Seraphina Is Back—and She’s Not Alone

Chapter 214 Thomas Arrives

Without hesitation, Michael made the call, and almost immediately, the phone on the table rang. "This is not good," Thomas muttered to himself. He picked up the phone, glancing left and right. Everything seemed fine, but the issue was clear: no one had replied to his message. Seeing his behavior, Michael felt alarm bells going off in his head. Thomas was waiting for something—no, someone. This was not a good sign. Michael quickly signaled to his assistant, who approached and said with a sense of urgency, "Thomas, you're about to go on stage. Let me hold onto your phone for you." Thomas gave the phone a brief glance before tossing it into his hands. "Keep an eye on it. Let me know if anything comes through." The assistant nodded quickly.Meanwhile, Seraphina followed the rest of the group to the edge of the square, where a few actors were gathered under a large tree, scripts in hand and rehearsing their lines. The students around them glanced around curiously. Evelyn, after having looked around, asked, "Where's Thomas? Why isn't he here yet?" Dora, who seemed more accustomed to the entertainment world, smiled knowingly. "He's a big shot, so he'll probably appear last. He's probably resting in his trailer and will come out when it's time to film. Just wait." Seraphina's attention was caught by a pair of familiar-looking actresses standing under the shade nearby. She said, "Those two look familiar." Dora and Evelyn both followed her gaze. They saw two female celebrities standing under the sunshade. Their appearance was polished, their temperaments refined, but they didn't seem to have the impact of seasoned actresses. "They're probably newcomers. Honestly, I don't even know their names," Dora remarked.Evelyn narrowed her eyes, her expression sharpening. "You don't know Thomas, but you seem to recognize them?" Seraphina chuckled awkwardly, realizing her slip-up. She forgot about the time difference for a second. She hadn't meant to imply anything by it, but she was well aware that those two "newcomers" would soon rise to fame. Despite her disinterest in the entertainment industry, she knew they would become household names in no time. Just then, a crew member approached the group and called out, "All extras, gather around! When we start filming, you'll need to walk around the square. Don't look at the actors; just focus on your path. Got it?" A few murmurs of agreement came from the extras. "Alright, you'll walk along this section," the crew member directed, pointing. "The three girls in blue, follow me. You'll walk on this side." Seraphina and her two companions followed the crew's instructions, taking their positions near the filming center. They were now in prime position, close enough to the main actors to have a chance at being in the shot. Evelyn's face lit up, her excitement almost palpable. "Ah, I'm so lucky! This spot is so close to my idol!" Dora shared her excitement, though her reaction was more measured. "You look so happy." Seraphina, however, felt nothing of the sort. Thomas? He seemed like a pretty easygoing and humorous guy, but that was all. If Michael or Thomas' assistants had heard Seraphina's casual evaluation, they might have choked on their words. Not far from them, Kelly and the others couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy at the prime position Seraphina and her friends had. "I'm going to ask my cousin to bring me on set next time," Kelly grumbled. "I'll get the best spot, too."Abigail didn't mince words. "Yeah, but can your cousin even get you near Thomas?" Kelly's confidence deflated immediately as she realized the impossibility of the situation. Just then, a sudden murmur rippled through the crowd. "Thomas is here!" someone shouted.
