Stronger Every Time I Die
When Zac finally arrived in Seacity, the place he had dreamed about for so long, he realized just how good his life in South City had been! If only he had gotten along with Arthur back then… If it hadn't been for Renee, he believed he could've lived a peaceful and happy life. But in this world, there was no such thing as "if." Zac had always regretted it deep down. How could he have the heart to bring so much pain to a family that had treated him so well? But things had already come to this point. Faced with Renee's hopeful gaze, he had no other choice; he could only grit his teeth and keep moving forward! He had to fight for himself, for his own life. He couldn't live in the shadows forever! He didn't want to end up like Renee, someone who could never show her face in public. So, when Solivair approached him, he didn't hesitate to say yes. Even though he knew that what he was doing would deeply hurt both John and Arthur. The moment the others saw Zac's reaction, they understood everything. They all looked at Zac in shock and were completely unable to believe that the child they had loved and cherished for so many years could do something this monstrous! Raelynn's hands shook as she let go of Zac's shoulders. She asked in disbelief, "Was it really… really you? You were the one who killed John?" Julie stood up in fury. She wiped away her tears and glared at Zac. "Zac!! What's going on? Dad's death… did it really have something to do with you?" Rosie and Susie were just as shocked as they stared at Zac. At first, they thought Arthur was just making things up. In their hearts, they had hated Zac, but they had always believed that Zac had only done what he did because Renee had manipulated him. Renee had been the one pushing Zac behind the scenes. What they never imagined was that John's death actually had something to do with Zac. Facing their questioning, Zac didn't want to deny it. He felt just as guilty and miserable inside. He regretted it so much… Why did I go so far with Dad back then? How could I have taken all my anger from Seacity and unleashed it on him, who had no way of fighting back? At the time, Solivair's men were standing right there. To show his loyalty and determination to follow Solivair, he...Zac lowered his head and stammered in a low voice, "I'm sorry… I didn't mean to." Everyone was stunned. Raelynn couldn't bear it, and her legs gave out as she collapsed to the ground. None of them could believe what they had just heard. Julie and her sisters were equally shocked, and they stared at Zac in disbelief. Of the three, Susie had always been the closest to Zac. They were around the same age and grew up playing together. For Zac's sake, Susie had bullied Arthur more than a few times. Her lips trembled as she asked in disbelief, "Z-Zac, what are you saying?" Even at this moment, Susie was still clinging to hope. It can't be Zac. It has to be that bastard Arthur! It has to be Arthur who did it! Back in Seacity, Susie had come to a realization. When Zac ran off with Dad's money and disappeared, it must've been because Renee ordered him to. Zac surely didn't want to do it! In the hearts of everyone in the Gray family, Zac had always been kind. They simply couldn't bring themselves to believe that John's death had anything to do with Zac! But thinking about it now… if Zac hadn't taken all of John's money and disappeared, how would John have ended up on the streets, suffering and begging just to survive? How would his health have deteriorated so badly? In truth, John's death was completely the result of Zac and Renee's doing! They were the ones who tricked John into selling his mansion, transferred all his shares and money into their names, and left him homeless. In the end, it was Zac who delivered the final blow. By now, all the pitiful look Zac once had was gone. He lowered his head and said with difficulty, "I didn't know Dad's health was that bad. I… I just lost my temper and hit too hard." The word "Dad" slipped out of his mouth without thinking. After calling him that for over a decade, it had become second nature. Since arriving in Seacity, Zane had never shown up. Zac never even had the chance to call him "Dad." Compared to Zane, John had truly been a real father to him. And yet, he had personally pushed that father into the abyss. The most ridiculous part was that the rage that clouded his judgment wasn't even because of John. It had all come from Zane, and John had absolutely nothing to do with it!
