The Apocalypse Wolf Queen

Chapter 245 Sleep Together

Darius dragged out his words on purpose, a hint of mischief in his tone. "I'm here to sleep with you!" Before Thora could fire back, he rushed to the bed, slid under the blanket, and lay down neatly beside her like a well-behaved kid. A vein jumped at her temple. Every single thing he did crossed her line. She raised her leg, grabbed his shirt, and kicked him straight off the bed. His over-the-top groan made her lips twitch, revealing a tiny, hidden smile. "Get out. Or else..." She clenched her fist. "I'll throw you out myself." Darius climbed up from the floor, hugged a pillow, and sat there with a deep sigh. That reaction actually made Thora pause. "Thora, what are we?"She thought for a moment. "A couple." His eyes brightened. "Don't couples sleep together?" Thora gave it serious thought. Most couples did share a bed. "So, shouldn't we sleep together too?" Darius coaxed gently. Thora stayed quiet, her brows knitting together. "And you're leaving tomorrow. I'll be all alone," Darius sighed again, piling it on. "You disappeared for two years, finally came back, and now you're leaving again. You won't even sleep with me. That's rejection, right?" He sounded pitiful, laying it on thick. "That's enough." Thora frowned slightly and pulled the blanket aside. "Get up here yourself." The moment she finished speaking, he jumped onto the bed.By the time Thora realized it, he was already lying next to her again. Something felt wrong, but she couldn't tell what. After thinking for a bit, she lay down as well. "If you steal the blanket, I'll kick you off again." Her voice turned cold as she switched off the lights. "Got it!" In the darkness, Darius rolled to face her, resting his head on one hand as he quietly watched her sleeping face. A faint smile appeared. Thora was incredibly smart at times, but at other times, she was adorably straightforward. Her morals were firm. She trusted rules and logic. Once she accepted that couples should sleep together, she wouldn't argue against it. That was how she was. She possessed so many rare qualities others lacked—integrity, courage, loyalty, faith, and kindness with firm boundaries. But she also had weak spots, especially in everyday life and relationships. She wasn't nearly as flexible there as she was in combat or logic. Most of the time, she was direct and simple. And Darius had figured that out. She always melted when someone close showed weakness. That was why acting pitiful worked much better than pushing her head-on. Otherwise, how could he have gotten into her bed so easily? Watching her sleep, Darius finally grew tired. He yawned, and his breathing soon became steady. Thora slowly opened her eyes. She glanced at Darius sleeping beside her, then quietly looked away. That was strange. She didn't feel like kicking him off at all. Seeing him sleep so quietly, she thought he actually looked fine. She had never shared a bed with anyone before, so she hadn't slept. She'd only pretended, curious about what he would do. She stared into the dark for a while, still wide awake. In the end, she turned to look at him. He was very close now. With that movement, their breaths brushed together. He was really handsome. Even asleep, he looked good. Thora's lips curved slightly. Her eyelids slowly closed, and she finally fell asleep. Early the next morning. Thora's eyes snapped open. She checked the time and sat up quickly—only then noticing someone was still beside her. She instinctively softened her movements. After washing up, she glanced at the still-sleeping Darius, shouldered her backpack, and quietly left. The moment the door closed behind her, the "sleeping" Darius opened his eyes. His eyes were clear and sharp, without a trace of sleepiness.
