On this day, Samantha was wearing a pink chiffon dress. Her shoulders were bared and her fair, rosy skin stood out against the fabric of her dress. With her clear, bright eyes and the cute bow at her waist, she looked extraordinarily beautiful. The dress was one of the outfits that Christopher bought for her previously. “You look so pretty today, Samantha. When I look at you, the other pretty women fade into the background,” he complimented, staring at her in awe as if he was looking at an angel. A hint of happiness appeared on her face and she bobbed her head lightly before lowering it. It thrilled her to be complimented by the person she liked. “Are we leaving now, Chris? I’ve yet to notify my mother!” she informed him before asking for his opinion. In response, he shook his head. “No, not yet. We’re going shopping to get your aunt a surprise present.” Startled, she paused. She didn’t know what he was talking about but she did not ask.Following that, he took up her hand, hailed a cab and gave the driver the name of a place. Upon hearing where he wanted to go, the driver was somewhat surprised. The place Christopher named was a busy shopping center with a multitude of stores that had daily turnover rates running into millions. Next to Christopher, Samantha put on her seatbelt silently. Since she knew he had his reasons for doing what he did, she was sensible enough not to ask. After a few minutes, they arrived at their destination. First, Christopher got out of the cab before rounding to Samantha’s side, opening the door and taking up her hand to lead her out of the car. Following that, they strolled in the direction of one of the stores. Soon, she could read the large lettering on the signboard above the storefront. ‘Brentwood City Ferrari Car Dealership.’ They were simple words but when she read the sign, she had to stare at it in amazement. Ferrari cost millions! Surely Christopher isn’t looking to buy one? Overwhelmed, she opened her mouth and then proceeded to cover her mouth with her hands. Even so, it was hard to hide the expression on her face. “I’m going to buy you a Ferrari worth a few million today, Sammy. And soon after that, I’ll get you a car worth tens of millions. You’ll be able to drive whichever one you want and get rid of whichever one you don’t. We’re no longer wanting for money!” he announced to her with a smile that was growing in confidence, holding onto her hands that were starting to tremble after she took in his words. Once she heard that, she breathed a sigh of relief and patted herself on the chest. Thing was, she had never been this up close and personal to such luxury cars before. They were truly too expensive for her, so it wasn’t strange for her to have such a reaction. “W-Well… The blue one over there, then.” She pointed timidly toward the right and gave him a careful glance, afraid he would frown at her. “Alright. How much does that Ferrari cost? I’m prepared to pay for it and drive it off the lot right now,” he told the store clerk. In an instant, the store clerk’s expression turned giddy. The blue Ferrari cost more than four million, and the woman’s lucky pick meant he would undoubtedly get a high commission today. After shooting a grateful look at her, he took a deep breath and courteously informed Christopher, “That car is a little more expensive, sir, about four or five million. Her meaning could not be more obvious—it was clear that she wanted the blue Ferrari, and the Ferrari was precisely the one Samantha had just pointed out. Of course, Christopher frowned because these two people were none other than his most-hated enemies, Leonard Baker and Tina Jones.
