The Heiress Who Took Revenge

Chapter 635 The Last Favor

Eliza glanced at Henry, who was beside her. Henry said, "The artists who worked for my aunt should all have contracts. If I'm not mistaken, the contract term should be ten years. You haven't even worked for my aunt for a month. I had people looking for you a few days ago, but you'd already changed your contact information. Did you not take our Foster family seriously at all?" With a contract in hand, Naomi was obligated to work for Wendigo Corp. But Wendigo Corp had collapsed, and many artists, unwilling to continue fulfilling the agreement, had fled. Naomi smiled faintly. "Of course I have a contract. But the person I signed with was Wendy, and she only required me to work for her personally. Now that Wendy is dead, I naturally no longer need to fulfill my obligations. If Mr. Foster doesn't believe me, I can show you the contract so you can confirm I'm not lying." Seeing Naomi's confident appearance, Henry frowned. Naomi then took out her phone and showed the digital contract to Henry. It was, indeed, different from the other artists'. In the contract, Wendy had stipulated that Naomi only needed to be personally loyal to her. It didn't even have the company's official seal. In other words, Naomi wasn't technically a Wendigo Corp employee, and this contract couldn't even be brought out into the open. It seemed Wendy had intended to use Naomi as her secret weapon, but before this weapon could be truly deployed, Wendy fell. "I see. It seems I was unaware of the situation and almost wronged Ms. Sofia." Henry returned the phone to Naomi and said, "Since there are no issues, please come in." Henry moved aside, and only then did Naomi and Nathaniel walk into the church. Matteo, who had been following behind them, lowered his voice as he passed Eliza. "I'll wait for you behind the church. You must come alone." Nolan, standing next to Eliza, heard this, and his gaze turned cold. "Nolan, I'm going to step away for a moment." When he looked at Eliza, Nolan's gaze softened again. "Be careful." "Don't worry. Matteo and I are allies. He won't do anything to me."Eliza knew Matteo wouldn't harm her. At most, he would tell her something about the Hartwell family or ask her to help him, as per their previous agreement. Eliza walked to the back of the church, while Nolan and Henry found a way to keep Nathaniel occupied so he wouldn't notice Matteo's absence. When she got to the back of the church, Matteo got straight to the point. "I'm making my move. I need you to do one last thing for me." Eliza had previously agreed to help Matteo with three things. The other tasks were done; only this last one remained. Eliza knew this day would come. She asked, "How do you plan to deal with Nathaniel?" "I need your people. I need Henry and Nolan to help me. I want Nathaniel taken down." Hearing this, Eliza frowned. "I've told you before. I agreed to do three things, and I can go all out for you, but Henry and Nolan have nothing to do with this. I can't let them get involved." "You?" Matteo laughed. "If you weren't the Sue family's daughter, and if Nolan and Henry weren't both fond of you, do you think I would have cooperated with you? I've helped you a lot lately, which counts as helping them too. Now is when I need help. If you won't help me..." "Go ahead and tell everyone I'm the boss of MISS if you want. That's not a secret I'm worried about anymore." Eliza shrugged. "That doesn't pose a threat to me anymore, so I really don't need to honor this third request. But I don't like to go back on my word, so I will still do what I promised. Why don't you think again about what you want me to do?" Hearing Eliza say this, Matteo, contrary to expectations, smiled. "Alright. In that case, I'm out of options." "Wh—" Before Eliza could finish, Matteo suddenly raised a hand and chopped the back of her neck. The next second, Eliza collapsed to the ground. Matteo looked at the unconscious Eliza, then, with a blank expression, slung her over his shoulder and carried her away. ... Back inside, Nathaniel looked down at his watch and said, "We've paid our respects for today. We'll be leaving now." After speaking, he glanced around. "I wonder what that kid Matteo ran off to. He's been missing for a while."
