God-Tier Like System
Christopher was fine with no sales person serving them, since it was more comfortable shopping for clothes with Samantha without anyone following them around. Samantha stopped for a while almost every time she saw a beautiful piece of clothing, but she would end up shaking her head and leaving. Puzzled by her behavior, he asked, “What’s wrong? Do you not like them?” She shook her head. “No. I kind of like them but they are too expensive. Chris, let’s just leave and go to another shop that sells more affordable clothes.” Most women would choose expensive stuff when their boyfriends offered to get them a present, which made a girl like Samantha, who was unwilling to make purchases due to the high price tags, a rare gem. This side of her reflected the precious simplicity and pristine quality in her. Her thoughtfulness broke his heart. “It’s fine. Just get whatever you like. You don’t need to help me to save money.” “It’s alright!” Knowing that Samantha would not do as he said, Christopher took a step forward in an attempt to take down the dress that she had stared at for the longest time. However, before he could touch the dress, a snarky female voice echoed over. “What are you guys doing? Who gave you the permission to touch this dress? Can you even afford it? We are kind enough to allow you to come in to have a look around, yet you intend to touch it? Who knows if your hands are clean, you wretched man! What are you going to do if you dirty the dress?” The words came from a middle-aged woman in her forties or fifties, who was probably the leader of the group of saleswomen. The woman seemed to have a high heat tolerance as she actually had a scarf wrapped around her neck despite the hot weather. Her temper was nasty, which indicated that she might be going through her menopause. Upon hearing her words, Christopher furrowed his brows. “We have to take it down to try it on before buying it. Otherwise, how are we going to know if it fits?” “Buying it?” When she heard Christopher say that he was going to make a purchase, she burst into laughter, as if she had heard the joke of the year. “Do you think that someone like you can afford it? Don’t you know that the cheapest piece of clothing that we have in our shop costs at least 3,000? Do you know how much is 3,000? It should be almost equal to your monthly salary! Are you willing to buy a piece of clothing with one month’s salary? I’m not looking down on you, but a poor wretch like you doesn’t deserve to enter our store!” The middle-aged woman roared at Christopher and she had a rather fiery temper. However, Christopher chuckled upon hearing that. Society nowadays is getting more and more interesting. No matter where I go, I keep meeting people who have their noses in the air. I can’t afford it? Even if I was poor, I would definitely force myself to purchase this dress when she insulted me this way, let alone when I am rich now after selling the wild ginseng. “Chris!” When Samantha noticed his dark expression, she tugged on his shirt and said, “Just forget it. Let’s not buy it.” The woman heard Samantha’s words, which made her look at Christopher with stronger disdain in her eyes. “Don’t worry.” He patted Samantha’s shoulder to calm her down before saying, “Go and try it out.” As he was speaking, he ignored the middle-aged woman’s objection and took down the dress. Christopher’s attitude of ignoring her and taking down the dress without her agreement nearly made her blow up. She pointed at him and scolded, “Alright, then! I told you not to touch it but you refused to listen to me. You will have to buy this dress today no matter what!”“Did I say that I am not buying?” Christopher looked at this enraged woman as if he was looking at an idiot. After he handed the dress to Samantha, the girl still stood there while looking at him worriedly, so he urged her to go and try the outfit. “Samantha, go and change.” Samantha glanced at the price tag on the clothing and looked at the middle-aged woman, whose face was flushed red, then turned to Christopher, whose expression was dark yet impassive. After hesitating for some time, she decided to listen to him and headed toward the changing room. “You…” Upon seeing Christopher urging Samantha to go and change, the middle-aged woman was so pissed that she was at a loss for words. After taking a few deep breaths, she snarled, “Jane, that dress costs 6,000! Note that down.” “6,000?” The saleswoman named Jane was stunned when she heard the price before she replied, “Rose, that dress costs only 3,000, no?” “When I said that it’s 6,000, it’s 6,000!” Rose bellowed. “Okay!” Jane dared not refute Rose’s words, so she quickly nodded. Christopher was unfazed even when he heard the woman named Rose intentionally double the price. Instead, he started surveying the store and chose some clothes that suited Samantha. Not long after that, he took down a sky-blue short-sleeved blouse. “You are touching our clothes again!” Rose blew up again when she saw him touching the blouse while appraising it. “Great! Jane, note down the price of that shirt too—it’s 10,000!” The blouse cost 5,000, yet she raised the price and claimed that it cost 10,000. It was obvious that Rose intended to put him in a spot. Nevertheless, Christopher was unperturbed by her actions and there wasn’t the slightest change in his expression. Just then, Samantha was done changing into the dress, and Christopher admired her stunning looks while rubbing his chin before walking to her side and handing her another blouse, which he had just chosen. He said, “Try this on as well.” “Chris…” The speechless Samantha could not help but to gaze at him with a worried look. “You only have to focus on trying them on. Leave the rest to me,” Christopher replied. Upon hearing his tone, Samantha knew that he would not listen to her no matter what she said, so she anxiously took the blouse and entered the changing room once again. She kept changing into the outfits that Christopher had chosen for her and just like that, she tried on almost every single piece of clothing of the latest collection in the store. As the number of clothes that Samantha tried on increased, the more furious Rose became. Anyone could tell from her expression that she was reaching her limits. When Christopher stopped asking Samantha to try on new clothes and ‘pretended’ to make payment, Rose growled, “Let me see how you are going to pay for these!” Christopher had Samantha try on over 20 outfits. After totaling up the deliberately-increased price, he had to pay a total of 260,000. In Rose’s opinion, Christopher couldn’t even afford 26,000, let alone 260,000. You enjoyed pretending to be rich, right? Now is your time to shine! Let’s just see what you are going to do when you can’t pay that amount! When he noticed the saleswomen had yet to pack the clothes that he had chosen, he asked, “Are you done packing up the clothes?” “I will pack it up right away!” One of the saleswomen subconsciously listened to him and started packing the items. However, Rose snatched the bag from the saleswoman’s hand and threw it onto the floor. “Stop pretending. He hasn’t even made his payment. Let’s just wait and see.”
