God-Tier Like System
A black Maserati suddenly appeared at the spot where the line usually formed in front of The Serenade. After having lost much of their space to stand on, those in the line were criticizing the owner of the Maserati. However, Neil Strider, the owner of the Maserati, responded viciously. It was apparent that he couldn’t care less about the people around him. He ignored the criticisms and proceeded to spew some curses himself; he even started to throw punches and pushed many of those people in the line away. “You bunch of trash should look at yourselves in the mirror. This Maserati GT of mine cost more than 2 million; you can never hope to compare with it. You have no money, yet you dare to come to buy the Hundred Tonics Nourishing Soup? Only rich people can afford that soup! Get lost, you pile of trash! Don’t get in my way of buying the soup! And you dare to criticize me? Don’t you know who I am? My cousin is the chief of the police branch in the Southwest District! If you don’t scramble out of my way right now, I’ll get my cousin to throw you all in jail!” Neil kicked more people beside him away and he even spat on the ground. The enraged crowd had moved to beat him up, but they hesitated when he mentioned the chief of the police branch in the Southwest District.Everyone knew that if they accidentally provoked the wrong kind of people, they would be sent to jail. If and when that happened, they would have to experience rough treatment or even terrible pain. Christopher frowned at Neil’s behavior. There was a regulation at The Serenade which states that if one were rich enough, they could join the auction in the Imperial Room. Here, even if the rich waited in line, they wouldn’t be able to obtain the complete form of the Hundred Tonics Nourishing Soup. Putting aside Neil’s antics, Christopher looked toward Luna, who was also surprised by the incident. At the moment, her eyebrows were furrowed and her smooth face showed a hint of displeasure. “Ms. Sears, what is wrong with this guy? Doesn’t he know about the circumstances in The Serenade?” He walked over with a look of confusion. When she heard that, her displeased expression turned into one with a careless smile. Then, she gently nodded as she answered, “I’m not too sure. It was already like this as soon as he arrived.” “Leave it to me!” Upon hearing Luna’s words, Christopher expressed confidence and walked in the direction of Neil, who was still cursing left and right. Shock colored her face when she heard Christopher utter those four words. Then, her exquisite lips curved into a smile, which formed a perfect arc on her face. “Didn’t you know that the Hundred Tonics Nourishing Soup you receive here isn’t the complete set? If you want the complete version, you have to enter the Imperial Room! You don’t even have to line up there as you just need to participate in the auction.” Christopher gave Neil an indifferent look as he stated calmly. As long as it wasn’t something too extreme, Christopher’s policy was to play nice first before he threw punches. After all, he was a man of reason, not a battle maniac. However, he wouldn’t have a nice tone for the person in front of him. Upon hearing that, an awkward look flashed across Neil’s face before he glared viciously at Christopher, who had exposed his ignorance. “How does it concern you whether I know about that or not? Who do you think you are? I have the money so I can do what I want! What are you going to do about it? I’m Neil Strider; come over and hit me if you can!” Christopher’s friendly expression darkened at Neil’s answer. Then, the corner of his lips turned upward. Since Neil had already described it as such, Christopher really had no choice but to lay a hand on him. Whack! Christopher balled up his hands into tight fists and a moment later, he threw a mighty punch. The punch landed on Neil’s nose under the victim’s shocked gaze. A loud sound rang out from the clashing of fist and nose. The minute that Neil was punched, his whole body was sent flying into the window of the Maserati and in an instant, the poor window broke under the impact of him crashing into it. Neil’s hand landed on the broken glass and a garish wound was slashed open on his arm. Bright red blood trickled from his arm, which were then accompanied by his screams. “F*ck you! How dare you hit me! Since you have a death wish, I’ll get my cousin here at this instant. You need to get some sense knocked into you to learn the rules.” Neil was shocked when he felt the brute force of Christopher’s punch. He knew that amount of power could only come from trained hands and he was also aware that no matter how amazing he was, he could never win in a fight against Christopher. Without any hesitation, Neil shakingly moved his hand away from the car window and took his phone out with his good hand. He was about to make the call when he noticed Serene, who had just arrived on the scene. “You there! Yes, you. Go and report to your chief right now. Tell him that his cousin has been beaten up at The Serenade. I swear I’ll kill this b*stard. Hurry up! What are you doing just staring at me like some retard?” Neil was under immense pain at that moment and even his good hand was shaking as it held the phone. His eyes brightened when he saw Serene, for he had seen that girl in Jefferey’s office before. It was why he subconsciously gave Serene the orders. She had heard what Neil said. Then, she glanced at Christopher before turning to glare coldly at Neil. Not many people knew how much Jefferey feared Christopher, but she did, thanks to those few incidents that had happened not long ago. Her chief’s knees would buckle every time he saw Christopher. If Jefferey saw the state that Neil was in, he might just deliver a slap on Neil’s face. So, Serene didn’t move a muscle when she heard Neil’s words. Christopher looked at the newcomer to the scene in surprise. He couldn’t understand why she would be here at that moment, but when he recalled what Noah said before, the reason became clearer to him.Noah had mentioned before that he would have people keep an eye on Christopher’s shop and now, Jefferey was the appointed person. Christopher hadn’t expected Noah to watch over the Thumbs-Up Hotel and The Serenade and it was such a coincidence that Serene was here today. At this, a faint smile crept onto Christopher’s face. “Ms. Hayes, since he had specifically asked for Director Reed, you might get into trouble if you don’t do as he says, yes?” Upon hearing that, Serene immediately shot a glare at him. She knew very well the history between that he shared with Jefferey, so she didn’t dare to dilly dally as she quickly whipped out her phone and called Jefferey. “Chief, your cousin Neil Strider was just bullied at The Serenade. He has requested your backup immediately!” Serene immediately reported after the call went through.
