The Apocalypse Wolf Queen

Chapter 370 Ghost!

"What do you mean?" Mike didn't understand. He knew something had gone wrong during the third round of assessments, but the examination team had kept it strictly confidential. Even the freshmen were forbidden from leaking details, so he had no idea what had actually happened. Roxen just smiled and said nothing more. ... Meanwhile, elsewhere, Thora ran for a full eight minutes before finally reaching the housing assigned to her. Looking at the small building right in front of her, she was momentarily stunned. Amie couldn't help but flick her tail irritably in Thora's mind. "Are they sure this is where we're supposed to live? This place looks like an abandoned construction site." The decrepit windows hung precariously, looking like they could fall off at any second. Fortunately, the main structure of the building was still relatively solid, with no immediate signs of collapse. The walls were covered in ivy and climbing vines, almost completely engulfed. This was probably a dormitory from a long time ago. Most of the stuff inside had likely been cleared out already. She casually waved away the floating dust and pushed the door open to walk inside. Just as she'd expected—most of the rooms had been gutted, leaving only one that was still intact, though it was still rundown. Fortunately, though the room was small, it had all the basic furniture. It just needed a thorough cleaning before anyone could live there. Thora had never been picky about her living conditions. As long as it was livable, that was good enough. No matter how bad it was, it couldn't be worse than a primeval jungle crawling with venomous insects and wild beasts. Besides, she was the only one living in this entire building—quiet and spacious. She set down her backpack and prepared to start cleaning up. If she wanted to thoroughly clean the entire building, it would probably take quite a while. Thora took a deep breath. When she closed her eyes and opened them again, a flash of blue light swept through her gaze. She extended her hand, and invisible waves of energy rippled outward in all directions. As her wrist rotated, the dust clinging to the walls and floor actually began to float up, gathering into clumps and drifting outside on their own. It just so happened that a student was passing by this abandoned area. Hearing noises coming from the small building, he curiously stepped closer. But when he peered through the window—those old, broken tables and chairs were flying around in midair, occasionally letting out eerie creaking sounds. His pupils dilated. A cold gust swept past, sending chills down his spine. He screamed at the top of his lungs. "Ghost!" After shouting, he bolted without looking back. From that point on, rumors about the abandoned dormitory being haunted began to spread, growing more outlandish with each retelling. Thora used her abilities to tidy up both her room and the entire building. Hearing the scream from outside, she curiously poked her head out the window, but all she saw was a figure sprinting into the distance—nothing else. She pulled her gaze back and surveyed the now-refreshed building, nodding with satisfaction. The environment wasn't great, but it was far better than the abandoned building hideouts they'd used before. After some time, with a few modifications, this place could easily become her own private training facility. Looking at it that way, she'd misjudged the teacher who'd assigned the housing. He was actually pretty considerate. This place was way better than those cramped little single rooms the other freshmen were squeezed into. Thora figured she should thank him properly the next time she saw him. However ... her gaze landed on the pile of bedding that reeked of something foul. Keeping that stuff around would definitely breed bacteria, and Thora was always strict about her health and safety. A cluster of blue-purple flames suddenly flickered to life at her fingertips. Her eyes sharpened, and the bedding on the bed instantly turned to ash. In truth, when Konner had assigned the housing, he never expected Thora to actually stay there. He'd assumed this freshman would come crying back to him, and then he'd have the perfect opportunity to lecture her and knock her down a peg. So the place hadn't been prepared with any supplies for a new student at all. At this very moment, Konner was sitting with his legs crossed, leisurely waiting for Thora to come crawling back. Who could have guessed ... Thora had actually made this dump her home. After burning the bedding, she simply set up a hammock in its place. Knock, knock, knock! Just then, a sudden knocking echoed through the building. Thora paused what she was doing, puzzled. She got up, walked out of her room, and opened the front door of the dormitory building.
