Meadow’s p.o.v. I have just gotten to the Squad house and Maryan is waiting for me outside, a serious look on her face. I know my second in command well enough to know that they found something serious and I quickly run to my office. The file is on my desk and as I glance down at it, I see that Maryan already added it to our mission board. I let my eyes glide over the lines in the file, I read every piece of information my team has gathered. There wasn’t much on the male that kidnapped the Alpha’s Daughter, but there was plenty on the Alpha and his family. After reading the entire file, I stand in front of the mission board and something is bugging me big time about this case. It is not just the fact that the Alpha want this male dead, it is the lack of information on the male from the Alpha’s side.I let my mind go back to the request for assistance from the Alpha. A male named Andrew has kidnapped my Daughter, Janey. My Elite Warriors have lost track of their scent, they have doubled back to try to pick up the scent going of in a different direction and came back to the same point. They have searched for more than forty eight hours, before the scent was completely gone. Andrew was a part of my Pack for nearly ten years, he never gave an indication to being a predator or having an interest towards any of my Daughters. Janey’s Mate is at the end of his wits, he is slowly losing control of his Wolf and we have run out of options. I hereby request the help of a Squad team to find my Daughter, alive. Andrew needs to be dealt with and it would please us all if he never sees the light of day again.Alpha Rolf of Black Moon Pack The first question on our mission board, where is Andrew’s file? Even if he was a Rogue at some point, they would have made a new file for him and the Pack-doctor would have given him a full medical check. Second question on the mission board, who is the Alpha’s other Daughter? According to the archive he only has one Daughter, unless he refers to his Stepdaughter. Third question on the mission board, who is Jane’s Mate? Why wasn’t he with her at the time of the kidnapping? Why isn’t he the one to reach out to the Elders? Why isn’t he out there looking for his Mate? Fourth question on the mission board, why does the Alpha want Andrew dead? No answers have been found so far, but we are not giving up. Luckily the Elders have people living in just about any Pack and I have reached out to a few of them, hoping to get some answers about Andrew and Janey.“Okay, let’s get something to eat. We will come back to this after dinner.” I say as I grab my plate from lunch and walk towards the kitchen. Breakfast and lunch can be spent anyway we want, but for dinner everyone has to gather in the dining room. It is the only thing Captain Miles insists on, he wants to make sure we all get along. Tonight we have the pleasure of joining Captain Miles and his team for dinner, it doesn’t take long before we are discussing our assignment. I hear the same questions flying through the air that we came up with, but without some additional information there are no answers and we all leave the dining room feeling a bit frustrated. “Maryan, have we gotten any information yet?” I ask, I need that information from within Black Moon Pack and I want it yesterday. “Not much though, Andrew is a nice and polite male and never caused any trouble. He joined Black Moon after his former Alpha had been challenged and lost, he felt he couldn’t stay with the new Alpha in place. No one seems to know why he referred to two Daughters, he always makes it clear that he has one Daughter and it isn’t his biological Daughter.” Maryan says. I stare at Maryan to see if she is kidding, but the fucking woman is dead serious. Why the hell would an Alpha consider his Stepdaughter as his own? Unless of course she is his biological Daughter too. “See if Sarah can break into their medical records, I need to know everything about the Alpha and his family. Something isn’t adding up and we will find out what it is.” I say to Maryan. I shift through every file we have on this case and every question we have come up with pops back into my mind, still not having an answer to them. This is a case that I have never come across and I have read just about every case that the Renegades handled. I push it aside for the time being, I can’t find answers and I will only drive myself nuts if I keep going through them. I grab our training schedule to make a few changes for the next few days, I take my team of the sparring schedule and increase the time we spend on building speed and stamina. We will go for a run first, through the forest, up and down the mountain as we go. Let’s see if he can keep up or make it to the end without hurting himself, maybe I should ask Doc to wait for us at the finish line. After that I will take him to the library and give him some old cases to look through, cases that the Renegades were never able to solve. Let’s see if that will give him an indication of what we do around here and that some cases can cause a Renegade to die. “You are going to give that boy nightmares.” Rebel says with a grin on her face, she likes my train of thought as much as I do. Elder Chelsea had called Alpha Lincoln after a few hours to find out what exactly happened with Makay and she had given me the extra information.Makay is going to regret his decision to ignore his Alpha’s warning.
