I Married My Boss... On a Blind Date
Morgan swiftly received the news as well. Josie was seated in the car, his teasing voice resonating through her earphones. She kept her gaze fixed straight ahead. Mark's car remained parked in the parking lot, and Laura got in. “Who told you that?” “You don't need to worry about this. If I can't even catch a whiff of such rumors, then I have no business being in Wavery.” That made sense. Josie picked up the folder from the passenger seat, and it surprisingly contained Yulissa's information. “Then you must have known for a while how Dexter managed to free himself, right?” Morgan paused for a moment, clearly feeling a hint of helplessness toward her intelligence. “I'd love to admit it, but unfortunately, I really don't know. However, the answer will be revealed soon.” “What do you mean?” “Salazar arrived in Wavery today, making quite an ostentatious display.”He bypassed formalities, reports, and receptions, diving directly into grassroots work. However, Salazar's journey was not for the sake of grassroots matters, but rather for his own personal affairs. Josie narrowed her eyes. Dexter had mentioned something about Selena before, and it was highly likely that it was about her child. “You dare to stalk a man like him?” Morgan chuckled lightly on the other end. “I was just curious. Even men can enjoy a bit of gossip.” “Where are you?” “I'll send you the address.” Josie started the engine, but Laura was still in the car, not making any move to get out. She paused. “I might be a bit late.” “Do you need someone to pick you up?” Josie glanced at the folder in her hands, then suddenly asked, “Morgan, what about you? Are you keeping something from me?” Morgan was silent, seemingly deciphering her intentions. “I shouldn't have asked. You've always kept something from me.” “Jo.” For some reason, there was a hint of panic in Morgan's voice. Josie ended the call. She had a vague premonition that the contents of this folder were going to alter her perception. After much hesitation, she finally opened the folder. In Mark's car, Laura's eyes were rimmed red with anger as she accused, “Dad! Who was it that stood up when Olsen Group was in its most difficult time? Who spent a great deal of time and energy managing this company for you? My youth was dedicated to Olsen Group. It's not just your hard work; it's mine too!” Mark kept his eyes shut all along, his expression stern and composed, making it impossible to decipher what he was thinking. With a sense of defeat, Laura lowered her hand. “It's because I'm an outsider, right?” Upon hearing this, Mark finally opened his eyes. He let out a soft sigh. “Laura, you've suffered a lot marrying into the Olsen family and becoming Zach's wife.” The tears that Laura had been holding back for so long finally fell. “But why did you...” “I know you're upset because I gave all the shares to Josie. Don't worry. Once everything is settled, I will give you what you rightfully deserve. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.” Laura was taken aback. She couldn't figure out what she could possibly gain after all the shares had been given to Josie. “No, Dad, it's not about benefits; it's about you treating me as family...” Laura was on the verge of tears. “Haven't I done enough over these past few years?” “Laura, I once considered you as family, but your obsession runs too deep. Perhaps it's not too late to look back now.” After uttering those profound words, Mark had her get out of the car and then said to the driver, “Let's go.” Left alone in the parking lot, Laura felt utterly lost. She quickly wiped away her tears. What was the old man implying? Did he notice something...
