Seraphina Is Back—and She’s Not Alone

Chapter 17 Outrageous

Seraphina attracted many glances when she walked into the mall with clothes stained with ice cream, but she didn't care and casually picked a store to enter. "Welcome." The sales assistant's eyes flashed with surprise at the stains on Seraphina's clothes. However, her professional demeanor kept her from showing any inappropriate reaction. Noticing the quality of Seraphina's clothes, the assistant kindly said, "Miss, we're having a big sale right now. For example, this dress was originally 4800, but now it's only a little over 2700." "Which clothes are on sale?" Seraphina asked. The sales assistant knew her sales approach was correct and immediately led Seraphina to the sales section. "This entire row is on sale." "What else is on sale?" "These, and these too. Over there are the new arrivals for this year." The sales assistant enthusiastically introduced another section. "Other than these and the white and plain ones, pack up everything else for me." The sales assistant was stunned and asked again to confirm. "Miss, you mean all the new arrivals?" "Is there a problem?" A bank card was handed to her. Seeing the card, the sales assistant quickly shook her head. "No problem." Other sales assistants and customers in the sales section looked over at Seraphina. She was dressed unremarkably but did something that shocked everyone. The sales assistant asked, "Would you like to change your clothes? Which one do you want to wear?" Seraphina pointed to a red dress. She used to love warm colors, but because Chloe didn't like them, she wore white and plain clothes to please her. White was too cold for her. Red was like the sun, warming her heart and providing a touch of warmth on lonely nights. The waiting sales assistant was stunned when Seraphina came out of the fitting room, her eyes full of admiration. A simple red dress looked different on her. The clean lines outlined her perfect figure, her long hair draped over her shoulders, and her fair, delicate features seemed to glow under the light. Her face was full of youthful vitality without luxury accessories or heavy makeup, exuding a striking charm with her cool demeanor. In the store, men waiting for their girlfriends or women picking out clothes all looked at her, their gazes lingering for a few more seconds, especially the men whose eyes were fixed on her. The sales assistant exclaimed, "Miss, this dress suits you perfectly like it was tailor-made for you."Such words were said countless times a year, but this time it was genuine. Seraphina looked at herself in the mirror, her eyes deep. From today on, I will only be true to myself. She would no longer wrong herself for anyone. After paying, Seraphina left the store, leaving the purchased clothes for delivery. Meanwhile, Linara, holding the consolation bank card from Chloe, was shopping with a few friends. One of them noticed the girl in the red dress across the way. "Look at that lady's red dress. It's beautiful. Let's get one too." When Linara recognized Seraphina, her expression changed immediately. "Linara, what's wrong?" Kelly asked with concern. "Do you know her?"Linara's eyes filled with tears, and she pulled her friends along, saying, "Let's go." "Who is she?" "Why are you so scared?" Linara shook her head, biting her lip. "Let's go. If she sees me, I'll..." Carmen realized what was going on. "Is she the lady your parents adopted?" "How dare a foster daughter bully you? Linara, you're too kind." Kelly, full of righteous indignation, said angrily. "Good people get bullied. You can't be like this." "How dare a foster daughter bully the legitimate young lady. This is outrageous." Carmen snorted coldly, already feeling a deep dislike for Seraphina. "Let's go meet her." The three of them pulled Linara and headed straight for Seraphina.
