The Apocalypse Wolf Queen
Third-person POV: "Time for class." After making sure Harvey and Ashton had patched themselves up, Thora headed back to campus. Class had already started. The teacher didn't even glance at Thora as she came in and kept right on lecturing. Clearly, late arrivals and early departures from Class F were nothing new. But just as Thora sat down, Luke had a glint of sharp intelligence flash behind his lenses. "Morning," he greeted her without looking away from his computer. Thora smiled. "Morning." At the same time, in a renowned military hospital in the capital of the Astralis Empire, Darius followed a nurse into Marlon's VIP room. "General Green, it's been a long time." When Marlon saw who it was, surprise flickered across his face. It took him a moment to respond, "You're Preston Blackwood's son, aren't you?" The young man looked so much like that guy in his memory. But compared to him, the young man standing before Marlon now had an even more unpredictable air—both refined and dangerous. "General Green, I'm surprised you remember my father." Darius nodded politely. Marlon looked a bit overwhelmed by the courtesy. "You flatter me, Mr. Blackwood. What brings you here today?" Darius, usually a commanding figure, had toned down his aura for Marlon and now spoke with real courtesy. "I came to visit, and also ... to talk about your granddaughter."That caught Marlon off guard. His granddaughter? "You mean ... Thora?" Marlon asked. Darius nodded with a faint smile. "Yes, your granddaughter, Thora." Marlon actually had two granddaughters, but he'd said "Thora" right away. So in Marlon's eyes, this mixed-blood Thora mattered much more than the pure-blood Hazel. Darius noticed the subtle shift in Marlon's expression. No wonder Marlon had handed Silverleaf Pack's succession to Thora. But Darius was curious—why would Marlon trust and favor a granddaughter who couldn't even awaken her wolf spirit? After all, in a werewolf society that worshiped strength, not awakening one's wolf spirit meant being a weakling. For an old military family like the Greens, handing her the title just didn't make sense. ... Thora spent the rest of the day listening intently in class, taking notes and absorbing everything. Her focus actually made the other students in Class F a little uneasy. It was like suddenly having a straight-A student join the class. But for Thora, she was simply determined to learn everything about this new world. Before long, Harvey and Ashton returned to class, too. The other students quickly noticed their attitudes toward Thora had changed. Ashton, with his head wrapped in bandages, kept chatting her up, and Harvey even brought snacks and handed them to Thora. The whole class was left scratching their heads. What on earth happened between them? The two boys who used to look down on Thora for being mixed-blood now seemed eager to please her. And they were doing it in front of Sophia—the girl who used to give Thora trouble. Everyone knew Sophia liked Harvey. Their actions felt like a slap in her face. But Sophia could only keep quiet and stew in silence, waiting for a chance to get back at Thora.
