Stronger Every Time I Die
Even if they were going to end up wanted by the police, there was no denying one thing—Arthur had bodyguards armed with real guns. Not even Solivair could pull that off. Finley and Zac stood frozen, stunned speechless. What had started as a one-sided siege flipped completely the moment Wind and the armed bodyguards appeared. The crowd scattered in panic, keeping their distance within the campus boundaries, too afraid to come closer. Just as Finley was wondering how to beg Arthur for mercy, a convoy of police cars came speeding down the road. His and Zac’s eyes lit up at once. The police! The police were here! And not just any cops—armed police! Both of them snapped their heads toward Arthur, wild glee flashing in their eyes. He was done for! Hahahahahaha! Arthur, coming out here trying to act cool? Didn’t expect it to blow up in your face this fast, huh? If it weren’t for the fact that a dozen guns were still pointed their way, Finley would’ve burst into laughter right then and there. He hadn’t felt this satisfied in a long time. The moment the officers stepped out of their vehicles, they were stunned by the sight of so many armed men in suits. Without hesitation, they drew their own weapons and trained them on the bodyguards surrounding Arthur. When dispatch received the call, the report had been that a group of students were being violently threatened with knives in front of Governance University. That was serious enough for them to deploy armed officers. But what they walked into was an entirely different scene: a group of well-dressed men, all holding firearms.Finley’s grin widened instantly. As Arthur and the others turned their attention toward the incoming police, Finley moved quickly. He yanked the person nearest to him in front of his own body like a human shield. That person happened to be a younger thug who had been working under Henry for two years. They’d been close. He never imagined Finley would throw him under the bus without hesitation. In that moment, he was furious. Finley was the main target of Arthur’s anger—standing in front of him was practically a death sentence. He was still young. He didn’t want to die! Instinctively, he tried to break free. But Finley grabbed him tighter. With his other hand, he raised his fist and smashed it down on the boy’s head. As he beat him, he spat through gritted teeth, “You piece of trash! You dare struggle?!” Finley kept his voice low and chose an angle where no one could clearly see what he was doing. But Henry saw everything. The moment Finley grabbed the kid as a human shield, Henry was stunned. When he saw him start to fight back, Henry had a bad feeling. But even he didn’t expect Finley to raise his fist and strike—without even blinking. That kid was one of his guys. Someone who had followed Finley loyally for two years. How could he do that? Finley’s outburst drew everyone’s attention. And when they turned to see him using someone else as a human shield, they were shocked. In that instant, everyone realized just how little he valued human life. Whatever good image Finley might’ve had was shattered completely. Sure, the guy he used wasn’t innocent either. He used to be a student at Governance University, but instead of studying, he spent his time bullying others. He was one of the people who’d helped extort Arthur and ended up expelled for it. But none of that mattered to Finley. He kept screaming toward the police. “Officers! I’m Finley from the Tremo family! I’m Solivair’s son! They’ve got real guns! Save me now!” His tone wasn’t pleading—it was commanding. With the Tremo family’s status in Lioran, of course they should protect him, the young master! But then came a twist no one expected. Wind, who had been surrounded by officers with their weapons drawn, suddenly stepped forward. He held no gun, but as one of the group associated with the armed bodyguards, both police and bystanders remained highly alert. Every barrel was trained on Wind. Taylor, pale and shaken since the guns had come out, panicked the moment he saw Wind step forward. From the moment they pulled out the weapons, Taylor had been frozen in place. What the hell had happened in the last two months? Why did Arthur suddenly have an armed entourage? At first, Taylor thought they were just fake guns—props to scare Finley. Finley had been terrified. But the look on Finley’s face… that wasn’t the fear of someone fooled by toys. It was real. And that’s when Taylor started to wonder—were those… actually real guns?
