God-Tier Like System
This b*stard! Christopher cursed inwardly and looked back at Zachary. Just now, Zachary kicked his knee very much subtly—nobody had noticed it at all. “It’s nothing, Mr. George!” As he patted the ice off of his body, Christopher continued, “It’s just a minor accident. Let’s do it again; it’ll be a perfect take this time.” In fact, Caleb was famous for his strict demand. Any human error during the shoot would leave him dissatisfied. However, considering that Christopher was merely a chef instead of a professional actor, Caleb didn’t say anything further after he heard the former’s words. He then furrowed his brows and said with a wave of his hand, “Replace the ice cubes and all the other props. Get ready for the second take.” Throughout it all, Zachary was laughing in his sleeves. While the props were being changed, he deliberately came up to Christopher as he wagged his head. Then, he provoked him and said, “A chef? Hah! You think you’re bad*ss? More like a dumb*ss!” “You think you’re funny?” Meanwhile, Christopher wasn’t triggered by Zachary’s provocation. Instead, he questioned the latter calmly. “Why? Is there a problem?” Zachary retorted. Upon hearing this, Christopher remained silent. However, just as Zachary was looking upward defiantly, Christopher took out his phone and redeemed an Intermittent Laughing Candy. Coincidentally, it was selling at 90% off at the Thumbs-Up Online Mall. “Let’s hope you can keep on laughing,” he whispered. As he grasped the candy with his right middle finger and thumb, he sent it flying into Zachary’s mouth with a flick of his fingers. Zachary coughed twice when he felt something in his throat, but he didn’t know what he had swallowed. About five minutes later, all the props were replaced. After the lighting, audio, and everything else were in position, Caleb raised his hand in front of the camera and shouted for the second time, “Action!” Once again, there were swift flashes of knives! At that moment, Christopher looked like a kung fu master who was performing the swordsmanship of a lifetime. Meanwhile, Zachary was pulling a sneer as he was about to play the same trick again and make a fool of Christopher. Somehow, he couldn’t hold himself back at this moment—he started bursting out into laughter. Amid the swish-swooshing sounds of the knives slicing through the ice, Zachary’s chuckles appeared to be rather jarring. At once, everyone’s attention was focused on him. Once he realized that something was wrong, Zachary hastily covered up his mouth. “Cut!” urged Caleb once again. “What is wrong with you, Zachary? Don’t you know that you simply need to stand aside and watch this scene quietly? What are you laughing at?” Unlike how he treated Christopher earlier, Caleb had run out of patience; he was fuming at Zachary for his rookie mistake. Although Zachary would boss Christopher around, he obviously didn’t have the guts to treat Caleb the same way, so he bowed to the latter before he humbly apologized and said, “Sorry, Mr. George! I’m so sorry!” Caleb waved his hand impatiently and responded, “Behave yourself. Replace the props and get ready for the next one.”At this point, Zachary wondered why he had laughed all of a sudden. What is going on? Meanwhile, Christopher—the culprit—acted like nothing happened. It was as though he had nothing to do with it. Before long, the new props were in place. As usual, Christopher was still using the Shutter Blade Knife Skill to carve the ice flowers. This time, Zachary minded his own business and didn’t kick the former’s knee. However, just as this shot was ending, he couldn’t resist it and burst into laughter once more. “Hahahaha!” “Cut!” Obviously, everyone could tell that Caleb was enraged this time. Since Christopher wasn’t an actual actor, Caleb could still let it go when a mistake happened. However, what exactly was Zachary’s problem? Why would he laugh when the shot was almost over? Besides, this was the second time! “Zachary Newman!” Caleb hollered. “Shut your freaking mouth! Do you still want to be in this film or not? Huh? Do you even know how to act? Just because your father is the investor of this film doesn’t mean I won’t fire you! I’m telling you this—I can still get someone else if I’m dissatisfied with you!” Indeed, Caleb had been sent over the edge. Why couldn’t Zachary stand still like a tree? Why did he have to laugh?! When he heard that Caleb wanted to get someone else, Zachary grew anxious at once. In order to make him the male lead, his father had invested tons of money in this movie. If he were replaced, he would probably be beaten to death. “Sorry! I’m so sorry!” This time, Zachary bowed even lower as his head almost touched his knees. “This is your last chance!” Caleb waved his hands again and instructed people to change the props once more. He then warned, “If you make a mistake again, I’ll replace you with someone else.” “I assure you! I won’t make a mistake again!” Zachary quickly assured. Although he swore that he wouldn’t laugh, the exact same thing and scenario happened again! His mouth was shut tightly, yet he couldn’t stop himself from laughing out loud again just as the shot was almost over. Zachary’s laughter echoed throughout the set, and it sounded extremely ear-piercing! “Zachary Newman!” After experiencing it three times, Caleb finally burst into a rage. He threw the script onto the ground before he yelled. “Are you simply trying to upset me? You’re obviously doing this on purpose! If you can’t do your job, I’ll just get someone else!” “Mr. George!” With a confused look on his face, Zachary was on the verge of crying. Caleb continued furiously, “Your job is simple—just stand still in the background! Yet, you can’t even do that! If that’s the case, do you think you can even perform during the upcoming emotional and challenging scenes?” “Mr. George, Mr. George! Give me another chance! I’m just not in top form today!” Zachary pulled a long face and begged earnestly while saying, “Once I adjust myself, there won’t be a mistake again.” “Adjust yourself? What if you can’t ever adjust yourself?! Does that mean the whole crew has to wait on you?” Caleb no longer wanted to blather with Zachary, so he simply said, “Rex, just shoot Christopher alone for this scene. As for Zachary, we’ll talk about it later.” This was no different than sentencing Zachary to death. Talk about it later? Like hell he will! Caleb simply means that he will get someone else!Even though Zachary’s father was one of the main sponsors for ‘Glutton God’, Caleb could still get a replacement whenever he wanted. “Mr. George!” shouted Zachary hysterically, but Caleb didn’t even look at him. When he saw Caleb’s response, Zachary’s slightest bit of hope was gone. At this moment, Zachary had tears and snot all over his face, but Christopher didn’t even feel sorry for him. As the saying went, the biter was sometimes bit. Besides, it was Zachary who provoked him first, and he was merely retaliating. Zachary could only blame himself for this; since he had brought this on himself, who else was left to blame? Fortunately, there was still a lot of remaining time left to use the Divine Level Knife Skills—Shutter Blade. After Zachary was dragged out of the set, the shooting process became a lot easier. Without any further mishaps, they wrapped up the scene of Christopher carving ice flowers smoothly—the result was above all expectations. After the shooting was over, Maya looked at Christopher and gushed, “It seems that Scarlett really wasn’t lying to me. Your skills are phenomenal!” “Of course!” he boasted. “Just look at who’s in front of you.” “Hehe.” She covered up her mouth and giggled before she continued, “Speaking of which, I’ve seen Scarlett use ‘Thousand Birds Song’ before, which is the hereditary skill of her family. However, why do I feel that your knife skills are even better than ‘Thousand Birds Song’? Which knife skill did you use earlier?” After all, Scarlett’s grandpa—Lawrence Sparks—was one of The Four Royal Chefs during the 15th century. What knife skills could possibly be more impressive than their hereditary ‘Thousand Birds Song’? At this point, Maya grew even more curious.
