The Apocalypse Wolf Queen
Thora's POV: "No way. A military family heiress can't handle a gun?" Someone laughed along with Caleb. "And you're supposed to be one of Silverleaf Pack's heiresses? Talk about gutless!" "See, women are just women. They can't compare to men." "Caleb, what's your problem?" Felix glared coldly at Caleb. "You know perfectly well my sister never learned to shoot. What kind of man challenges someone with no training?" Caleb's smile faded as he frowned. "Felix, what's with you today? You keep defending her." I didn't let Felix keep standing up for me. I stepped forward with a cold laugh, staring Caleb down. After just two seconds of direct eye contact, he took a step back."Shooting's not rocket science. If you've got hands, you can do it." I held out my hand toward Felix. He passed me the gun, then realized. "Wait, there's no ammo ... " I expertly spun the gun in my palm, tested its weight, then walked over to where the magazines were stacked. My finger hooked the empty magazine and released it downward while my other hand grabbed a fresh one and slid it up. It clicked into place. It was done in the blink of an eye. Suddenly, the people who'd been laughing fell silent. From the corner of my eye, I caught their frozen smiles as they stared at my hands in shock. Surprised murmurs rippled through the crowd. "How fast was that reload?" "I've got no clue, I wasn't timing it. But that was insanely fast, like professional military level." I walked to where Felix had been shooting, raised my arm, and reminded him. "Felix, pay attention." "Got it." Hearing his serious response, I smiled and pulled the trigger. Ten shots rang out in rapid succession. In less than two seconds, all the bullets were spent. "That was so fast!" "Yeah, how'd she do that so quickly?" Caleb scoffed. "Anyone can fire off ten rounds randomly like that." His implication was clear. I'd just been shooting blindly without any accuracy whatsoever. "100 rings."As the display screen announced the score, everyone's eyes snapped to it. "A hundred rings?" "Am I seeing things?" "That fast and she got a perfect score?" Everyone stood frozen in shock. Caleb refused to believe it. "Impossible! There's no way she scored a hundred rings!" Once the heat from the muzzle dissipated a bit, I wiped it down with a nearby cloth, spun it once in my hand, and returned it to Felix. "Did you catch that?" I asked Felix, who'd been watching intently. He nodded excitedly, unable to hide the admiration in his eyes. "Yeah, I got it." "You must've cheated!" Caleb still didn't believe it, staring at me coldly. But several other guys frowned and contradicted him. "That's impossible. The shooting system here has never malfunctioned. Thora's shooting speed was ridiculously fast, but we all just saw her hit dead center every single time!" "Right! I had no idea Thora was this good! I totally misjudged you. Don't take what I said earlier to heart!" "Yeah yeah, Thora, let's hang out sometime. My treat." "Hey hey, Thora, teach me too! How'd you pull that off? That was sick!" Werewolves naturally respected strength. The moment I'd demonstrated shooting skills that surpassed theirs, these teenagers' attitudes did a complete 180. I smiled politely at them, then turned to Caleb with a mocking tone. "Is it really that hard for a grown man to admit someone's better than him?"Caleb's face darkened, his wolf power beginning to ripple around him. He looked like he wanted to explode but knew he was in the wrong and had to hold back. "Mr. Caleb, what's up with you today? Do you have some grudge against Thora? Why do you keep going after her?" "Man, you lost. Just own it. No need to be like this." I couldn't be bothered wasting more time on Caleb and asked Felix. "Done practicing? Let's head home if you are." "Yeah!" He immediately stripped off his gloves and left with me. I sensed Caleb's furious, venomous stare burning into my back, and faintly heard him hissing through gritted teeth. "Thora, just you wait. Tomorrow I'll make you wish you'd never been born!" ... Hugo's POV:After witnessing Thora's entire shooting performance, I couldn't even wait to get back to headquarters. I immediately sent her image to my subordinates, practically shaking with excitement. "Find out everything! I want a complete background check!" While waiting for results, I replayed the shooting footage over and over. My final conclusion was clear—this kid was born to be a sniper! Soon enough, I received the file from my team. To my surprise, that young man was actually a girl. Thora Green, eldest daughter of Colonel Norman Green, current commanding officer of the Starlance Military District, and eldest granddaughter of the late General Marlon Green of the Astralis Empire. She had a clean background, with exceptional abilities. This was talent delivered right to my doorstep!Looks like this trip wasn't wasted after all!
