I Married My Boss... On a Blind Date
Dexter gently tapped his foot. “Please take your time to weigh the pros and cons. I heard you only have half a day. I've arranged accommodation for you at the hotel. Whenever you've made up your mind, feel free to reach out to me.” After speaking, he signaled for Selena to leave. With her child in tow, Selena calmly stepped away from Salazar. Her heart swelled with emotions. It was the first time in years that she left him with her dignity intact. Summer stood next to Salazar, her eyes filled with a complex mix of emotions. There was worry, fear, and an underlying sense of melancholy that she couldn't quite name. This hint of melancholy was picked up by Salazar. He reached out, holding Summer's face. “Who are you looking at?” Suddenly, Summer snapped back to reality, her eyes filled with nothing but fear. “No one. I was just worried about your child...” She quickly changed the subject. “Do you think Mrs. Zastrow would agree to you taking him as your godson?”Just a moment ago, she had caught a glimpse. The child bore such a striking resemblance to him that anyone, unless utterly foolish, could see it. Harshly, Salazar pushed her away. “Go back and tell your master to come see me.” In the car, Ashton, Selena's son, respectfully greeted Dexter, “Hello, Mr. Russell.” Over the years, Dexter had occasionally visited the mother and son a few times. Unexpectedly, the boy remembered him. Dexter asked with a smile, “Do you know who that was just now?” “I do. I've seen him on the news before.” “Then why were you crying so much? Do you realize if you were more charming, your life could turn upside down?” Ashton pondered for a moment before nodding. “I do, but that would upset Mommy, and I don't want to make her sad.” Dexter glanced at the blissful expression on Selena's face. “You have a great son.” Selena chuckled. “I heard you have a wonderful daughter as well.” Dexter revealed a genuinely heartfelt smile at the mention of Grape. “Mr. Russell, you have a daughter? When can I meet her? I want to play with her.” Ashton's eyes were bright. Dexter gently patted his head. “She's barely over a year old. She can't play with you just yet.” “It's fine. I like having a younger sister.” Dexter merely smiled without uttering a word. Selena asked, “Will Salazar really let this go? If he attempts to snatch my boy away, what should I do?” “Don't worry. Compared to his current status, the allure of a child isn't as strong. At most, it's just the cherry on top. He won't take the risk.” Upon reaching Russell Mansion, the two went their separate ways. Josie's car that had been trailing behind stopped right outside Russell Mansion. Just as she was about to turn and leave, someone knocked on her car window. To her surprise, it was Justin. “Sis.” “It's you?” “I'm in charge of security today, and I noticed quite early on that you've been following us from the beach all the way here.”Josie felt somewhat guilty. “Does he know?” “He's inviting you in.” Josie gripped the steering wheel. “I have something to ask you. Get in the car.” Justin stood his ground, unmoving. “This isn't right.” “He's your boss; I'm your sister! Who are you going to listen to? Get in the car!” Josie, infuriated, honked the horn. Justin was startled. His unwavering determination on his chosen path was completely undermined by their familial bond. He got into the car. “Let's make this clear. I know absolutely nothing about the matter with Salazar.” “Quite the tight-lipped one, aren't you?” Josie chuckled, but her inquiry wasn't really about that. “I just want to ask about your mother... How is she doing lately?” Justin's eyes widened. “Why the sudden interest in her?”
