Seraphina Is Back—and She’s Not Alone
"Looks like pigs are flying today. He actually showed up this early," someone commented. Glancing at Seraphina with a smug grin, another voice added, "Seems like someone's bound to have a tough day." Meanwhile, Juliette was practically bouncing in her seat, her eyes glued to the door as she waited for him to arrive. The young boy strode in without glancing at anyone. His phoenix-like eyes lifted in a slight, aloof arch as if to say he owned this place. The group of teenagers trailing behind him, with their dreadlocks and gum-chewing, weren't just tagging along—they were his crew, each one radiating the same rebellious vibe. They were the kind of troublemakers that everyone at Bloomington School turned a blind eye to as long as they didn't cross the line. Thud! The classroom's back door was kicked open, grabbing everyone's attention. All eyes snapped to the door as a tall figure strolled in, exuding effortless coolness. It was Shane Draykon, and his confidence practically oozed from every step. Juliette's heart fluttered at the sight of him, her eyes swiftly turning to Seraphina. She couldn't shake the hope, if only this time, that Shane would throw Seraphina out the window as she had always imagined. The classroom buzzed with excitement, making the lesson feel momentarily insignificant. Shane moved right up to the front of the room, his piercing gaze locking on Seraphina immediately. He scanned the area, confirming that the window seat—his usual spot—was taken. He casually strolled up to her desk, confidently leaning on it. His eyes scanned her momentarily before he spoke in his trademark arrogant tone, "Hey, you're sitting in my seat." Seraphina remained unfazed. She met his gaze with her usual calm and gestured toward the vacant seat by the window. "That's your seat," she stated matter-of-factly. Shane followed her gesture, looking at the empty spot. For a split second, his confidence wavered. Okay, maybe it is my seat, but... he thought, but something didn't feel right. A member of his crew advanced, visibly angry, and barked at Seraphina, "Hey, you're taking Shane's seat." Seraphina reclined in her chair, smirking as she raised an eyebrow. "What, is he some kind of octopus? Why would he need two seats?" she shot back, her tone dripping with sarcasm. The room fell quiet. All eyes were on the scene. Even the math teacher, Brinley, momentarily froze, unsure how to react. Brinley's mind raced. This could get ugly.Rumors say Seraphina is tough, but Shane? He is the real troublemaker. If these two face off, anything could happen. Juliette, Alina, and the others seemed to buzz with excitement, their fists tightly clenched in anticipation. The students shared a sense of anxiety, knowing that those who had previously angered Shane often faced negative consequences; many who were hospitalized in the ICU hadn't yet been discharged. However, Seraphina seemed utterly unbothered by the tension. She propped her chin in her hand, casually glancing at Shane and saying, "Take it if you want the seat. If not, then move along. I'm trying to study here." Shane's crews were already tensing up, cracking their knuckles, and itching to step in. They didn't have a problem roughing up girls. Yet Shane raised a hand, signaling them to hold back. His gaze stayed fixed on Seraphina, intrigued by her fearless response.
