Chapter 177 You Won’t Have to Come In for Work Starting Tomorrow!

Soon, the sirens of police cars could be heard. A man led a team of police to where Christopher and Wyatt were. When Ronald Gill noticed Wyatt’s sorry state, he frowned. He sure had it good. Judging from his injuries, it seems like more than one person did that to him. Didn’t he specifically mention that there was one guy who tried to attack him? At that thought, Ronald glanced at Christopher, who stood beside them. As soon as he laid eyes on Christopher, his expression changed drastically. According to Serene, Christopher’s presence had always been a bad omen. Judging from the situation, Ronald believed that something had indeed gone wrong. If Christopher had known what Serene thought of him, he would probably put on a bitter smile. After all, he was never the one to pick a fight, but people were always trying to cross him. “Vice Captain Gill, that’s the man! He’s the one who ordered his men to beat me! I’m innocent! Look at what they did to my limbs! Vice Captain, you have to deliver justice!” Wyatt blurted out everything that he had fabricated in his mind as soon as he saw Ronald, his eyes bright while a look of delight crossed his face. The other drivers around them who knew the truth couldn’t help but mentally exclaim about Wyatt’s shamelessness. Meanwhile, Ronald was checking both Christopher and Wyatt out with a conflicted look. How should I deal with this? “Vice Captain Gill, this guy, Wyatt Guggenheim? He got beaten up by the thug he called. I didn’t call any thugs. The people around us had heard him. You can ask for their witness.” Christopher explained the situation casually while looking at Ronald with his arms folded. Initially, Ronald was feeling conflicted, but his face lit up as soon as he heard that. Great! I will know what to do if Christopher is telling the truth! With that, Ronald turned to face Wyatt with a grave expression. “Wyatt, did you tell the truth? There are witnesses around us. You will be done for if you lied to me.” Upon hearing that, Wyatt paled as he fell silent. If the other drivers around him testified against him, he wouldn’t be able to get away with the lie. Wyatt’s silence and pale face brought an incredibly dark look onto Ronald’s face. F*ck, Wyatt lied to me! I would be dead if I had believed in him! Ronald dared not cross Christopher, considering that even Jeffrey would stay out of Christopher’s way. He knew he would be dead if he crossed Christopher, for he would probably be chased out of the police station before he knew it.“Oh, so you lied to me? You sure have some guts, eh? Not only did you gather people for a street brawl that would disturb the peace in the area, but you even framed someone else! Someone, come! I want him cuffed and brought back to the police station!” Ronald barked that order to the police beside him. Upon receiving his orders, the police didn’t hesitate to handcuff Wyatt before proceeding to stuff him into the police car without a care for the injury on his legs. “Wait!” The moment Wyatt was about to be arrested, another man stepped out of his car to stop the police by directly giving Ronald orders. The moment Wyatt saw Arthur, he froze for a second before being overcome with joy. “Mr. Grant, please save me! I am Wyatt Guggenheim, the general manager of Minuet PLC! We have met prior to this!” Although other people might not know who Arthur was, Wyatt knew that he was capable despite his humble status as Andy’s butler. He was so powerful that his status was second only to Andy himself in Dune Enterprise. If Arthur interfered, even Jeffrey would have to save his dignity by releasing Wyatt. Otherwise, the police would risk incurring the wrath of Dune Enterprise’s owner, and that would come with severe consequences. Therefore, Wyatt was excited to see Arthur, as he assumed that Arthur had come to rescue him. “Mr. Grant, we’re carrying out our duties. Guggenheim had indeed disturbed the peace in the area, and had in his possession a bladed weapon. If the fingerprint on the weapon matched his, he will also be guilty of an assault. As part of the police force, I can’t just release him like that!” Knowing who Arthur was due to his reputation in Dune Enterprise, Ronald had a dark look on his face. He was also aware that Arthur might not even care to speak to a commoner. Therefore, Ronald figured that he wouldn’t be able to stop Arthur if he decided to rescue Wyatt. “This is a misunderstanding. I came because Mr. Yard called for my help. Wyatt had injured an innocent girl and offended Mr. Yard. Both actions are a disgrace to Dune Enterprise’s public image. I hereby announce that Wyatt Guggenheim will no longer be an employee of Dune Enterprise from this moment onward. The BMW X5 he drove will be seized. Wyatt, you won’t have to come in for work starting tomorrow.” Arthur announced the decision as soon as he arrived at the scene before even greeting Christopher. All the while, he maintained a calm expression, as if he had carried out such a task countless times. Andy had given him orders to look after Christopher. Seeing that Wyatt had offended Christopher, he knew clearly that the only way to quell Christopher’s anger was to give Wyatt direct punishment. “Mr. Yard, are you satisfied with how the situation is being handled?” Arthur inquired smilingly. Without showing much enthusiasm, Christopher nodded and replied, “Not bad. I’m satisfied with it.” Wyatt’s face was drained of color as soon as he heard Arthur’s decision, and his eyes seemed to have lost their previous glow. It wasn’t until Arthur stepped in that he was finally aware of the true extent of Christopher’s power and influence. Meanwhile, Ronald was also stunned to see that Arthur was smiling when he spoke to Christopher. In fact, anybody would find the fact jaw-dropping if word of it spread. After taking a deep breath, Ronald seemed to have recalled something as he ordered the police hastily, “Why are you still standing there? Arrest Guggenheim!” Bam! Upon hearing that, the police stuffed Wyatt into the car before slamming the door shut mercilessly. After greeting both Arthur and Christopher, Ronald left without dallying. “Mr. Yard, we will require your assistance tomorrow to treat President Andy’s father,” Arthur said. Christopher responded to him with a smile. “Sure. I will arrive on time.”
