Chapter 98 On The Brink Of Death

“Run. Keep on running. You'll both end up in my hands anyways.” The chilly eerie voice followed after Sylvia and Ian as they ran. The whole building was shaking. Seeing that a boulder was about to crash on them, Sylvia swiftly jumped on Ian, shoving the two of them to the side 'Bang.' The big stone fell to the ground, hurling out particles of stones and dust up in the air. “Are you okay?” Ian who was pressed down below asked. “I'm alright.” Sylvia shifted her body away from his embrace and got up to her feet. “I told you; it is futile to run away from me. Why don't you just come forward willingly while I bestow you two a painless death.” The eerie voice said with a bit of amusement, perhaps from seeing Ian and Sylvia helpless state. ‘Susu, how many more minutes do you need?’ [Just one minute.] ‘Okay.’ Sylvia forehead was clung with sweat and dust. Since she was the one who withstood the impact of the crash, her whole body was covered in dust from head to toe. Ian on the other hand seems to have suffered a minimal damage with only few dirt clinging to his body. “I feel like the restriction has been lifted.” Ian announced as he felt the shackle preventing him from summoning Huji loosened. He could now feel Huji existence in his consciousness and communicate with him. He hurriedly got up to his feet and summoned the young dragon out. The young dragon had already been irritated when it found that it couldn’t communicate with its master. The moment he was summoned out, Huji let out a furious roar to vent out his frustration. 'Roar!!' The roar of the dragon beast reverberates through the whole building, sending out another massive shockwave.“Ha-ha-ha.” Seeing Huji appearance, the red core burst out into another excited laugh. “It's the dragon lord descendants. It looks like the heaven is really on my side today. Although it’s still a kid, it can still fill the tiny gap between my teeth.” Furious at the core statement, Huji let out another angry roar and charged at it. He could detect a huge bloodthirsty aura radiating from the core’s body showing that it must have killed a lot of people to have attain that aura. Not only that, he could also detect a dragon aura on its body. Since the other party wasn’t a dragon, this can only mean one thing. It must have killed a lot of the dragon race. At this, Huji became even more angry and his attack became even more violent. Using the battle distraction, Sylvia grabbed Ian's hand and swiftly dashed towards the exit. Just as they were a distance away from the entrance, Sylvia suddenly felt her whole body went cold, as if she had just entered a danger zone. “Fuck!” Analyzing the urgency of the situation, she hurriedly utilized her wind ability and sent Ian flying out of the opening behind the wall. The whole scenario took place within a blink of an eye. “Sylvia!” [Host!] Two voices shouted at the same time but it was already too late. Huji noticed the shift in his master mental state and was about to dashed over to save Sylvia out of her predicament but was soon again blocked by core. 'Boom' The whole floor was covered in a wave of flame, sending out a burning heat that disintegrate everything down its path. Since Ian was already far away from the attack, he was not affected none the least. “No!” Ian face was filled with tears when he saw the massive ball of flame enveloping the whole floor. As if receiving a signal, the whole cliff began to crumble like a piece of sand. “Crown prince!” Amos sharp eyes noticed a black figure falling out of the cliff opening. When he saw that the appearance of the figure was Ian whom he had been looking for, he hurriedly rushed over to catch him. “You're safe. This is great. This is truly great.” Amos cried tears of joy when he saw Ian perfectly fine and alive. “No, let go of me!” Ian struggled out of his embrace. “I've to get back inside. Sylvia is still in there. I've to get her out of there!” “What did you say?” Miley didn't bother to wait for Ian reply before dashing over in the direction of the falling cliff along with her summoned beasts. “Wait for us, vice president!” Walker shouted and followed after her. The others also followed one after the other. “I'll leave our boss to you two.” Atlas finished casting the last healing spell on Tyron and left him in Amos care as he ran after the others. “What do you mean by Sylvia is still inside? Were you two together?” Amos was shocked by the sudden event. “It's all my fault. If she hadn't tried to saved me, she wouldn't have died. No, I have to go back in there and save her.” Ian soon regains his clarity and ran forward. “Wait.” Amos was about to chased after him. But