God-Tier Like System
“What did you just say? The f*cking Serenade? What the hell! Tell him to wait there and don’t make a move! If he dares to do anything stupid, I’ll whallop him with my bare hands!” Jefferey’s heart furiously leaped at Serene’s words. He almost stopped breathing there and then and his face even went a few tones paler. That b*stard Neil, he better not cause any serious trouble! The Serenade is where Christopher usually works. Neil can provoke anyone he wants in the world, except for Christopher himself! I heard Christopher hangs around Director Turner these days and Director Turner even personally welcomed him. This is concrete proof that Director Turner is on exceptionally good terms with Christopher. If Neil causes trouble at The Serenade, I will be stripped of my position in no time! At that thought, he inhaled deeply and did not dare to hesitate. He immediately asked someone to drive a vacant police car at the police station and take him to The Serenade as fast as possible. When he arrived at the scene, he immediately alighted from the car and the first thing he heard was Neil’s angry curses. He looked and saw Neil delivering kicks at the people who were criticizing him. Upon catching sight of this, Jefferey felt his heart collapse. His whole body trembled before he quickly scanned the crowd for a certain figure. When he saw Christopher, who was standing at the side, Jefferey wiped away the cold sweat on his forehead and hastily ran over. “M-Mr. Christopher, I’m here. I hope that no losses were incurred?” Jefferey asked in fear; he was worried that Christopher would ask him to pay millions as compensation. Even if he sold himself, it still wouldn’t suffice. Upon hearing this, Christopher shook his head indifferently, but his expression was still dark. Then, he pointed fingers at some people nearby. “I didn’t suffer any losses. He simply condemned me and I have already landed punches where they belong. However, have a look at these people whom your cousin kicked. I demand a satisfactory answer for this.” “Mr. Christopher, don’t worry. That b*stard Neil has nothing to do all day and he only knows how to be rude. I’ve been meaning to teach him a lesson and now that he has dared to cause trouble here, I won’t let him off the hook easily!” Jefferey took a deep breath and turned toward Neil, who was still screaming and shouting. His expression darkened as he had never been this enraged to the point where he was at his boiling point. Not many people knew how scary Christopher could be, but Jefferey knew it all too well. Why did Neil cause trouble here of all places? This is Christopher’s territory! Does he want me dead? He even dared to condemn Christopher, which is unacceptable! I don’t believe for a second that Christopher said those words without any meaning behind them! If I don’t properly deal with Neil today and if news of this gets to Director Turner, I’m done for! Thoughts raced across Jefferey’s mind as he walked over to Neil with an open right palm. When he stopped in front of Neil, his right hand then reached out. Slap! While Neil was still spitting and cursing at those around him, Jefferey’s forceful slap landed on his face. Before Neil could react, the back of Jefferey’s right hand had once again slapped him across the face. Slap! Slap! It was only after Jefferey had given Neil three consecutive slaps and a few mighty kicks with a dark expression that he started to speak under Neil’s stunned gaze. “I am the chief of the police branch in Southwest District. Don’t you think that you can do whatever you please just because we’re cousins! Listen, from today onward, I am no longer your cousin. We have nothing to do with each other! Now, apologize to the people whom you have kicked and properly compensate them. If you don’t, I’ll arrest you and take severe measures. You know what happens next.”There was a ferocious look in Jefferey’s eyes. He didn’t hold back in his actions and his speech was just as cruel. The look on Neil’s face now was one of bewilderment. He never thought that Jefferey would behave like that. When he used to bully people with Jefferey’s name, Jefferey had never said anything except not to go overboard. However, he didn’t expect that Jefferey would sever all ties with him this time. Each sentence was crueler than the last! Neil stared at Christopher, who calmly stood aside, and his heart skipped a beat in fright. Then, Neil’s face turned ghostly pale. Under these circumstances, anyone with a working brain would realize that Christopher wasn’t someone to be messed with. If not, Jefferey wouldn’t have been in such a rage. When he realized this, Neil immediately rose to his feet on shaky legs. Then, he bowed and continuously slapped his own face as he muttered, “I’m sorry for kicking everyone. I shouldn’t have done that…” His face swelled up even more as a result of his own slaps and it became so bad that he found it difficult to speak. Christopher simply watched the scene with no intention of saying anything. “You forced your way around just because you’re rich. If you’re so good at it, why don’t you fight with other wealthy people?” “Yeah, you were so rude and arrogant because your cousin is the chief of a police branch. You deserve this!” “Yeah, you deserved all the beatings you took and then some! I don’t sympathize with you one bit. You should be locked up or even better, be thrown behind bars.” The murmurs continued. Many people didn’t dare to raise their voices, but they continued to mumble and complain under their breaths. They knew that the two were relatives, so they were wary of any funny tricks the two might pull off. However, the mumbles had reached Jefferey’s ears, and he wore a bitter expression as he knew for certain that Neil’s actions had enraged the crowd. For his own future, he gritted his teeth and said, “I, Jefferey Reed, swear that I will definitely punish him severely for what he has done.” As soon as the queuers heard that, their faces brightened and they stopped mumbling. When he saw that the crowd lining up at The Serenade was appeased by his words, Jefferey finally heaved a sigh of relief. Then, he nervously jogged over to Christopher and asked weakly, “Mr. Christopher, are you satisfied with this answer?” “Ask that cousin of yours to pay for everyone’s medical fees plus any other compensation expected of him. Of course, this is just my humble suggestion as a bystander. You should do as you see fit.” Christopher swept Jefferey an indifferent glance. Jefferey didn’t know what to do. It is a suggestion, that’s true, but it’s a suggestion I won’t dare to ignore! Why did this b*stard mess with Christopher for no reason? Damn it!! He complained in his mind, but he plastered a smile on his face as he parroted the orders to Neil. Upon hearing Christopher’s words, Neil was overjoyed. If he still didn’t get the hint that Christopher wasn’t someone to be messed with, he would have spent his entire life in vain. Without saying another word, Neil deposited more than 10 thousand to each person he had kicked. Hence, the crowd’s anger was completely pacified.
