Stronger Every Time I Die
Raelynn and her three daughters all hated him! They hated his heartlessness, but none of them had ever imagined that one day, he would just leave this world. When they got the news, they were still at the Yarbrough Residence. They blamed John's cruelty and ruthlessness for forcing them into a life of dependency. But before they could even finish venting their anger, the news of John's passing suddenly came. On the way back, they had so many thoughts. The four of them simply couldn't accept the news of John's sudden death. They hadn't even had the chance to let go of the hatred they held toward him; how could he just die like that? Raelynn hated John for how cruel and insane he had been. For Renee, he had been so heartless toward his own wife. God knows how lost and terrified she had been when she fled to Seacity with her three daughters. Later, when she heard that Renee had taken Zac and scammed all of John's money before disappearing, Raelynn was overjoyed as justice had finally been served! John had finally gotten what he deserved! Then came the news that Arthur had received multiple offers from top university professors. After that, Raelynn and her daughters' position in the Yarbrough family became... complicated. Arthur had left early for Governance University, and the Yarbrough family's plan to use Raelynn and her daughters to deal with Arthur fell apart for the time being. That directly caused the Yarbrough family's attitude toward Raelynn and her daughters to shift subtly. Though nothing was said out loud, the four of them could clearly feel the entire Yarbrough household, from Xylia down to the maids and housekeepers, treated them differently now. And yet, the Yarbrough family only took them in temporarily. When they tried to find jobs outside, they strangely hit walls everywhere. The moment people heard their names, they were rejected. They could only assume it was because of Arthur that no one in Seacity dared to hire them. Julie asked Stephen for help finding a job, but he kept putting it off with excuse after excuse. They kept telling them to stay in the Yarbrough Residence and not to worry about anything else. Without the Yarbrough family, Raelynn and her three daughters wouldn't be able to survive. It was not like they hadn't thought about starting over in another city. But the money from selling Julie's house hadn't come through, and they were broke. They had nowhere to go and no place to rest. This time, they were able to come to South City thanks to Arthur. He was the one who sent someone to bring them over. If John hadn't been so cruel, they would never have ended up in such a miserable state. The mess they were in now was caused entirely by John and Arthur! They hated John! And yet, when they received the news of his death, they didn't feel the slightest bit of joy. On the contrary, their tears fell uncontrollably. And when they saw John, bony and lifeless in that coffin, they completely broke down. In that moment, all their grudges against him suddenly didn't seem so important anymore. Especially the three girls. That was their father! Their hearts were filled with complicated emotions, but the tears in their eyes just wouldn't stop falling. Finally, Raelynn and Susie couldn't hold it in anymore. The two of them rushed to the coffin, looked at John's face, and cried. Arthur pressed his lips tightly together. The dead deserved respect. In that moment, he didn't want to bring up old grudges. After a long silence, Raelynn suddenly looked up, her eyes filled with fury as she glared at Arthur. Raelynn gritted her teeth and shouted, "Arthur!! What exactly did you do to John? Why was he with you? Was it… Was it you who killed him!!?" The moment those words came out, the entire room fell silent. All the crying stopped. Everyone's eyes turned to Arthur in unison! Without exception, every single one of them was filled with hatred. Their expressions looked like they wanted to tear Arthur apart. Arthur suddenly looked up. What he saw was a scene that made him feel utterly humiliated. His body trembled. Looking at their hateful faces, Arthur suddenly felt like laughing. And he did. "Haha!" Arthur laughed for such a long time that tears streamed down his face. Eventually, he stopped laughing. Looking at Raelynn and his three older sisters, Arthur felt only irony. His eyes were filled with sorrow. It was as if the strength had drained from him completely. He glanced lightly at Zac, then casually waved his hand.
