The Apocalypse Wolf Queen

Chapter 246 Is He With You?

On a wide open lot in the suburbs, a helicopter was already waiting. "Boss!" As soon as Thora appeared, everyone called out in unison. Shirley charged straight at her, wrapping her arms around Thora's neck like a koala. Thora ended up carrying her along as she walked forward. "Thora, we've been waiting forever! This is the best—we're heading out together again!" Shirley buzzed with excitement. Thora was used to her clingy behavior. With Shirley hanging on, she calmly walked toward the group. "Shirley, get down," Tristan said with a frown, jealousy clear in his voice. This girl was only getting bolder because Thora spoiled her. Even he had never dared get that close. "Nope!" Shirley hugged Thora even tighter on purpose, clearly trying to provoke him.Tristan's eyes narrowed, sharp and cold. "Thora, he's going to hit me!" Shirley instantly switched to a pitiful pout. "You're a grown man. Picking on a girl? Do you think that's impressive?" Thora turned and scolded Tristan right away. Tristan was speechless. If he'd known, he would've stopped Shirley from ever joining Wolffang. "That's enough. Get down," Thora said quietly. Only then did Shirley reluctantly hop off. Thora checked the time. "Let's move. Get ready to board." Everyone nodded. Dominic headed into the cockpit first and started the helicopter. The rotors spun up with a roar, whipping the air into wild gusts. Just as they were about to get on, Thora's phone rang. She frowned. Very few people had this number, and even fewer would call her. She answered, and an anxious voice rushed through. "Is this Ms. Green?" "Carl?" Thora recognized him immediately. "It's me!" Carl sounded shaken. "Is Mr. Blackwood with you?" Thora's expression shifted. She looked around the empty field. Other than Wolffang and the helicopter, no one else was there. She asked directly, "What happened?" Carl spoke fast, not wasting a second. "An hour ago, Mr. Blackwood called me and said he was coming to see you off. He told me to wait at the company. But ten minutes ago, I tried calling him again and couldn't get through at all—not even through the pack's mind-link. His car and phone location are both stuck in the same place." He paused, sounding even more urgent. "Someone has been watching him lately. I was worried something went wrong, so I called you right away to check." "Stay on the line." Thora stopped walking and called Darius at once. The others noticed and froze at the boarding steps. "Beep ... beep ... beep—" The busy signal matched exactly what Carl had said. "Boss, what's going on?" Tristan asked first. Shirley leaned closer, worried. "Thora, what happened?" Thora shoved her backpack into Tristan's arms. "You guys go first. I've got something to handle. I'll catch up later." Then she turned and walked straight off the field. "Boss!" Tristan called after her. "Boss, registration starts the day after tomorrow! If you don't leave now, you might miss it!" Even Luke raised his voice.Everyone felt their hearts tighten. Blue Star Military Academy had a strict registration window. If she missed it, she'd have to wait another year. Flying from here to Tohmont and rushing to the test site would take at least a full day. If Thora stayed behind, she could easily miss something important. Thora paused, then turned back. "Relax. I'll make it in time." The helicopter was roaring, yet her voice cut through it—steady and certain. With that, she moved fast and disappeared. Tristan frowned deeply. After a moment, he clenched his teeth. "Let's go. If Boss says she'll make it, she will." "Yeah," everyone agreed as they climbed aboard. The helicopter lifted off with a heavy thrum. After circling once, it flew toward Tohmont, leaving the field quiet again.Meanwhile, Thora moved quickly, gripping her phone. "Carl, send me Darius' phone location and his car's coordinates right now." "Got it!" Carl replied without hesitation. As soon as they came through, Thora made another call. "Howard, bring my car to the intersection on Suburban Highway No. 3 as fast as possible." "Yes, miss!" She hung up and didn't slow down. With a single thought, she handed control of her body to Amie. In the next instant, white fur swept over her skin. Her bones and joints cracked softly. In a blink, a powerful white wolf stood in the morning light. It pushed off the ground with all four limbs, shooting forward like an arrow. A silver-white blur streaked across the road as it vanished into the distance.
