SCARLET’S POV We just arrived at the border of Diamond Cut Pack when I saw a group of horses coming to us from afar. I don’t need to be told as I already know who they are. “It should be alpha Fred, my queen. They must be coming to welcome you” the driver informed me and I nodded in response. When they got to us alpha Fred, alpha Jake, and alpha Ray came down from their horses. With them were a lot of servants and guards. I took out my veil and covered my face, Kendra and Mia did the same too. Soon some of the guards from the other carriages came over to my carriage and I stepped out. The Chamlee and lord Nathan were already waiting for me outside. Seeing me, alpha Fred, alpha Ray, and alpha Jake rushed over and bowed. “Greetings my Chamlar, we heard that you are already in Diamond Cut and we came right away to welcome you” alpha Fred announced. Seeing my friend, alpha Ray and my ex-husband, alpha Jake after a long time I felt absolutely nothing, at least not at the moment. Right now, they are insignificant to me. There are more crucial matters to take care of. “We don’t want to bother you with our visit,” I said. “We are glad to receive you, my queen, welcome to your land” alpha Fred said. “You are welcome, the Chamlee and lord Nathan, I do hope your stay here will be the best,” he said to my husbands. “Hello, alpha Fred” lord Nathan replied and Chamlee gave a light bow. “Welcome my queen” alpha Ray greeted. “You don’t speak to the queen unless you are being spoken to” the Chamlee warned him. “I... I... am...” alpha Ray stammered. “Shut up” lord Nathan ordered and he closed his mouth looking so confused. Alpha Fred smiled. I can see that he was already so tense. “We... I... I... can lead you to the Packhouse immediately or show you around if you wish. Or I can do that tomorrow if you feel that it is already late” alpha Fred offered while the other alphas kept their distance away not wanting to annoy me unknowingly. The sun was already out and it will soon get dark. I can't go around the Pack today.“I know my way around, alpha Fred, and I will go to the Packhouse for now. I will take a look around my territory some other time” I replied. “We have already done all the arrangements for your visit before now. I personally saw to it that adequate preparations are made in anticipation of your arrival. But if there is anything that you don’t want, I will change it immediately” alpha Fred tried to impress me. “I would have to see it” I replied. I turned to alpha Jake and alpha Ray. It was time for them to speak. Seeing my gaze on them, they were startled and unsure of what they were supposed to do. Alpha Fred told them. “Now you can pay homage to the Chamlar” They hesitated at first, and when they saw that no one was trying to stop them they went ahead. Alpha Jake went first. With I bow, he greeted and introduced himself. “Greetings my Chamlar, you are welcome to the three brother Packs. I am your humble servant, alpha Jake of Black Moon Pack” I frowned under my veil, I already know who he is and sadly, it is not a very pleasing memory. “I say who is alpha here” I informed him. “I... I am sorry, Chamlar” he apologized with a bow. Alpha Ray went next. “Greetings the great Chamlar, and ruler of the whole universe. I am your humble servant, alpha Ray. I was in charge of Crystal Realms Pack. I welcome you to your territories” After hearing him, I did not reply to him. ALPHA JAKE’S POV “Greetings my Chamlar, you are welcome to the three brother Packs. I am your humble servant, alpha Jake of Black Moon Pack” I humbly introduced myself. Speaking to the great queen, I find myself being nervous and not knowing the right words to use. “I say who is alpha here” she reprimanded me. “I... I am sorry, Chamlar” I bowed and rendered my unreserved apology to her. Yes, she says who stays and who leaves. She has already affirmed alpha Fred’s position and I don’t think she would need I or alpha Ray. Of what good would we be to her anyways? “Greetings the great Chamlar, and ruler of the whole universe. I am your humble servant, alpha Ray. I was in charge of Crystal Realms Pack. I welcome you to your territories” alpha Ray spoke after me but she did not reply to him.There was something strange in all of this. Who is this Chamlar and why must her face remain covered. But alpha Fred already admitted to seeing her beautiful face, didn’t he? And according to his description, she is the fairest lady he had set eyes on. Her beauty was captivating and only befits the gods. She was a direct replica of the moon goddess. So why then is she still having her amazing face covered and those of her maids? But it was not just her face, there was something unique about her voice and the aura she exhibits. Something familiar, something I felt accustomed to. I stole a glance at alpha Ray and he responded with a knowing look. We both can't feel the same way about this. Or maybe we were just overthinking, she was never as strong as this and it can never be. Even alpha Fred admitted that he has never seen someone like her before. “Alpha Fred, it’s time to go to the Packhouse. You see, we weren’t expecting such formalities,” the Chamlee said. “We thought we should do something befitting for my queen. We are sorry if it does not please you” alpha Fred explained. Alpha Fred was eager and put in his best to please the queen and her cohorts. But she is not a lady to be impressed easily, I can already see that for myself. What if she feels I am not worthy to remain in her land, what if she is not able to vouch for our loyalty and decides to do away with us? If push comes to shove, I will gladly choose to die an honorable death on my soil than turn into a rogue. I will die for my pride. “We must go straight to business, a lot has to be properly taken care of” lord Nathan said next. “Lead the way,” the Chamlee instructed alpha Fred. Without wasting an extra second, alpha Fred mounted his horse. I and alpha Ray did the same too and rode beside him. There is no hate in me whatsoever. We brought this on ourselves, we sealed this with our blood when we all sat back and allowed alpha Fred to give his beta unfettered privileges. We all were aware that there are some things a beta should never be in control of. If I had known, I would have gone and made peace with the Pixies before the war. I would have severed myself and my Pack from the three brother Packs and gone for peace because even then I knew we were in the wrong.
