Seraphina Is Back—and She’s Not Alone
"I will check on Old Mr. Lowell first. Could I ask everyone to step outside for a moment?" George made his request, and the Lowells obeyed without hesitation. They left the room right away. Once they were outside, someone from the family hurried to the banquet hall to announce George's arrival. "Is George really here?" Evelyn excitedly asked. "Someone from the second branch of the Lowells said so. He is on the second floor, checking on Old Mr. Lowell's health," Dora whispered. "When he comes downstairs, we will see if he is as handsome as people say. Can he be as handsome as Thomas?" "Come on. Thomas' looks are top-tier in the entertainment industry. George is not even in that field. His talents are different," Dora replied."Thomas is just as talented! " Evelyn said, defending her idol with passion. She could not believe anyone would insult her idol. Dora stayed quiet and chose not to argue. … Ten minutes later, George gave a card and a bottle of medicine to Jeffrey. "Old Mr. Lowell is still in good health. With proper care, he can stay with you for several more years. If his condition worsens, give him one pill. Only use it in emergencies, and never more than one. "This card is from that person." If it were not for that person's request, George would not have made this trip. Now, the favor was returned. After finishing, George got ready to leave. Jeffrey quickly stopped him. "Dr. Foster, why not have some fruit and snacks downstairs before leaving? There is no hurry." He could not let George leave yet. There was a crowd downstairs eagerly waiting to see him. If he left now, how could they explain his absence? "There is no need. I prefer my quiet," he said. He did not look back as he walked away. Zack walked over to his father. "Dad, are you really letting him leave just like that?" Jeffrey sighed. "What choice do we have? Drag him downstairs? He is not someone we can afford to offend." The only reason George came to check on Barrett was because of that person's influence. Otherwise, why would someone of his status visit the Lowells? "What about the guests waiting downstairs?" Zack asked. "There is nothing to explain. He is already gone." The guests eagerly waiting downstairs had no idea the person they were waiting for had already left. When Seraphina returned, she overheard Dora and Evelyn excitedly talking about George. "Sera, you are here just in time. George is upstairs checking on Old Mr. Lowell. They say he will come down after the checkup. I am so excited," Evelyn said, practically bursting with energy. Dora laughed. "Typical. You're so obsessed with looks." "I am proud to love handsome men," Evelyn said, confidently holding her head high. Seraphina could not help but comment. "Do not get your hopes up. He might not come downstairs." Dora and Evelyn stared at her in disbelief. "How do you know he will not come?" "Just a feeling," Seraphina replied. She had only met George once, but she could sense that he disliked the noise and chaos of the banquet. If he did not, he would not have come unnoticed and gone straight to the second floor."I think he will come," Evelyn said with a smile. "Oh, by the way, Molly just saw Yvonne leaving with Myles. They were holding each other close. I heard Myles is a notorious playboy who goes through women like it's nothing." "She is ruining herself," Evelyn said with disgust.
