I Married My Boss... On a Blind Date
Morgan's breath hitched. He was unable to move even the slightest. Josie tilted her head back, holding back her sobs as she said, “I know the reason you spent so much time and energy getting close to me was because my father was responsible for the death of your sister, Yulissa. During the internal strife in the Bastille family years ago, Shawn, in his bid to defeat you, targeted your beloved sister. She suffered a heart attack and died on the operating table. You found out that the attending doctor had used forbidden medication, and this doctor was bribed by Shawn. You were determined to seek revenge on Shawn and the attending doctor. Although Shawn was the mastermind, the doctor was the one who carried out the plan. You found him even more detestable. You wanted him to have a fate worse than death.” It was difficult for Josie to utter a complete sentence due to her emotions, yet for Dexter, she strove to remain composed. “You discovered he had an adopted daughter, so you patiently waited for her to grow up and get into university. You also applied to the same school for your postgraduate studies, creating an opportunity to meet her. You enticed her into falling for you, only to cruelly abandon her later. Once your game was over and you found it uninteresting, you detached yourself, seeking someone to stage a hit on the doctor. Unfortunately, he didn't die; instead, he ended up in a vegetative state. But perhaps this was for the best, as living in such a state is the greatest torment to one's mind. What you didn't anticipate was that the doctor would actually wake up one day. So, you returned, pursuing the girl once again. You kidnapped her beloved father, tormenting him for two whole years.” Josie took a deep breath. She hadn't anticipated that after dissecting the situation, she would still find it unbelievable. Josie gradually approached. “That girl truly had feelings for you once, and even in the end, she refused to believe that you were the one who had done all this.” She climbed the stairs, reached the second floor, and locked eyes with Morgan through his mask. Morgan's hand was shaking severely. He uttered in a hoarse voice, “No...” Josie's eyes were filled with sorrow as she raised a piece of paper. “You know, I found something in Shawn's safe. It was a contract from years ago when he tried to bribe the attending doctor. The doctor didn't sign it. He rejected Shawn.” Upon her arrival in Rivodia with Angel, she immediately sought out Shawn, who was suffering from a mental illness. Everything became clear to her after she met him. Morgan's eyes were filled with rage as he vehemently shook his head. “No way! He killed my sister. My people found out that he used illegal drugs!” “In the internal strife of the Bastille family, can you really tell who was innocent? After Yulissa's death, Paul mourned for a month. It was the first time a patient had died in his hands. He lived a life of goodness. He would never engage in such actions!” Josie spoke up loudly, defending Paul. Morgan still shook his head, though with less intensity now. He refused to accept the truth that could overturn his understanding of things, and even less so the idea that the plans he had been meticulously crafting for years amounted to nothing. Josie stared at the gun, terrified that his emotions might trigger an accidental discharge. Her voice softened as she added, “Morgan, I've known for a while that you're Wayne Dalton. But I kept quiet because I couldn't accept that you were that kind of person.” The accusations from a moral high ground left Morgan utterly shattered. He roared, “I am that kind of person! I deliberately got close to you, yet I couldn't help but fall in love with you. I forced myself to leave you, prioritizing revenge, but I was still drawn to you, showing weakness time and again! I had countless opportunities to kill Paul, but I let him go each time. During the two years he was held captive, I allowed Arnold to take care of him secretly... simply because he's your father.”
