Stronger Every Time I Die
Taylor waved a hand behind him without looking back as he walked away. Ashley chuckled. "Your friend is pretty funny." Arthur immediately tensed up. "Funny? Is he funnier than me?" Ashley’s smile froze for a second. The jealousy in the air was almost suffocating. She stared at Arthur in disbelief. "Are you seriously jealous right now?" Arthur turned his head away, sulking. "You’re not allowed to look at any man except me." "Pfft—" Ashley burst into laughter. "Hahahahahaha!" "What’s so funny?" "Arthur, you’re so cute when you’re like this!" Looking around to make sure no one else was nearby, Ashley suddenly stood on her tiptoes and kissed him. For the first time, Arthur—who had the thick skin of a fortress—actually blushed. "I’m a grown man. You can’t call me cute." "But you really were just now." Ashley’s expression turned serious. "No matter how outstanding other men are, none of them could ever catch my eye." She meant every word. Over the years, many had pursued her. Compared to when she first met Arthur, some of her admirers were even wealthier and more powerful than he had been back then. But the only one who had ever made it into her heart—the only one she ever wanted—was Arthur. If anything ever happened to him, she had no intention of going on alone. Rather than spending her life in agony missing him, she would rather follow him. At least that way, she could keep him company, even on the road to the afterlife.Arthur’s expression softened. The sulking and jealousy from earlier melted away, replaced by an uncontrollable smile tugging at his lips. Ashley felt warm seeing his reaction. That saying was true—men really were just like children. After settling into the dorm, Arthur headed out. There was still too much to do. Now that Solivair had made his move, Arthur couldn’t afford to sit back and do nothing. Lioran University had guards personally arranged by Mr. Hugo, and Arthur had also brought in his own bodyguards. With Ashley here, he felt much more at ease. Inside Mr. Hugo’s office, the two sat across from each other. "You brought Ashley back to Lioran University?" Mr. Hugo asked, his tone gentle, like an elder concerned about his junior’s affairs. Arthur nodded. "I didn’t feel safe leaving her at Skyward Academy." Even though Mr. Devon was protecting her there, he couldn’t be by her side every moment of the day. Arthur also didn’t know if the people at Skyward Academy who had spoken badly about Ashley were connected to Solivair. If Solivair wanted to plant people there or make a move against her, it wouldn’t be difficult, especially with the school’s lack of security. Compared to that, Lioran University was much more secure. With both Arthur and his own security team watching over her, he could relax—at least a little. Mr. Hugo nodded approvingly. "You made the right decision." In times like these, keeping loved ones out of harm’s way was the best thing one could do. Besides, having them together would also help in defending against Solivair. After a brief pause, the conversation shifted. "I heard about the cyberattacks on Cloudia Corporation and Walker Group," Mr. Hugo said. "What’s your plan?"Arthur narrowed his eyes, thinking for a moment before answering. "Since Solivair has made his move, I can’t just sit back anymore." As he spoke, he took out his phone and handed over a set of backup files. Mr. Hugo took the phone and began scrolling through the evidence. With each passing second, his expression darkened. By the time he reached the final pages, his eyes widened in shock. He couldn’t help but murmur, "It’s actually…" He didn’t finish his sentence, but the disbelief on his face said it all. That name—he had heard it before. But he never expected the head of the Tremo family to be involved. What was he after? The Tremo family had been one of Evergrand City’s old elite for generations. Their foundation was deep, passed down through countless years of history. For such a powerful family, why would they need to align themselves with that organization? If the authorities found out, the entire Tremo family would be destroyed. Sure, they could relocate from Lioran, but their roots were here. Once they left, their legacy would crumble. And if word spread about their involvement with that organization, which country would even be willing to take them in?
