The Apocalypse Wolf Queen
Third-person POV: When Harvey heard Luke relay the message, his heart jumped, and he stepped forward to grab Luke's collar. "What the hell is going on?" Luke irritably swatted Harvey's hand away and said flatly, "Thora said the academy's been invaded by mercenaries." Luke showed no expression when he said this, not a single reaction, but Harvey stood frozen for quite a while before calming down. He walked outside the classroom and looked at the students trapped at the main gates, then immediately turned back. "Where's Thora?" he asked urgently. Luke adjusted the glasses Harvey had knocked crooked and said indifferently, "Didn't you hear the explosion? She's probably gone to defuse a bomb."Luke was just talking off the top of his head. Who knew what Thora was actually doing right now. But it nearly scared Harvey to death. It took him a while to steady his emotions before he immediately began directing the Class F students according to Thora's earlier instructions. Students from several surrounding classes were so frightened they scattered in all directions. Seeing someone finally taking charge, they followed Harvey's orders. Thora reached the electrical room and heard the explosion sound from outside, her expression darkening further. This explosion was nothing more than a signal. She didn't dare to delay and sped up her inspection. Shirley seemed to know what Thora was looking for and started to search around too."All the wiring's been cut." Shirley said in a low voice. Suddenly, Thora's movements stopped as she looked at a square-shaped box embedded between two electrical meters. A countdown was running on it, the red digits and ticking sound enough to set anyone's heart racing. "Timed bomb?" Shirley said tensely. Thora's voice suddenly dropped. "No, timed and remote-controlled. Besides, this isn't the only one in Astralis College. Within the countdown window, they can remotely trigger these bombs to explode at any time." If she remembered correctly, due to the academy's special nature, Astralis College had implemented numerous security and blast-resistant measures. So no matter how powerful a bomb was, its blast would be reduced inside Astralis College. Moreover, they'd entered illegally. Starlance City was the Astralis Empire's capital and the Lycan King's core territory. Though the black market wasn't covered by the Sentinel System, the military had it by the throat, watching weapons sources and access routes closely. There was no way to smuggle in large quantities of explosives. That's why they'd adopted this method of multiple bombings. It allowed them to destroy Astralis College bit by bit while also satisfying their sick pleasure of being in control. Thora immediately opened her phone and used the earlier interface to connect to Luke's phone. "Luke, send over the complete floor plans and architectural blueprints for Astralis College." Without a word, Luke opened his laptop and connected to the local signal from Thora's phone, transmitting the academy's architectural blueprints and floor plans. Though there was no signal, Luke had already installed a special software interface on Thora's phone that could emit a local signal for short-range communication. It had been a little toy from his testing phase, but now it came in handy. While communicating with Luke, Thora studied the blueprints he sent. Her gaze quickly locked onto several locations. "Luke, give the phone to Harvey." Luke frowned but immediately handed the phone to Harvey. "Thora's looking for you." Harvey was shocked and immediately took the phone. Thora spoke in a commanding tone. "Harvey, memorize these locations. Prioritize evacuating people from these spots, and whatever you do, don't let anyone get near these places." "Yes!" Harvey snapped to attention. Without hesitation, following Thora's orders had somehow become instinct at this moment. Thora quickly rattled off five locations, then immediately hung up.She looked at the bomb still flashing red before her. The locations she'd mentioned were all the most vulnerable spots in Astralis College. And one of those places was the electrical room. Based on the direction of the explosion just now, it was also one of the locations she'd just mentioned. Shirley watched Thora's methodical manner, a glimmer flashing in her eyes. She really was everything Shirley had thought she'd be from the moment they met. Even bomb disposal and directing evacuations came so naturally to her. That cold, ruthless edge was even more captivating than the veterans in the assassin organization! "Can you defuse bombs?" Thora asked. Shirley was stunned for a moment, then shook her head. "No." Thora turned back and looked at Shirley with a smile. "Knowing how to kill is enough."
