Upgradable Space: Reborn to Survive the Apocalypse
Most of the abilities in the system were useless. Only a small number were truly powerful or had special functions. Because of that, Caroline had recently lost interest in duplicating other people's abilities. What if the storage space duplicated a bunch of trash abilities again? Now she had a new option. She could delete two-thirds of the abilities in the system and keep only the best ones. Caroline smiled and tapped the screen. The screen flipped to the next page. A new line of text appeared. "Please keep searching for the final color of energy." She flipped again. "Everything depends on you." Seeing these two messages on the Zero System, Caroline felt a strange sense of seriousness. The Storage System and the Zero System were rarely this solemn. She didn't have time to think too much about what it meant. She tapped on the newest entry—cyan energy. Cyan Energy: Natural Energy, Owned: 0. When she saw it was natural energy, Caroline rubbed her chin. If she guessed right, Kay's ability and Francis's ability should both fall under cyan energy. As for the final orange energy, she already knew what it was called—Special Ability. Shane's energy and the energy of that giant fish both belonged to that category. The storage space itself hadn't changed much. But the place that once felt dull and lifeless, like a sealed room, now had wind. It felt more natural. More alive. Less like a space, and more like a real world. For some reason, Caroline had a strange thought. She suddenly felt like she was creating a world of her own. In a rare good mood, she took a walk into the mountains. She picked some wild mushrooms and fresh bamboo shoots. She snapped one bamboo shoot open and checked it. It was incredibly tender. Just smelling it made her sure it would taste great. She took two of them, planning to feed the mother panda later when no one was around. Thinking about the hungry panda cubs waiting at home, she stopped wandering and quickly left the storage space to head back. As she rushed toward the house, a loud noise came from the residential area. Among it was a man's miserable screaming. After multiple upgrades from spring water, Caroline's senses were far sharper than normal. Just from the sound, she recognized the voice. It was the man who had just slapped Kay. Caroline suddenly got curious. Hmm, letting the panda cubs wait ten more minutes wouldn't hurt, right? She could take a quick look. The panda cubs, lying in their cribs and waiting for Caroline, had no words. Watching drama was clearly written into the DNA of the people of Caswana. When Caroline squeezed closer, she realized, Wow, there's a lot of people. Three layers inside, three layers outside. She couldn't get in at all. She wasn't about to use abilities or force just to watch the drama. She pulled a stool out of the storage space, stepped on it, and stretched her neck to look. Inside the crowd, a man was lying on the ground, rolling and screaming. Wasn't that Matt Kahler, the trashy cousin who slapped Kay? Kay stood nearby, her face full of fury. Her palm faced upward, and lightning jumped between her fingers. "Ahhh! You vicious witch! Bitch! I'll kill you! I'll kill you!" Matt screamed at the top of his lungs. Kay frowned slightly, clearly annoyed. She released two more bursts of electricity. Matt's whole body convulsed. Foam spilled from his mouth. His eyes rolled back as he collapsed on the ground. It looked even worse than what Francis had suffered earlier. The onlookers suddenly stepped back in fear. A clear empty space formed around Kay. "She's going to kill him! Someone call management!" "That woman is ugly and cruel! Is she trying to electrocute him to death?" "Ability users! Cursed ability users! So arrogant and violent!" The crowd buzzed with angry whispers. Caroline had been on the edge of the crowd. When everyone retreated, she ended up standing right at the front. She put the stool away and met Kay's eyes. What she saw there was tightly restrained madness. Caroline didn't know what had happened before this. Judging from Kay's reaction, she had a feeling that Kay was going to kill someone. "Where's my mom?" Kay spoke coldly. Matt still sprawled on the ground, didn't move. No one knew if he was alive or dead. Without hesitation, Kay lifted her military boot and stomped hard on her cousin's hand. "ARGHHHHH!" The scream that followed was so painful it made people shiver.
