The Apocalypse Wolf Queen

Chapter 22 I Need to Start Over

Thora's POV: I set a strict training plan for myself, down to every detail from fitness routines to meal planning. Amie was still very weak, still deep asleep. Although I could already use many more of my abilities than right after I was reborn, I still had to be careful. This body's foundation was way too poor. If I pushed too hard, I'd end up with serious mental burnout. The most important thing was to build up my physical strength! After dinner, I finished my homework and got ready to go out for physical training. As I passed Felix's room, I saw that his door was wide open.He was hunched over his desk, frowning at a stack of tactical simulations. His fingertips dragged the troop icons across the virtual sandbox over and over, but he still couldn't find a breakthrough. I only needed one look to see the problem. "The left wing's formation isn't right." Felix jerked his head up, startled, and glared at me. "What are you doing in here?" I ignored the hostility and pointed at the simulation. "The left wing of your defense is too spread out. It looks like you're covering more ground, but you're actually leaving a gap for the enemy to get through ... " I tapped the virtual sandbox, adjusting the troop placements with precision. The moment I finished, the red "failure" warning blinked off. The score jumped from "fail" to "excellent."Felix, who had just tried to chase me out, was totally stunned. He stared at me in disbelief, only finding his voice after a while. "This is a Class S advanced tactics simulation question. I spent three all-nighters on it and still couldn't solve it. How did you get it at a glance?" Most of the hostility faded, replaced by curiosity. "I saw Grandpa use a similar formation before." I made something up, giving him no chance to dig deeper. "Try running through it again yourself. Don't just get stuck on the theory." I could feel Felix's questioning gaze on my back. Of course I couldn't tell him my secret about being reborn. But he was my brother, and I was willing to help him. After all, fixing the relationship with Felix was one of the original Thora's wishes. And I wanted a family member who'd stand by my side, not another enemy ... ... After two hours of intense physical training, I returned to my room. I'd just finished showering when my phone dinged with a new email. It was from Luke. He was pretty efficient. I sat at my desk with my phone in hand. When I opened the email, I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. The email was set to self-destruct after being read. Not bad, the tech nerd was quite thorough. Inside the email, Darius's file was laid out in detail.I skimmed through it quickly. Honestly, I wasn't that surprised by his identity. Still, it was hard to believe Darius had gotten so far at just 20 years old. He was the current Alpha of the Nightclaw Pack, the only grandnephew of the Astralis Empire's Lycan King, and the sole heir to Skybound Group. He'd finished all courses at the empire's military academy with top grades by the age of 15. Then, he suddenly vanished for three years. At 18, he came back with a wolf spirit rank that had reached S+. Not only did he take the Nightclaw Alpha position with sheer strength, but he also jumped straight into the CEO spot at Skybound Group, taking over the company that controlled the empire's economy. The "Werewolf Technology Research Institute" under Skybound Group specialized in creating new gear and smart tactics systems for the military—these gears and systems were customized for werewolves. That was the key to why Darius could influence the military, government, and business worlds all at once. And behind him wasn't just the Lycan King's royal bloodline. He also had an inner circle of diehard loyalists occupying key positions in the military, politics, and business. Every one of them was a force to be reckoned with. Once I'd finished reading, I tapped the confirmation button at the bottom. The email was instantly wiped out. Then I transferred 100,000 to Luke's account. Almost right away, he replied, "Thanks." A 100,000 wasn't a big deal to me. I wasn't short on cash. Even though original Thora's maternal grandfather had cut ties with the Greens after her mother died, he still secretly sent money to her account every month. She had never touched that money. Over time, it added up to a fortune—enough to last me a lifetime. Still, money was meant to be used for things that matter. I was well aware of my own situation. As the Greens' eldest daughter, I had my grandfather's favor and Silverleaf Pack's heir status in name. But as a mixed-blood, I was still excluded from the family—and there were even people who wanted me dead. There were plenty of branches of the Greens, and a lot of them were eyeing the Alpha seat. Therefore, staying in the family with nothing but an empty title was suicide. But I wouldn't give up on Silverleaf Pack! When I was first reborn, I made a vow that I would protect whatever belonged to the original Thora. But if I wanted to really get a footing in Silverleaf Pack and earn loyalty, just having the heir title would never be enough. To make everyone in the pack respect me, what I needed was strength, status, and a voice of my own. So, I had to leave the Greens and go out on my own. I needed to start over, not relying on family or inheritance. Not only did I have to protect everything the original Thora cared about—I was going to carve out a place in this world that belonged to Thora Green alone!
