Chapter 41 You Have No Right to Do This

Bang! Elaine's kick sent Philip hurtling across the room, crashing him into the cold, unforgiving wall before he crumpled to the ground with a sickening thud. The sound echoed throughout the space. Philip's face drained of color in an instant. Blood began to trickle from the corner of his mouth, but he couldn't make a sound, too stunned to react. "Ah! Philip!" Wilda shrieked, her voice filled with panic. She looked horrified as she rushed to his side, trembling like a frightened animal. Elaine slowly and deliberately approached her, each step heavy with purpose. "Wh-what do you want to do?" Wilda stammered while taking a few steps back, her body shaking uncontrollably with fear.In her panic, Wilda's legs gave out beneath her, and she collapsed to the floor in a heap. Elaine looked down at her with utter disdain. Where has that boldness gone, the one she was showing off just moments ago in front of Anna? "Please, please don't hurt me!" Wilda begged, her arms clutching her head protectively. Elaine ignored her and walked past her, heading toward the door. Just as Wilda thought Elaine was leaving, Elaine turned around, locked the door behind her, and made her way back toward them. Wilda froze, her eyes wide with dread. Elaine walked to the bedside, picked up a small fruit knife, and twirled it in her fingers twice. She turned around and approached them, her face as emotionless as stone. Her eyes were cold and piercing, like a trained assassin, ready for a kill. "Th-the knife ... What are you going to do with that?" Wilda stammered, crawling desperately to Philip's side as she looked for any escape. "Philip, Philip, is she going to kill us? What should we do? What should we do?" Wilda's voice quivered in a frantic panic, her desperate words almost pathetic as she turned to the injured Philip for answers. Philip lay on the floor, blood staining his lips, his body wracked with sharp pain from his broken ribs. The impact of Elaine's kick had left him gasping. How could a woman like her have so much strength? "Elaine, what are you doing?" Philip growled, his voice trembling with fear. "Don't you know we ... cough ... are connected to the Currans now? Do you really think you can take on someone from their family?"Elaine paused in front of him, her smile chilling and icy as it spread across her lips. "Didn't you call Anna a cripple?" she said with a mock sweetness in her voice. "Let's see who the real cripple is." "You wouldn't dare! You can't! It's illegal to hurt people!" Philip shouted, his voice desperate, filled with a sudden wave of panic. Elaine sneered, her eyes narrowing dismissively. "Who says I'm going to do it myself?" Philip blinked, confused. Elaine's lips curled into a sarcastic smile as she tossed the knife onto the floor, where it clattered sharply. The blade caught the light, reflecting a cold, dangerous glint. Elaine's gaze turned to Wilda. "Pick up the knife." Wilda's body trembled with terror as she scrambled back, shaking her head violently. "No! I won't!" Elaine's voice turned steely and commanding. "Then I'll carve your face with it." Wilda froze, her mind racing with fear. Elaine's patience wore thin. She snapped, "I'll say it again. Pick it up." Under the weight of Elaine's icy stare, Wilda had no choice but to pick up the knife. Her hands shook uncontrollably as she struggled to keep a grip on it. Elaine casually pulled over a chair and sat down, her presence dominating the room. She stared at Wilda with cold authority. "Now, with that knife in your hand, ruin Philip. I want him to be a man, but not a man. Do you understand?" Wilda's eyes widened in horror as she realized what Elaine was asking her to do. But instead of obeying, she flung the knife away. "No! I won't! You're crazy! Are you out of your mind? You have no right to do this!" The thought of hurting Philip was unbearable. How would I possibly dare to do it?