seeing Tyron figure lying before him, he couldn’t help but stop his charge. ... Inside the research center, the whole floors were already covered in stones and fallen beams. On the third floor where Sylvia was, the battle between the core and the dragon was still ongoing amidst the tiny space created by the aftermath of their battle. “Okay. I think I've played with you long enough.” As the eerie voice uttered, a loud rumbling sound followed by the sound of falling stones filled the small space. Soon a gigantic figure stepped out of the collapsed stones, it whole body glistening with a red hue. Standing behind the red core stood the huge giant Mecha. Its right hand which had already transformed into a canon weapon was emitting a white discharge as a result of the cooling effect. One could definitely tell that it was the one behind the earlier chaos. As if receiving an order, the giant mecha lifted up its right hand and pointed it at Huji. “Don't worry, I'll make sure you don't die alone. Once I’m out of here, I'll let your parents join you on the way to the underworld.” “Roar!” The young dragon let out a furious roar, its golden pupils shone brightly as its attack power increased. “Oh, you're burning your soul power. Looks like you're really bent on going all out on me. But I must say, you dream too much if you think you can take me down with that punny strength of yours. Maybe if you had grown a little more, you can. But that’s just a wishful thinking to you, kiddo.” Just as its voice ended, the Mecha behind the red core suddenly fired a shot at Huji. Huji detected the immense danger behind that shot and immediately shrink his body to evade the attack. But as if it had predicted his trajectory, the blast of the flame followed after him like a metal attracted to a magnet. Huji knew that there was no way to outrun it. But facing it head on would also result to his death. No matter how much he cracks his head for a solution, he knew that there was no way out of it than to face it head on. Just as the blast was about to get to him, the whole flame suddenly vanished into thin air. “Isn't it cowardly to be facing a weaker opponent than you?” Huji opened his tightly shut eyes and lifted his head to look at the figure that had just save him from the jaw of death. Floating in front of him was Sylvia, who was holding a long sword constructed from pure energy. But that wasn't all. Huji noticed that Sylvia countenance had undergone a huge change. It was as if the person in front of him wasn't Sylvia but a devil who had just emerged from the deep depth of hell. “You didn't die from that attack?” The core seems surprised to see Sylvia still alive. “Well, that's an interesting thing to think about.” Right now, the current 'Sylvia' was emitting an icy chill that could make one desist away from her. Her eyes were frosty cold but one could still see a strange sense of calmness in them. Despite her disheveled appearance, she looks like a heroic individual who was about to go on a battle. Of course. There's indeed a battle about to ensue.'Sylvia' lifted the long sword constructed from pure energy and pointed it at the core. “Since you find preying on the weak amusing, why don't I show you what it’s actually like to prey on a weaker party.” Hearing itself being called a weak indirectly, the red core became enrage and its body began to emit out more red mist. “Kill her! I want the both of them dead!” The still mechanism began to move at command and launched several barrages of attack at 'Sylvia' and Huji. Since they were in an enclosed place, the speed of the attacks was much faster than usual. In her view, 'Sylvia' saw the incoming attack heading towards her in a slow motion. A sneer appeared on her lips as she brandished her sword forward. A white shimmering light erupted from the sword and went on to meet the incoming attack at vast speed. But that didn't stop there. After absorbing the energy of the attack, the light continued to charge forward. The Mecha suddenly noticed this and activated the protective shield to protect its body. But it seems to have underestimate the might behind the attack. Like a cloud, the bright light went through its protective shield and then through its metallic shell body that seems indestructible. Like that, the gigantic Mecha was split into two, crashing down into the pile of dirt. Not only that, all the operating functions inside its body seems to have undergo a big damage. 'Sylvia' return to her previous posture, raising her head to look at the floating core. Her eyes appeared colder and more indifferent. “Who are you?” The red core finally felt fear when it saw the calm look in the girl eyes.
