A handsome young man don in a white robe appeared on the screen. Under his eyes were two dark circles. However, in contrast to his haggard expression, the young man appeared to be in a good mood. “Hmmm, hmmm.” He loudly clears his throat. “Hum, how do I begin. Well, it doesn't matter anyway. Hello, everyone. My name is Athan.” His cheerful voice echoed through the room. “I'll be showing you my daily life at the research center.” The view of the camera shifted, displaying several people don in a white robe as they move on about. “It's quite boring, isn't it? Yeah, I know. I also find it boring too. But wait till I reveal to you the secret project we've been working on. You’re going to be so wowed by it.” “Hey, Athan. What are you doing by standing over there? You should get back to work. There's so much work to do and yet you’re here dilly-dallying around.” The stern voice of a man sounded in the background. “Yo, Vidan. What do you mean by dilly-dallying. I've only been gone off my duty for ten minutes. Look at my eye ball. They are all swollen red. I feel like they might burst out if I kept on working.” Athan protested. “Pst.” The young man named Vidan snorted. “Do not think that I didn't saw you applying some irritation drop to your eyes. Also, wipe off that makeup you got under your eyes. You look like a swollen panda.” “Ha-ha-ha.” Athan burst into a laugh after being exposed by the other party. “I never knew that you love me this much, Vidan. Spying on me during working hours, that’s just too much.” “I wouldn’t do that if a certain person doesn’t skip work during the working hours. What are you doing?” Perhaps noticing what was in Athan's hand, Vidan curiously walked over. “Oh, this.” The camera angle switched, revealing Athan’s face. Standing beside him was a handsome man who appears to be in his 30’s. “This is called V-logging.” Athan answered. “I’m presenting my daily life to my devoted audience. It’s the trend going on the internet lately. Hey everyone, say hello to Vidan.” “It's not like you’ve got anyone watching you.” Vidan saw that Athan was only recording a video and immediately shifted his attention away. “Stop loitering around. WARLO 33764 is still undergoing a beta testing. We should check to see if there’s any error that need fixing before it's being deployed to the front line.” The scene then switches, showing the daily life of this researcher called Athan. Most were regular talk about the huge crush he had on a certain female researcher and the people he has some vendetta with, whom he considers to be his love rival. “It's here. It's here!” Athan excited face appeared on the screen. “The WARLO 33764 beta testing was a success. It’s finally going to be deployed to the frontline. This is the beginning of a new era for humanity. Wow, I got goosebumps thinking of it. Let me take you guys to the testing ground to take a look at our life-changing project.” He ran forward, the camera background shaking along with his charge. Soon, he arrived at an opened space and his pace began to decline. “Wow, there are so many people here.” “Oh, Athan.” One of the researchers sighted him from the distance and called. “I see that you are also here to watch the live test.” Athan jogged over. “Of course. This is a project carried out by all of us. So, tell me why I wouldn’t be there to witness its commemoration. Also, the fact that my name will be among those who have contributed a great deal to humanity is really something to be prideful of.” His voice held a hint of boastfulness as he said. “Yeah, yeah. I can see the excitement written all over your face.” “Oh, it's starting. It's starting.” The angle of the camera shifted. Both Ian and Sylvia soon saw the thousands of researcher don in a white coat, standing together on a wide opened space. At the center of the crowd, stood a giant humanoid robot. It was the same style as the giant robot behind them. “Begin the operation!” As soon as the command was given, an opening appeared on the chest area of the robot. Someone from the crowd flew into the opening and the opened passage shut back. After some seconds, the eyes of the robot lit up with red light. The first thing to move was its hand, and then followed by its foot. Both limbs move with a great flexibility, just like how a human limb would. Its body began to rise up in the air. Raising its arms, a machinery was deployed. ‘Boom.’ A big wave of dusty wind swept over everyone on the scene. When air finally settled, all that laid before everyone’s eyes was a total destruction. “It’s a success.” Ian and Sylvia watched in awe, surprised by the huge destructive power the robot brought along with its attack. Since the launching was successful, the scene shifted to Athan normal daily life routine. “They are here. The abyssal devils are here. There's no escape of it. We are all going to die.” A frightened Athan appeared on the screen. His body kept trembling as he kept muttering about the abyssal devil. “Professor, what do you think we should do?” A voice asked. “I don't know.” A man voice answered. “The front line has fallen and the abyssal devils seems to have broken through the defense line. From what I can tell, we’ve all been surrounded.” “Does that mean there’s no way out. Has the country finally abandoned. But we've done so much--” “It's not the country.” The professor answered. “If it’s not the country, then…” The researcher paused in the midway of his sentence. “Don't tell me... Those bastards. How dare they betrayed us.” “So, is this the end of Starry Sky planet?” “I'm afraid so.” “I don't want to die. No, I can’t die like this. Mom. I want my mom.” One of the researchers broke down totally. But since everyone were each with their own thoughts, there was no one to console him. “Don’t we still have the battle spaceship. Even though it's still in its testing phase, we might be lucky enough to escape through the void with it.” While the suggestion sounds hopeful, everyone knew how dangerous such decision was. Still, they all agreed with the professor. Shortly after, the screen turned black, signifying the end of the video feed.
