Silver flew over and pecked the man on the head. A trail of blood instantly trickled down. Then Handsy and Medusa moved. They wrapped around his arms and legs and pulled him up in the air, like a big human X. When Tyler heard the noise from Raven's stomping and ran up to the rooftop, what he saw was ... a naked man hanging in the air! His clothes had already been burned off by Jet's fireball. The pale, skinny guy was being held up by Handsy and Medusa, dangling mid-air. Tyler was stunned, but he quickly shifted, trying to block the view from anyone behind him. But Caroline, who was right behind him, still saw it. She was shocked. What the hell was this disturbing scene? But what happened next left no time for either of them to worry about it. They had to get ready to fight! Before they could react, the man hanging in the air suddenly yanked hard with his limbs. He actually forced Handsy and Goldy to shift! His strength was insane. Then Caroline saw a third hand suddenly pop out from the middle of his chest. Yes, a third hand. That hand held a knife that looked like bone.The blade was sharp. It slashed toward Handsy and Medusa, still wrapped around him. Medusa's tough branches and Handsy's huge leaves were sliced right off! The man dropped smoothly to the ground. He stood facing Caroline and Tyler like a monster straight out of hell. His head was bleeding from Silver's peck. His face was covered in blood. His hands and body were burned, and his back was torn up from Raven's bites, so deep you could see his spine. Yet there he stood, smiling at Caroline and Tyler. In a cheerful voice, he said, "You're the owners of these little pets, right? Give them to me to play with, and I'll let you live." Caroline frowned. She didn't waste time, she reached out and aimed straight for his throat. An ice spike shot out and pierced through his throat, right through the flesh. The man dropped instantly. Then he vanished. Nobody thought he was dead. Even Caroline was on edge, scanning the area. She was sure her ability had pierced the man's throat. But she had a strong feeling that he wasn't dead. He was still hiding. That creepy feeling put her on high alert. So Caroline made a decision—one that she later felt was absolutely the right choice. She used Crow's ability. But to use it, she burned all three of her daily refresh chances. Special Ability: Limited Foresight. It was her first time using it. Her question was, "Tell me everything about that strange man!" Then a bunch of disturbing images appeared in her mind. From them, she could tell the man was terrifying, twisted, and absurdly powerful.
