Stronger Every Time I Die

Chapter 643 Groveling Kings, Blinded Dogs

But now, here they were—watching Solivair bowing and scraping in front of this man named Wind? How—how was that possible?! Who was this person… that could make Solivair act like this? Zane’s heart sank to rock bottom. Solivair had said he’d leave him to be dealt with by that man? He was a senior official in Seacity, after all! Sure, Seacity was far below Evergrand City, and his status couldn’t compare to Solivair’s— But ever since he got introduced to Solivair through Zac, hadn’t he served him diligently? Always loyal and hardworking? And yet, Solivair just handed him over without a second thought. Zane finally began to calm down and rapidly ran through his mind: what kind of power must this man hold, to make Solivair treat him with such respect? Wind had no interest in wasting time with them. His tone was cold. “Since your dog bit someone, then you can cut off one of your own hands.” “What?!” Everyone present was stunned. Back on Heaven Island, Wind had already learned what Solivair had done to Arthur. If it weren’t for the current circumstances, Wind would’ve hacked Solivair to pieces right then and there. He dared to harm the boss? He had a death wish. Solivair stammered in fear, “N-no-no, Mr. Wind, t-this man isn’t my dog. He’s got nothing to do with me!” Then something seemed to occur to him. He quickly added, “Right—he’s Zac’s biological father! Zac shamelessly came to me just a while back—I had no idea he’d offend you! I really didn’t know, Mr. Wind!” As he spoke, his knees buckled completely, and he dropped straight to the floor in front of Wind! This scene left Finley and Zane totally dumbstruck. Solivair’s attitude wasn’t just respectful—it was fearful. Deep, bone-deep fear. Just who was this man in front of them?! Panic gripped them both. Zane began frantically begging for mercy. Arthur had no interest in this circus. His mind was focused entirely on the emergency room door. But the nonstop groveling from Solivair and Zane was growing louder by the second. Arthur’s patience snapped. “Get the hell out,” he snapped, low and cold. Only then did Solivair and Zane realize Arthur was sitting inside. The moment they saw him, both men jumped in surprise. Before Wind could speak, Solivair pointed at Arthur and began cursing. “Arthur! You ungrateful little bastard! You dare show your face in front of me?! You’ve got a death wish!” He and Arthur had made a deal—Solivair would bring Arthur into Heaven Island, and Arthur would help him find Lynn. He had brought Arthur in, but Arthur had given him nothing—no leads on Lynn at all! Solivair had never believed that someone like Arthur could gain entry into Heaven’s Cult legitimately. He figured Arthur had been rejected just like him. That’s why he had no hesitation speaking to him this way now. Hearing Solivair’s rant, Finley’s eyes suddenly lit up! He knew it—he knew it! Compared to his father, Arthur was nothing! Sure, that Wind guy seemed to treat Arthur well, but it was clearly all some kind of misunderstanding. His father’s instincts had never been wrong. Zane’s eyes lit up as well. He’d been enemies with Arthur for years—he never thought he’d run into him here. Desperate to prove himself, Zane instantly pointed at Arthur and started yelling. “Arthur! What the hell are you?! How dare you sit there in front of Mr. Wind! You’ve got the nerve to raise your voice?! Telling us to get out?! You’re begging for death!” As soon as the words left his mouth, silence fell over the hallway again. Every bodyguard present turned their eyes toward Zane. Their gazes were sharp, deadly, full of fury—as if they could devour him alive. Zane’s chest tightened. For a moment, he faltered. Okay, maybe he had just insulted the wrong person earlier. But this was Arthur! He knew Arthur. Compared to Solivair, Arthur wasn’t even worth mentioning. Why shouldn’t he insult him? Thinking that, Zane straightened his back again. They must’ve misunderstood something. He quickly forced a smile and said, “You’re all mistaken—I was insulting him, Arthur!” As he spoke, he pointed directly at Arthur—making sure everyone knew exactly who he meant.
