Stronger Every Time I Die

Chapter 425 A Dangerous Game

"Boom!!!" Ashley felt like all the blood in her body had rushed straight to her head! Her face turned so red she could probably drip blood. She stammered, pointing at Arthur, but couldn’t even find the words to describe him. Thankfully, Arthur didn’t tease her any further. Instead, he turned his attention to handling the hacker attack on his company. He skillfully pulled up a string of numbers and started dialing. But just before he made the call, he glanced at Ashley and added casually— "We’ll go back to the hotel later… and take our time." "Boom!" Ashley felt like the sky was collapsing. Why… Why did I answer my mom’s call! Nancy had dug a hole for her and thrown her straight in! Arthur’s call connected. On the other end, Taylor’s voice carried a teasing lilt. "Arthur, aren’t you supposed to be focused on your studies? Instead, you ran off to see your fiancée? You’re done for." Arthur chuckled. If this weren’t an emergency, he would have made sure to stuff Taylor so full of PDA that he’d choke on it. But he got serious. "Taylor, I need your help." Solivair was already involved. Even if Arthur didn’t drag Taylor into this, there was no guarantee he’d be safe. Solivair clearly had no intention of keeping his promises. Who knew when he might decide to go after Taylor too? Arthur figured it was better to tie Taylor to his side completely. That way, he could at least ensure his safety.Taylor immediately picked up on the tension in Arthur’s voice. His usual smirk disappeared. "What happened?" Arthur briefly explained the situation. Then, with a serious tone, he added, "Taylor, this is bigger than just a hacker attack. If you help me, you might get pulled into something dangerous. You don’t have to say yes—I’ll still make sure you’re protected." Some things, Arthur wanted Taylor to choose for himself. Taylor didn’t even hesitate. His voice was just as firm. "What are you talking about? We’re brothers. We’ve been in this together for a long time. Even if I don’t help you, do you really think I can escape any of this?" The moment he crossed paths with Finley—no, even earlier, the moment he became Mr. Hugo’s student—Taylor had already been dragged into this world. Finley was jealous that Taylor had become Mr. Hugo’s student. He would do anything to bring him down. As long as Taylor remained standing, Finley would never stop. At this point, it was impossible to tell who had dragged who into this mess. But one thing was certain—he and Arthur were on the same ship now. They were sworn brothers. They had long since made up their minds to fight for each other. There was no need for words. Arthur still couldn’t shake his worry. He sighed. "Then I’m counting on you." If his company collapsed, he would become nothing more than an insect waiting to be crushed. And if that happened, neither he nor the people he cared about would be safe. He wouldn’t let that happen. Taylor waved it off like it was nothing. "Come on, man. No need to be polite between brothers." After hanging up, Arthur made several more calls. Ashley sat quietly beside him, occasionally handing him a cup of hot tea to soothe his throat.Arthur wasn’t just handling his own company’s crisis—he was dealing with Walker Group’s issues too. He gave Nancy’s contact information to Taylor so he could take care of it. Ashley watched him work, completely focused, completely in control. He was breathtaking. I shouldn’t be thinking about this right now, but… God, he’s just too handsome when he’s serious! When Arthur finally finished his calls, he glanced up—only to catch Ashley staring at him. She hadn’t even had time to look away. Busted. Ashley’s face instantly turned red again. Arthur smirked. "What’s wrong? Can’t wait?" Ashley’s cheeks burned hotter. She huffed. "You’re getting worse and worse!" Arthur threw his head back and laughed. Arthur had evidence of Solivair’s connection to a powerful organization. He couldn’t stand the thought of Ashley being left alone at Skyward Academy. So he made a decision. He was taking Ashley back to Lioran University with him. Back at the hotel, Ashley looked straight into Arthur’s eyes, her expression serious. "Arthur, has something happened these past few days?" Ever since he got Stanley’s call—then her mother’s—Arthur had been handling everything so calmly. Not a single moment of hesitation. No panic. No confusion.
