The Wolves Beneath the Sanctuary
Lance "Josy, put a picture of Tanya's Sister in the system. I want to know if she ever shows up here again," Lakota says. "Also make sure I am aware of anyone coming in that doesn't use the password; I will make sure that at least one Warrior is here at all times. I don't want anyone trying to mess with my Pack-members," she growls, and I know Colton is already on it. I place my hand on her lower back as I tell her through the mind-link that Armas just arrived; I am glad he is here to deal with Shithat and take him off our hands. I walk outside to get some fresh air, and I growl loudly as Armand wraps her in his arms. Before he can say anything, I have pulled my Mate out of his arms, and the look on my face is enough warning for him to take a step back—not that I would stand a chance against a Lycan as well trained as Armand. However, he understands that it is best to stay away from her, and she leans into me as she explains that we are fated Mates. "Well, it looks like congratulations are in order, Alpha Lakota," Armas says, and I see Armand's eyes widen; looks like he wasn't aware of that development. "Thank you, Council-member Armas. I know we have somewhere to be, but there have been some developments we need to talk about. I would like you to accompany me to our Pack-house; you can bring the Squads with you as we will not be going to the hidden territory," Lakota says, and I know she wants to tell him about Jake as well, hoping to find out if a third chance Mate was ever given by the Goddess, or maybe Lakota just got lucky. "Alpha, what kind of music do I hear?" one of the Squad-members asks, and Quinn tells him that it is called Celtic music from the Human era, that the lyrics are either in Irish Gaelic or Scots Gaelic. "Wow, where did you find it?" He asks, and again Quinn answers him. They keep talking about the music as we walk back to our territory, Keir waiting for us on the front steps, and the look on his face tells me that he already knows what happened at the diner. "Do I need to deal with the Asshole in our cells?" He asks Lakota, and I see Armas looking between Lakota and Keir. "Dad, I think that is something the Council might want to handle. They already know a part of what happened, and him showing up here wasn't by accident. Her Sister told him where they were going; I am glad we have all those precautions, or he might have been ripped to shreds by her Mate," she answers, and everyone that was present knows that he wouldn't have survived an attack from her Mate. LakotaI quickly explain what happened in the diner, and Armand gets the order to contact Council-member Finlay to come get Shithat, while he follows me into my office. Dad and Lance are the only two that follow us in, and Colton stays outside. I tell Armas that I found my second chance Mate on our way to the territory, and I find out that a third Mate is sometimes granted to those that deserve it according to our Goddess. "My next question might seem a bit odd, but it is something I need an answer to. Are there any other shifters besides Wolves and Lycans?" I ask him. "There are a few reports of Wolves or Lycans that told their Alpha, but most were written off as a figment of their imagination due to trauma. We always took every report seriously, but we never found any evidence to support their claims, and for the past two centuries there have been no reports on an encounter with another shifter," he answers. "Jake was a Mountain Lion, and it was also the reason Hidden Mountain Pack took chosen Mates," I say before I tell him what I read in Jake's journals. "If I ever find another shifter, I will take them in as a Pack-member; I will leave it up to them whether or not the Council is allowed to know," I state, and he just nods his head. We head back to the diner to get into the SUVs and make our way over to Silver Shadow Pack. Soon my former Mate will realize that he tried to mess with the wrong female, and I am going to make Carl and Joe regret following his lead; I will take their fated Mates with me to hide them away from the rest of the world.
