The Apocalypse Wolf Queen
Thora's POV: When I got home, I went straight to my room, turned on my computer, and searched for information on "Darius Blackwood." But all the search results were surprisingly brief. Darius Blackwood. 20 years old. Current CEO of Skybound Group. Skybound Group? From the original Thora's memories, I knew it was one of the commercial giants of the Astralis Empire, basically controlling the empire's economy. But aside from that, there was no mention of which pack Darius belonged to, his wolf spirit rank, or even his family background. It was a total blank. I frowned. No ordinary person would have records that spotless, unless their background wasn't meant for outsiders to know—or was even classified as top secret. My fingers unconsciously tapped the edge of my chair. Darius, what kind of secrets are you hiding? As I grew more restless, I suddenly remembered that when I pointed out Luke's mistake earlier today, the programming language was actually similar to the foundational code from the post-apocalypse world. The code that had long been outdated in the apocalypse was apparently still the norm in this world. With that in mind, I quickly typed out a string of characters on the keyboard. The computer screen immediately switched to a black interface as lines of code began to scroll like water.I hit Enter, and an encrypted password box popped up. I froze. The Astralis Empire's information system had a built-in anti-tracking firewall. If the password entered was incorrect, an alert would sound instantly, and the admins could track me down in no time. I definitely didn't want the empire coming after me over something like this. After weighing my options, I decided not to try it myself. Instead, I called Luke. "Luke." "Thora?" He sounded surprised, clearly not expecting my call. I got right to the point. "Help me hack a system and pull up someone's file. Name your price." He was silent for a while before answering, "Alright. What system?""The Astralis Empire's Information Security Bureau." There was another long silence. "That's illegal." I laughed. "You've taken on plenty of illegal jobs on the side, haven't you? One more can't hurt." The line went silent again. After a while, he finally replied, "A hundred thousand. Not negotiable." "Deal." I agreed right away. After hanging up, I played with my phone, thinking back on everything I knew about Luke. He'd been the original Thora's deskmate. He never paid attention in class and was always glued to his laptop. The original Thora had accidentally seen some records of money transfers on his computer, but since she didn't know what they were, she'd never cared. But it only took a quick analysis for me to realize he'd been doing hacking jobs all along. My mind quickly calculated the risks and benefits. In the post-apocalyptic world, having top-level intel was key to staying alive. Now that I was in this unfamiliar world, Luke's hacking skills were exactly the "information weapon" I needed. If I could get him on my side, I'd be able to get a foothold much faster, and building up my power later would go much smoother ... Darius's POV: After dropping Thora off, I went straight back to Nightclaw Pack's estate. I was waiting for Oliver, but Carl's message came in first. "Alpha, we've found the two rogues who attacked Ms. Green."I was thinking about how to minimize Oliver's teasing when I heard this, and my face went cold. "Where are they?" Carl tapped his custom communicator, and a crisp 3D projection appeared in front of me. In a dim cell, two terrified rogues were pounding on the metal walls and yelling. "Let us out! Who the hell are you?" "Do you know who we work for? Let us go or you'll regret it!" I sneered. "They still have the energy to shout? Clearly, the punishments weren't harsh enough." Carl immediately whispered something into his communicator. Right away, the cell door in the projection opened, and two bulky guards stepped in. Heavy blows and screams echoed through the living room. The image shook for a second. When it steadied, the two rogues were collapsed on the ground, bloody and broken, barely able to groan. "Did they talk?" I asked calmly. "Alpha, they told us everything," Carl reported respectfully. "Someone hired them to ruin Ms. Green's reputation and make sure she could never compete to be Silverleaf Pack's heir. But when she fought back and fell off the cliff, they thought she was dead and took off. As for who was behind it ... " "Don't tell me," I cut him off. "I'm sure she'd rather handle that herself." "What about these two rogues?" Carl asked for instructions. My eyes went icy as I stared at the hands that had tried to touch Thora. Memories of the scene and the marks by the cliff flashed through my mind, and my Alpha aura surged."Leave them alive for Thora to deal with. But I'll collect interest first." I gave my orders slowly. "Cut off their fingers and their manhood. Do it slowly." Carl shivered. "Yes, Alpha!"
