Seraphina Is Back—and She’s Not Alone
The moment Seraphina stepped into the classroom, every pair of eyes turned to her. The disdain and contempt in their gazes were palpable. "Pregnancy and abortion. Disgusting." Seraphina paused mid-step, turning her head to look down at Juliette with a sharp gaze. Juliette was stunned as she shrunk closer to her deskmate, "What do you want?" "If you keep on talking sh*t, I can't resist the urge to clean that filthy mouth of yours." Juliette closed her mouth shut. Seraphina's piercing gaze swept across the room. "Same goes for all of you." Bang! A chair fell and broke the tension. The clatter rang through the room before silence reclaimed the space. No one dared to make a sound. Without a word, Seraphina walked to her seat, pulled out her chair, and sat down. She flipped through the pages of her textbook and began working on her assignments calmly. The rumors and gossip seemed to have no effect on her. She had endured a lifetime of malicious gossip and cruel words in her past life. Those scars had hardened her heart, building an impenetrable wall of resilience. She wouldn't care about such things in this life. Cedric and the group trailed behind as they strolled into the classroom. As soon as they stepped inside, everyone had their heads down, absorbed in their phones—everyone except Seraphina. "Shane, what's wrong with her? The whole school's blowing up over what's on the campus forum. How can she still be studying like nothing happened?"Cedric didn't know whether he should be impressed or worried. "Shane, do you think the rumors online are true?" asked Brody. Shane shot them a cold glare. "Morons." Cedric and Brody exchanged confused glances. Their cluelessness only irritated Shane further. He kicked them both aside and made his way from Seraphina's back. Without a word, he slung his bag down and sprawled out on the desk. Propping his head on his bag, he stared at her through half-lidded eyes. Eventually, he fell into a peaceful sleep. Seraphina glanced at him from the corner of her eye before returning her attention to her textbook. That afternoon, two men in tailored suits entered the school with exuding professionalism. They carried briefcases and made their way to Class B. One of the men knocked on the classroom door. The teacher looked up, puzzled. "Who are you looking for?" "Good afternoon, I'm Mr. Zahner. We're lawyers from the Pinnacle Legal Partners. Is Kelly Thomson here?" The leading man spoke politely. The students turned their attention to Kelly. Kelly stared back at the two men, baffled. "Yes. Kelly, go ahead," said the teacher. Kelly stood up in confusion and followed the men towards the hallway. Inside the classroom, the students buzzed with curiosity. They could barely focus on their lessons as they strained to hear the conversation. "Hello, Kelly Thomson. I am Miss Valewyn's attorney. Due to your recent actions of spreading defamatory and false statements about my client, we'll be proceeding with legal actions. We are informing you of this verbally and in writing." Even though his voice was calm and measured, it carried through the quiet corridor. The students could hear each of his words. "What?" Kelly's eyes widened in disbelief. She had never expected Seraphina to take such drastic action. This was not the first time she had done something like this. Yet, she suffered no consequences from it. Who the f*ck hires a lawyer? Not only did this leave Kelly utterly speechless, but the students were equally stunned.
