Stronger Every Time I Die
“Whew…” Everyone couldn’t help but gasp when they heard Arthur’s words. Disrespectful remarks? Just how offensive had they been for Arthur to knock out the man’s entire set of teeth? Spencer and Nancy immediately turned to look at Ashley. “Ashley, what happened exactly?” Before Ashley had left for Heaven Island, she had given Spencer and Nancy a general explanation. They’d been worried the whole time. But every time they asked, Ashley only told them the good parts. She never mentioned anything about a conflict with President Holland. Arthur’s identity was a secret. Ashley hadn’t told them anything about it. Now that the truth could no longer be hidden, Ashley had no choice but to explain what had really happened back then. After listening to her, everyone in the hospital room fell silent. Ryder was the first to speak, cursing under his breath. “That President Holland… what a bastard!” Hugo added, “Arthur, you did the right thing. As men, it’s our responsibility to protect the women we care about!” Spencer and Nancy’s hands trembled with fury. Their precious daughter—whom they had cherished from childhood—had been slandered with disgusting rumors by a stranger. Spencer immediately turned to Ryder and said, “Mr. Ryder, this all started because of my daughter. Right now, what matters most is going to Tamaria and getting Mia out!” “Our Gibson family might not be from some powerful clan, but if there’s anything we can do—anything at all—please say the word. Even if it means going through hell, we won’t back down.” His tone was resolute. This happened because of his daughter. Whatever consequences came, he would face them without hesitation. He didn’t blame Arthur for what he did. On the contrary—Spencer admired Arthur’s decisiveness and courage in protecting Ashley. He had chosen the right son-in-law. Nancy added, “Exactly! I have a company under my name—we can help financially too. Mr. Ryder, whatever you need, just say the word. We’ll give everything we’ve got.” As parents, Spencer and Nancy deeply understood what Ryder must be feeling right now. If Ashley had been publicly humiliated like that, and then kidnapped, they’d be out of their minds too. Ryder was desperate to save his daughter—but he didn’t blame Arthur at all. Spencer’s promise was more than enough for him. Hugo and Mateo also chimed in. “Spencer, anything you need from us—don’t hesitate to ask.” Mia was their student. As her teacher and principal, they would not stand aside. Ryder nodded gratefully. He immediately began discussing rescue plans with Hugo and the others. Not a single person in the room even considered actually bringing Arthur to Holland as ransom. President Holland was the Prime Minister of Tamaria. Being publicly humiliated by Arthur—having two rows of teeth knocked out—was a massive blow to his pride. If they really delivered Arthur, they’d be sending him to his death. Ryder loved his daughter deeply, but he would never sacrifice another’s life to save her. Arthur let out a sigh. He stood up and turned to Wind. “Let’s go. We’re heading to Tamaria.” As he spoke, he moved toward the door. Everyone in the room was shocked. They were already thankful Arthur had returned safely from Heaven Island. And now he wanted to walk into Tamaria himself? That was insane! Ryder immediately grabbed his arm and said urgently, “Arthur! Stay here at the hospital. Let us adults handle this.”In Ryder’s eyes, Arthur and Mia were still just kids. They were students—they should focus on their studies, not risk their lives. Hugo quickly agreed. “Arthur, you and President Holland already have bad blood. Going now would be walking into a trap! You can’t go.” Mia and Arthur were both his students. He couldn’t afford to lose either of them. Arthur looked helpless. “Please, trust me. Leave this to me. I’ll bring Mia back safely.” His voice was firm. But Hugo and the others disagreed. “Arthur, Tamaria may be a small country, but President Holland is still the Prime Minister. He has an entire government backing him. You can’t take him on.” Seeing that they were still unconvinced, Ashley quickly stepped in. “Mr. Hugo, Mr. Ryder—please, believe in Arthur. He’ll bring Mia back safe and sound!” The moment Ashley took Arthur’s side, everyone exchanged surprised glances. Spencer and Nancy reached out and grabbed Ashley’s hand, eyes filled with concern, silently asking— Did she know something they didn’t?
