The Wolves Beneath the Sanctuary
Lakota Uncle Chris gets up as the female stares daggers at me. "Jeff, first of all, you knock and wait for a response before you enter the Alpha floor. Your Daughter made the same mistake earlier today, and this is the only warning the two of you get. Second of all, your Daughter was the one that was rude to my Niece, and my Niece just reacted to a possible threat. If your Daughter had been treated unfairly, I would have said something; I don't tolerate injustice from anyone, and you know that," Uncle Chris says. "My Daughter has every right to be on the Alpha floor as she is pregnant with Marcos' Pup," Jeff says, and I see everyone turn their heads towards Marcos. "They are lying; she is not with Pup," Lotus growls in my head, and I ask her if she is absolutely positive about it."One hundred percent," she answers, and I link Colton to make sure they can't leave the Alpha floor before I turn to Aunt Lucy. "Aunt Lucy, can you link your Pack-doctor? I think it is wise to get a pregnancy test done before you all look so accusingly at Marcos," I say, and I already see the female getting uncomfortable. "Are you calling my Daughter a liar?" Jeff asks, and I tell him that I would like to know for sure if she is telling the truth, that it would be in the best interest of the Pup to get her check-ups planned. "If she is pregnant, that is, and something tells me that she is actually lying," I say without taking my eyes off his Daughter. Colton opens the door after we hear a knock on the door, and I have to stifle a smile as I see that Doc has brought a portable ultrasound machine with him. Alice offers to help him set things up as he asks the female to pee in a plastic cup. Jazzy and Quinn guide her to the bathroom, and I ask Jeff to take a seat. "Lance, keep the Pups away from the Alpha floor. I will explain everything later," I say through the mind-link, and he tells me they will be in the kitchen grabbing something to eat. It doesn't take long for Quinn and Jazzy to return with Jeff's Daughter, and something tells me she tried something. "Quinn, what happened?" I ask her through the mind-link, and she tells me that she tried to close the door in front of them before she tried to stall. "We found a small bag of urine on her; we left it in the bathroom," Quinn states, and I really feel like punching the Bitch's lights out. "Marcos, I understand that you might not want to answer this question, but I need you to tell me the truth. Did you ever sleep with her?" I ask as I look him in the eyes. "No, Lakota. I never slept with her, and to be honest, I never slept with a female; I am waiting for my fated Mate," he says, and Lotus tells me that he is telling the truth. Someone clearing their throat pulls our attention towards the Pack-doctor. "Alpha Chris, I have the results from the test. It is negative; she is not pregnant," Doc says, and I see Marcos deflate as he hears the news, but that leaves us with a few more questions. "Quinn, grab the bag you and Jazzy took off her and let Doc test it," I say before I turn towards Jeff. "Anything to say for your behavior?" I ask him as I sit down next to Marcos. "I am sorry, Marcos. I should have made sure before I came barging in here and made false accusations," he says as he looks at Marcos. At least Jeff knows that he was in the wrong, and he is not afraid to admit he was wrong, but it seems his Daughter is a bit more difficult. "Marcos is mine," she growls again, and I look at her as Lotus tries to push forward. "Can you please explain why you keep saying that?" I ask her, and I am really curious to hear her explanation. "My Mother told me that Marcos would be my Mate, fated or chosen. Mom has never been wrong about Mates in her life, whether they were fated Mates or chosen Mates," she answers me, and Dad is laughing his ass off, making me wonder what he knows. "Your Mother couldn't tell a fated couple from a chosen couple, and she sure as hell couldn't predict who was mated to who. I know why she told you that crap, and it has everything to do with the Alpha family of Crystal Blood Pack. She thought she should have become the Luna, but she wasn't the Alpha's fated Mate. She tried to get him to take her as his chosen Mate with the same trick you tried with Marcos, but unfortunately for her, his family knew he was into males. So she tried going after his younger Brother, thinking that he would take over the Pack as he could give the Pack an heir, but he found his fated Mate. He is sitting right here next to me, and I know your Mother left the Pack a few days after Chris found Lucy, but I never knew where she went. Jeff, was she your fated Mate?" Dad asks him, and Jeff nods his head. Doc tells us that the other sample is positive, and Jeff asks her where she got it from, but she refuses to answer him. "Either you tell us voluntarily, or I will Alpha command you," Uncle Chris growls, and she tells him she took it from the infirmary, but that she didn't take everything to make sure no one would notice. Jeff asks if she knows who the sample belongs to, and she avoids eye contact as she says, "No." Uncle Chris walks up to her as it is obvious that she knows who the sample is from. "Jeff, can I ask you a question?" I ask before Uncle Chris gets the chance to say anything; he nods his head, and I ask him if his Mate is still alive. "No, she died about ten years ago," he answers me, and I think I already know who the sample belongs to.
