When the Galaxy Wept
Was she the leader of the humans on the ground? This girl? The two men said those ambiguous words to each other as if the girl didn’t exist. She didn’t seem to listen to them. Harrison Gates seemed to have no idea that Emerald was in the restroom, or maybe he just wanted Emerald to watch this. Then she heard another footstep. She could tell immediately who that was. She went slowly back to the sofa, being silent for a few seconds, and then she walked along the wall and stood by the door. She watched through the dark glass carefully. “Commander, we’ll go now,” Harvey said outside the door. Emerald raised her head and saw Patrick sit down coldly on the sofa. The door on the other side was closed. The girl stood by the door for a while, and then she seemed to decide something and smiled at Patrick elegantly before she slowly walked to him. She said something, and Emerald saw Patrick frown his brows and say something back. He was cold to her and kept staring at the girl’s face. After a while, Patrick suddenly reached out his hands to take off the girl’s cloak. The jade-green cloak slid down, and the girl’s snow-white body was exposed, which suddenly made Emerald’s eyes hurt. She saw the girl clenched her fists and stand still, covering her private part, just like Emerald in the past. Patrick lowered his head and looked at her as if he was trying to see something. Then, Patrick suddenly reached out and touched the girl’s breast. The girl stumbled and fell into his arms almost at the same time because of his touch. He didn’t push her away, and his hand was still on the girl’s chest, with the other hand touching the girl’s face. Even though Emerald could only see her back and couldn’t see Patrick’s movement, she suddenly thought of the feeling when Patrick pinched her chin with his rough fingers. Emerald suddenly felt her throat dry, and her heart grieved. Tears welled up in her eyes, but she held them back. She felt, at that time, that something was falling apart deep inside her. She calmed herself down and stopped watching them. She made a gesture to the guard and left the restroom without Patrick noticing her. She left the same way she had come into the room. Emerald walked back to the pilot dorm and found her bed according to the number in the registration office. It was a top bunk. The curtain of the lower bunk was tightly closed, but she could still feel the shaking of the bed and heard the vague groaning of a couple enjoying their company. She quietly climbed to the top bunk and lay for a while, staring at the ceiling. Then, finally, she just laughed lightly. The people in the lower bunk seemed to notice her, but they didn’t stop. After a while, Foxy pulled her head out and looked up at her. Exposing her naked shoulder. The male pilots around cheered up. A young man with a perfect body who was wearing camouflage pants stoops up from the lower bunk, with his upper body naked. “Baby.” Foxy said with sweat on her forehead, and her face blushed, “Are you alright?” Emerald just shook her head. She really didn’t want to talk. Foxy looked her up and down and suddenly smiled. “I have never seen you so lifeless.” Foxy smiled coldly. “What is so special about that man, though he was rich and powerful? There are so many good guys in the cabin. I can easily find a man who is thousand times more considerate and faithful than him. The people in the Alliance were open, as was obvious from the dissolute living style of the people in Moon Sally. Emerald had never fooled around with men since she joined the mercenary, which was special in them. Therefore, when hearing Foxy’s words, a man in the opposite bed immediately offered in a low voice. “I will only love you if you are with me.” Which seemed to be a joke. All men burst into laughter. Emerald, who was pretty and honest, was supposed to be their first choice for a wife. If the men knew that she was the wild kitten of the Alliance, maybe they would be more interested in her. Therefore, some other men also began to offer themselves. Foxy was amused and waved her hand, “Guys, get in line. A heroic woman like her is scarce in the whole Alliance. You guys think you could get her so easily?” Emerald, however, pulled Foxy to the top bunk. Then she closed the curtain as the men booed from dissatisfaction. Foxy glared at her, but Emerald looked very serious. “Foxy, I want to go to the ground.” Foxy immediately shook her head, “No way! You can only go there under the Commander’s order. I thought you didn’t care about money. Why are you in such a hurry?” She thought Emerald wanted to rob the resources down there. “Not for the money.” Emerald looked at her in surprise, “I just want to have a look, and I will come back soon. I’m not lying to you, but my family might be on this planet.” “Family?” “Yeah. They went away in a spacecraft, and I can’t find them. Maybe they stayed on this planet with human civilization. If we colonize here, I hope I can find them before. Foxy, they are my only family members. I can only get down there under your cover.” Emerald was emotional, and tears flooded her eyes. This was the first time Foxy saw Emerald cry, and she felt a little shocked. Although not eager to take the risk, she murmured. “Fine, I’ll cover you. But if this is found out, it’s none of my business, and your Cheetah is mine after you come back.”It sounded reasonable. Emerald held Foxy’s shoulder to show her gratitude. “What’s your plan?” Foxy doubted her. The radars in the command center register every move of every Cheetah. How can you avoid them?” “I will space leap directly to the ground level. The radar can’t decide where I go with the interference of the atmospheric layer. If they ask, you can tell them that I went back to the Alliance.”
