When the Galaxy Wept
Robert had been aghast since Emerald took out the money, but he still said angrily,” Cooperate the hell. We lost all our planes yesterday.” Emerald smiled, “I have an alliance Cheetah in the space harbor. You can sell it on the black market. We can have three new Cheetahs with that money and this here. How’s that? Yes or no?” “Why not?” Foxy smiled, then she suddenly changed the subject, “That handsome officer yesterday was at least a captain. Why don’t you go find him?” Before Emerald answered, Robert jumped in. “Her soldiers set fire, risking their lives just to save her, so I think she must have no way out now. Wild kitten, we can make a deal now. Since I’ve lost too many things because of you, I will take fifty percent of the money we make together.” Foxy’s face changed, but Emerald said calmly. “Each of you can take fifty percent, I don’t need the money.” “Then what do you want?” Robert was confused. Emerald kept silent. Foxy looked at her with drunk eyes and laughed. “Could it be that handsome officer?” Emerald just smiled. Robert looked at the two before he swore and shouted at them, “I really can’t understand you, women. If you want something, then just go for it. Why do you have to be so complicated? I just want money and fun times.” The three founded a small alliance based on interests. Robert went to buy new Cheetahs that afternoon. Emerald wasn’t worried that he would report on her because he was an arsonist himself. Besides, he was more worried that Patrick won all his properties and embarrassed him in public compared to losing to Emerald. Foxy’s rank was Captain, so she took the lead in their team, while Emerald and Robert had the same rank, they each got their own Cheetah. Each of them found some lower rank soldiers to join their team. At last, they formed a team with ten people and three Cheetahs, which was then registered in Foxy’s Column. Their new task was transporting fuel for the expeditionary mercenaries who were exploring other galaxies. Emerald had mixed feelings. She was subconsciously tempted by Patrick’s words and even felt intuitive that she would go back to him. But it was still very difficult for her to accept him controlling her future and following his every order. She had told Jeff that Patrick was the one who treated her the best. But deep down, she knew that he sought nothing but profit and was extremely cruel. He had taken her virginity with no mercy. She would never believe that he would really fall in love with her. Maybe he was just interested in her, just not enough to be nice to her unconditionally. He had admitted that he didn’t have other women, but he hadn’t told her what price she needed to pay to look for the Earth. She was tempted and moved. After weighing the pros and cons, she thought that staying in Freedom Planet and being a mercenary may be the best choice. On the one hand, Patrick may not expect her to stay, and on the other hand, it could show her good attitude that she didn’t run away from his army if she was determined to follow him one day. Emerald had escaped the police hunt, which lasted for five days. When the captain went to Patrick in despair to report that they couldn’t find her, he was not angry anymore. Looking at the lively portrait of that woman, he was thinking about that snow-white body that was begging to be loved. After being away from her for half a year, he let her run away before he was able to have a taste of her. She was once again out of his reach. It seemed that she insisted on testing his patience, which made him a little uncomfortable. What if he really couldn’t find her one day? Luckily, the kitten was not that powerful now. She must still be in the city. Where would she hide with her smart and courageous personality? He couldn’t laugh anymore. There was no discipline in the mercenaries with hundreds of thousands of soldiers. It was as difficult as to climb up to the sky to find Emerald amongst them. “Check the people who gambled with me that day.” He said lightly. “Yes, sir.” Harvey McAdams walked in after the military police left. He was wearing the mercenary suit with a badge of Lieutenant Colonel on his shoulder. Holding a file in his hands, he couldn’t help but smile. “My Lord.” He said excitedly. “I think we have found another civilization.”Patrick looked up. Harvey handed him the file. “There is a small galaxy with one star a thousand and five hundred light-years away from us. This is the picture taken by the navigation satellite. My Lord, there are abundant resources, and we haven’t found any threatening weapons there.” Patrick looked at the pictures and files in his hand. It was a planet with blue oceans and beautiful houses in a style he had never seen before. It looked peaceful and elegant. There were also some human faces visible, which seem to have the same appearance as the people in Eternity Galaxy. It seemed they were living a happy life with gentle and warm expressions in their eyes. He suddenly remembered Emerald’s face. Her face had been covered in tears when the larvae infected her. She had told him that day that she was from the Earth, and if he found the Earth in the future, he must tell her that the Earth really existed. He then noticed that there was a long narrow line on one piece of land, which looked as if it was carved into the ground. “What’s that?” He pointed to the line. “It is probably some kind of defense work on the ground.” Harvey smiled. “The information about this planet should be strictly confidential.” Patrick stood up with a slight smile on his face. “Harvey, in the name of the Human Alliance of Eternity Galaxy and the self-government of Freedom Planet,” Harvey listened to him with respect as Patrick continued with a cold look. “We can legally colonize a planet with low-level civilization now.”
