SCARLET’S POV I sat round the table with my team consisting of the Chamlee, lord Nathan, Rich, Lara, Landon, Dawn, and mama Ruth, discussing my upcoming journey to the three brother Packs. Since the Chamlee is going with me, then I must put everything in place before the arrangement. “The journey will be in two days and the Chamlee will accompany me” I announced. “I called for this meeting to tell you all how things will be until our return” “How long do you intend to remain there, my Chamlar?” Rich asked. “I couple of weeks. It will depend on how fast I can round off everything. At most we will be gone for two months” I replied. “Then I must go with you, my Chamlar, I will be by your side in this journey” he offered. “No, Rich, I have already thought about it. We are not going for a battle. Moreover, they are other things that require your attention here” I declined. “Then take me with you, I should be by your side at a time like this. There is nothing more important to me than your safety and I will only be pacified if I am by your side” lord Nathan requested. “Lord Nathan, I appreciate your goodwill, but I will like you to remain in your land and continue to oversee its affairs while I am away” Lord Nathan was not having no for an answer so he persisted. “I must come along at least for a few days. I can return to my land when I am certain that my presence is of no importance” “Very well lord Nathan. I will accept that you go with me just as you have said. It has been long I went there and I am not sure of the state of things at the moment” I obliged. “And me too, Chamlar, I must follow you along,” Landon said. “You will not be joining me, Landon. I want you here to oversee the affairs of Pixolands. While I am away, you will administer it in my stead. Rich will be going to Wild Cloak Pack with his wife, Lara. He will be the chief of Wild Cloak Pack and run its affairs until Lalic comes of age” I declared. “Very well, my lady” Rich accepted but it seems Lara did not buy the idea cause she immediately put up a protest. “I have never left your side, my Chamlar, I deserve to go with you on this journey. I won't be at peace knowing that you are over a thousand kilometers from me. How can I ever get used to being away from you?”“I quite understand with you, Lara, and I must admit that I feel the same way. But we should accept that things are no longer the same way as they were years back. So many changes have occurred. You are married to Rich now and need to be by his side at all times. Wild Cloak is not far from here, and if you so desire, you and your husband can remain here while he administers Wild Cloak Pack. The major thing he will need there anyways is an office. As for my being a long distance away from you, I will be with my Chamlee and lord Nathan. I also have Mia and Kendra with me and I will take along a few of my best soldiers. I will be okay” I explained. She inhaled deeply. “I never imagined that it would come to this someday, Chamlar, but whatever happens, I will always want to have you as my best friend,” she said in a sad tone. I fear she was going to cry. “I know, Lara” I replied. “As for remaining here and presiding over Wild Cloak, I think it will be in the best interest of the Pack if we reside among them,” she said. I nodded. I fully agree with her. She can always come here whenever she wants to. Wild Cloak is a Pack without an alpha. As a result of the invasion of the plague, they lost so many of their citizens especially those in the ruling class. Right now, the Pack is being controlled by the leader of the warrior, and I intend to hand it over to Lalic once he comes of age. At the moment the Pack is still under recuperation and with a great leader, it would be on its feet soon. And I know that Rich would be that leader while Lara would be the best queen for them. I looked at mama Ruth and asked her. “Mama Ruth, since you already have Lara here, I don’t think you have a need to go back to Diamond Cut” “I will always want to remain by you and Lara’s side. Wherever you two are is home to me” she replied. “You are welcome to live with any of us” I informed her. “Now I will...” I was speaking but Dawn interjected. “I will like to return to Diamond Cut. I will go ahead of you and meet with you when you arrive” “No you are not” an astonished Landon exclaimed. “I already told you that I would send a message over to them, but since the opportunity has presented itself, I want to go there instead” Dawn explained. “I...” Landon stopped. “Is there a need to go, Dawn, we can take your message along?” I asked. I always knew that it will eventually get to this, but there is nothing I can do to stop her and I don’t intend to stop her either. It is her family, and now that I have Fernanda and Lalic, I should clearly understand the love for one’s family. “I have to. I left in such a way and I never planned for it. I do need to see them” she replied. “Very well then” I nodded. “Please, sister, I don’t intend to undermine or hurt you in any way by my insistence. But Diamond Cut is not an enemy anymore, it is now a part of your territory so I should be able to go there and return as I want. I will leave together with you and when we are close, I will go ahead with you and once I am through at the mansion I will meet up with you. I will only spend a few days and I will come back to Pixolands” she took her time to explain. “I understand, sister, you are free to decide” I replied. I understand her, and sometimes I wish I also have a family where I come from, those that I can relay my life issues and get their blessings. I envy her a little thought, but above all, I am happy for her. “Thank you so much, my queen” she replied. I looked at Landon's face and saw he is not in support of this development but he refrained from saying any more. I hope that they sort the issue between them amicably and that this does not sow some seed of discord between them. I don’t know how it feels to go against one’s partner though. When I was with alpha Jake, I did all I could to please him and never for once thought of using my own voice. And now that I am with Chamlee, my word is law to him and he will never go against any of my orders. I decided to let go of Dawn and her mate and focus on the business of the day. “After I arrive at Diamond Cut, I will meet with the three alphas and discuss with them the new administration of the Packs. I will also decide if I would want to retain alpha Ray of Crystal Realms Pack, and alpha Jake of Black Moon Pack” “Should their loyalty be questionable, we would not hesitate to do away with them” lord Nathan said. “Killing their alphas might generate some uproar among them. We might want to come up with another approach” Chamlee objected. “The Packs are already under me, and the only authority they should be acquiesced with is me. So if killing the alphas would cause some upheaval, then I would as well do away with them the first chance I get” I replied firmly.
