BETA TIM’S POV “Beta Tim, now are you fully ready to take back what is yours?” Mildrid asked, her eyes fully fixed on mine. Her question cut across my soul and left me wounded. It is time I answered this question, especially to myself. Am I ready to be me or am I still contented with sleeping? But come to think of it, what have I gained for all that I have done for this Pack? Nothing, absolutely nothing. Even the alpha would not reveal what conclusion he arrived with the queen of the Pixies, he will not say what they agreed on or let me know what transpired between them. Why was I the only one that was tortured, beaten, and rough handled in Pixolands? All the good things that I have done for the Pack, what do I have to show for it, nothing. Now it is time to show my true colour, it is time to let them know what they have to contend with. I am a wolf and would never let mere humans subdue me even if such humans are led by a white werewolf. Mildrid is my true companion in this. With her, we will bring the three brother Packs, begging on their feet. Having made up my mind, I ordered. “Get done with it, Mildrid, I have never been this ready in my whole life” “It is time for them to know just what stuff I am made of. All my years of sacrifice to them cannot be made a waste, I must make them pay” I fumed. “You might want to understand what happened in Pixolands, do you?” she asked. I looked around the room, it was just the two of us in it. At least our conversations would not get to the alpha. “But what good would the explanation do? I have seen everything with my own eyes. If it were not for my luck, alpha Fred would not have blinked even if a sword passed through my throat right in his front” I replied. Mildrid went over to the front of the mirror and said. “He did not even try to plead on behalf of your sons. The queen said she can get a stronger army” she giggled. I went over and stood behind her. “I will not be surprised, neither will I be fooled anymore” I replied. “Are you still wondering why you got to receive all the tortures?” she asked. I was stunned and instantly depressed. “You knew about it?” I never mentioned it to her.“Of course, I do. Alpha Fred already gave you in. They know that the war was your sole prerogative. They are all fools. Which Pack goes to war if the alpha does not approve of it? But what can they do when he is a handsome man that their queen has fallen head over heels for?” she replied. “She wants alpha Fred? That slut. I should have known it. I should have seen it from the way she was looking at him. She never for once took her eyes off him even when her king was right beside her. But she cannot have him, she already has two men and alpha Fred is meant for my daughter, Dawn. Apart from Dawn, no other lady can have him. I have sacrificed everything for this Pack just to see that day come” I swore. “I should have stopped you from accompanying him, Tim. I should have told you about his evil ploy. But what can you have me do? You are only his beta and cannot make your decisions. If he says you follow him into the abyss then so shall it be. All I did was to secretly fortify you just so you can return alive” she revealed. “You did” I was amazed and impressed by her goodwill. “I could not tell you about it because I know how much you trust your alpha and how loyal you are to him. If I had pre-informed you of the pending danger, I know you would have tried to stop the alpha from continuing on the journey and thereby getting me into trouble. You know it is treason to tell on an alpha” she explained. “To hell with the loyalty. That loyalty died over there at Pixolands. Now I know it was all a setup just to fool me. One minute we were all in chains, and the next they are all already adequately taken care of except of course for me. I wasn’t allowed water or food for the two days that we spent there” I lamented. She moved a little distance from the mirror. “All I need right now is your full support. Support me and we can have the three brother Packs to ourselves. And even if we cannot claim it from the Pixies we would make sure to leave it in ruins before they come for it. They will be nothing left for them to claim” she demanded. I turned to her and said. “You will always have my support, my lady” “Even if we do not destroy the three brother Packs completely, we would make sure that whatever is left of them would be zombies, nothing but our zombies” she declared. “We lose, they lose even more” I agreed with a grin. “Our zombies would be ready to die than to turn against us. They will fight with their last blood against the queen of the Pixies” she declared. Yes, that is what we need, zombies. We need men that will be fully loyal to us, those to whom only our words will be a law, those that will only listen to our command. “Whatever you say, I will accept” I replied in gladness. Everything is beginning to go my way, and there is nothing more that I could ask for. “And even in this, to repay your loyalty, I will see to it that your sons are healed. I will get a great witch to heal them and they will be part of our armies. They will head our zombies” she declared. “That will be great, my lady. There is no army as fearless as my sons” I replied. She is very strategic and that is the one thing that draws me close to her. She never allows herself to be caught unawares by the enemy and even now she is aware that my sons would be indispensable assets to her army. I cannot wait for this to get even better. “You have to remain by my side, Tim. Speak the same words with me and we would be untouchable” she requested. “I will never leave your side, my fair lady. Now let’s get to work, there is no time to waste” I demanded. Alpha Fred is busy at the moment having a series of meetings with his cabinet. He is also engaged in meetings with alpha Ray of Crystal Realms Pack and alpha Jake of Black Moon Pack. Right now, he has no concern for the happenings in the Pack and so this is the best moment to strike. By the time he awakes from his long overdue slumber, it would already be too late and after that, he would dare not to ever look down on my person. He will not even know what I am up to. He will not notice my absence as he has dispensed with my person ever since we returned from Pixolands. He has made it so obvious that I am of no use to him again. But not to worry, I will make him pay for daring to underestimate me and treat me like a piece of trash after so many years of my unquestionable loyalty to him.
