The Apocalypse Wolf Queen
Thora's POV: I wanted to see what Felix was really capable of in a fight, so I held back until he was in real danger before stepping in. "Boss! She must've used some dirty trick to mess me up like this!" The guy sprawled on the ground pointed at me and yelled. "Take her down!" The leader commanded, and all of them charged at me with iron rods crackling with wolf power. "Thora, watch out!" Felix shouted, his voice exploding in my ears. I focused on tracking the trajectory of the swinging iron rods, channeling my abilities through the soulstone to boost my speed. I dropped low to the ground the way I used to dodge mutant wolf claws back in the apocalypse, instantly weaving through the gaps between them. The iron rods slammed down with loud clangs, hitting nothing but air. Before they could recover, I was already back on my feet. My right elbow drove into the ribs of the guy on my left, while my left hand locked onto the wrist of the guy on my right as he gripped his rod. I used his forward momentum against him as my thumb pressed hard into the protruding bone of his wrist, the critical pressure point for disarming. Crack! The man cried out and dropped his grip, the iron rod clattering to the ground. I scooped up the rod in one smooth motion and reversed it, slamming the end into the back of the knee of the guy trying to ambush me from behind. The body's most vulnerable spots were crystal clear in my mind. Within moments, the whole group was sprawled on the ground groaning in agony, yet there wasn't a drop of blood on them. I stared at them expressionlessly. If I had my full strength, they'd all be corpses by now. After dealing with those thugs, I walked over to Felix, who was still frozen in that crouching position. "Get up." But he didn't react. ... Felix's POV: I stared in shock as Thora took down those adult werewolves who'd attacked me with swift, fluid movements. I was unable to process what I'd just seen for several long moments. Was she really my sister? The sister I remembered was timid and weak, her combat ability even lower than some Omega. At school, her grades were rock bottom in every category, making her the butt of everyone's jokes. I was embarrassed by her, so I deliberately kept my distance, and she never tried to get close to me either. We were supposed to be family, but we'd gradually become strangers. But since she came back this time, even though she still wore that same stone faced expression, she'd actually started talking to me, played video games with me, and even saved me from danger. "Get up. I'll give you candy." Suddenly, an orange flavored lollipop appeared in front of me. I snapped back to reality, internally grumbling. I'm not a little kid anymore! Yet my hand moved on its own, firmly clutching that lollipop in my palm. She pulled me up from the ground with that same motion, then looked me up and down. "Yeah, you're fine." I screamed internally. What do you mean I'm fine! I clearly got hit with those rods multiple times! Normally, I would've just sucked up the pain, but seeing how completely unconcerned she looked, I couldn't help letting out a soft huff. "It hurts a little." Thora immediately frowned and scolded me. "Man up. If you're whining over these minor injuries, how are you going to handle a real battlefield!" "Oh ... " I felt like crying as I responded meekly. I just wanted some sympathy, but she was way too harsh. "I'm leaving." "Wait!" Seeing her about to walk away, I immediately called out to stop her. "What is it?" She turned back with a puzzled look. I asked awkwardly, "What are you doing here anyway?" "Just passing by," she answered casually. "Oh ... " And here I thought she'd come looking for me. "If there's nothing else, I'm heading out." Watching her turn to leave again, I gripped the lollipop tighter in my hand. I couldn't quite name what I was feeling, but I knew I didn't want her to just walk away like this, though I had no reason to make her stay either. "Oh right, you haven't headed to class yet?" She suddenly stopped and asked. I immediately nodded. "Yeah!" "Do you want me to give you a ride?" I was both thrilled and surprised that she'd actually offer to drive me. Before I could answer, she just opened the car door. "Get in." I was a bit speechless. Where was the part where she asked for my opinion? She was so bossy and domineering, did she even bother asking if I wanted to get in? Fine, though I definitely did want to get in. Getting closer, I realized this was the sports car Grandpa had given her. She used to be too scared to drive it, but now she actually dared to. "Give me the location." I'd just buckled my seatbelt when she spoke again.Just like a soldier giving orders, brief and to the point, brooking no argument. I reached out to the touchscreen navigation and tapped the location of the shooting club. She started the car in silence, the cabin completely quiet. The whole drive, I kept sneaking glances at her, my curiosity finally getting the better of me. "Hey, you haven't even awakened your wolf. How did you take down five adult awakened werewolves?"
