Stronger Every Time I Die
Mr. Zion pointed at Cindy and barked, “You barged into our company and bullied our supervisor. You need to apologize to her! Otherwise, don’t even think about leaving!” Cindy immediately put on an exaggerated look of fear. “Mr. Zion, you have no idea how sharp this brat’s tongue is! I was scared to death!” Her dramatic act made Arthur sick to his stomach. How could someone be this disgusting? The commotion had drawn attention, and employees from nearby offices started gathering. As they saw Cindy’s over-the-top performance, a flicker of disdain crossed their faces. Seeing Cindy act so aggrieved only inflated Mr. Zion’s arrogance. He turned back to Arthur and snapped, “Kid, apologizing isn’t enough. You need to beg Cindy for mercy! Otherwise, you’re not walking out that door!” His words caused murmurs among the crowd. Someone finally stepped in to mediate. “Mr. Zion, let it go. He’s just a kid. Just let him leave.” “Yeah, we still have work to do. This is just wasting time.” Beg for mercy? That was ridiculous. Zion’s face darkened. “What? Someone walks into our company and causes trouble, and you want us to just sit back and take it?” The person hesitated but ultimately didn’t argue further. Tammy bit her lip, unable to stay silent. “Mr. Zion, he didn’t actually bully Cindy. He just wanted to speak with Mr. Young.” It was Cindy who had picked a fight with him first—though Tammy didn’t dare say that last part out loud. Zion frowned. “Whose side are you on? Why are you defending an outsider?” Then he turned back to Arthur, his tone sharp. “Brat, beg Cindy for mercy! Otherwise, don’t blame us for getting rough.” Before Arthur could respond, the doors to the biggest office suddenly opened, and a man in his fifties stepped out. His hair was streaked with white, but his sharp eyes carried an undeniable authority. He walked straight toward them, exuding a presence that commanded attention. “Zion, what’s going on?”At the sound of his voice, Zion immediately turned around, his entire demeanor shifting. Gone was the arrogant bully—he instantly put on a flattering smile. “Apologies, Mr. Young! Just a small issue, I’ll take care of it right away.” Hearing his title, Arthur’s eyes lit up. He immediately called out, “Mr. Young, I’m here to acquire your company!” The room fell silent. Stanley Young had been in a terrible mood lately, and now someone was shouting about buying his company right in front of him? Zion jumped in shock, then spun around and roared, “Shut up, you brat!” Arthur ignored him and pressed on. “Mr. Young, I’m serious. We should discuss this properly.” Stanley was caught off guard. It was true—he had put the company up for sale, and someone had recently contacted him about a potential acquisition. The details hadn’t been finalized yet, and he had actually been on his way out to meet the interested party. Stanley looked at Arthur, taking in the school uniform. It seemed highly unlikely, but he still asked, “Are you representing Mr. Watson?” Arthur paused, then shook his head. “No. I want to acquire your company myself.” Mr. Watson. So the potential buyer had been exactly who he thought it was. If Stanley was about to finalize the deal with him, Arthur was just in time. If they signed the contract, Arthur would have no chance. Finding another company with this much potential that was also up for sale wouldn’t be easy. Hearing Arthur’s response, Stanley was speechless. But he remained patient and said, “Young man, this is a workplace. It’s good to be curious, but you should focus on your studies. Work hard, gain knowledge, and one day, you’ll have the chance to build a successful career.” Stanley assumed Arthur was just a kid curious about how businesses operated. He had to admit, the boy had guts—facing so many people, he wasn’t the least bit intimidated. His back was straight, his stance composed. That level of confidence was rare. But Cindy and Zion panicked when they saw Stanley about to dismiss Arthur so easily. Cindy discreetly pinched Zion’s arm, signaling him to act. Zion quickly jumped in. “Mr. Young, this kid barged in here and bullied Cindy. We can’t just let him off so easily.” Stanley frowned, giving Zion a cold glance. “There are security cameras. Should I pull the footage and see what really happened? Do you think I don’t know what kind of people you two are?” His voice carried an undeniable authority. Zion and Cindy stiffened, their faces turning pale. Neither of them dared to say another word.
