Stronger Every Time I Die

Chapter 364 Snatch and Grab

Arthur, even if he were silver-tongued, couldn't possibly deny what had happened, nor could he provide any evidence. There were many people around, no surveillance, and it was under the cover of night. Now, he was holding the ring, which even had his fingerprints on it. There was no way he could talk his way out of this. Finley relaxed, looking directly into Arthur’s eyes with solemnity, “Arthur, I didn't want to be so blunt, but since you insist on asking, I must speak plainly.” Finley seemed to make a big decision as he continued, “My ring vanished without a trace, yet it appeared in your pocket. It’s obvious. you stole my ring!” Towards the end, Finley could barely contain himself, his tone serious and assertive! He sounded like a judge rushing to convict Arthur. As his words ended, a wave of agreement swept through the audience below. Some criticized Arthur’s stubbornness, others praised Finley’s kind heart, and many were sure Hugo was regretting his stance. But Arthur, he suddenly flashed a cryptic smile. The moment Finley saw that smile, a chill went through him, his unease deepening! Arthur then pulled out his phone. Waving the device teasingly, he said, “Since you’re so sure, Finley, I have something to show you that you’ll find interesting.” Seeing the phone in his hand, Finley’s alarm bells went off, though he couldn’t guess what Arthur was up to. But before he could react, Arthur tapped the phone screen. Instantly, the large screen that previously displayed the ring switched to a new image. The scene was noisy but clear. The crowd recognized it instantly—it was their current location! In the video, it was clear that Arthur and Taylor were sitting at a table, enjoying snacks prepared by the school. The two were casually chatting. Seeing this, Finley panicked! That was a recording, a surveillance footage! No! The moment he saw the video, panic surged through Finley. His mind raced frantically. He couldn’t let this surveillance footage be shown, absolutely not!He wanted to rush up and snatch the phone from Arthur, but under so many watchful eyes, he couldn’t make such a move! In his panic, he suddenly noticed the police officer next to Arthur, who was also anxiously looking at Finley! Their eyes met, and without hesitation, Finley gave a sharp, commanding glance. The officer, understanding the signal, acted immediately. Without thinking too long, he reached out to grab the phone from Arthur’s hand! They were very close, and it all happened in an instant—his hand already touching Arthur’s phone. Everyone was stunned by this sudden turn of events. Why would a police officer try to snatch a phone from Arthur’s hand during this time? Was there something in the surveillance footage that couldn't be shown? Just as the officer's hand was about to touch Arthur's phone, Arthur suddenly sidestepped, narrowly avoiding the officer's grasp! The officer was shocked! He hadn’t expected Arthur to react so quickly! Almost reflexively, the officer reached out again to seize Arthur’s phone, and at the same time, his other hand aggressively grabbed at Arthur. But Arthur was prepared; he moved quickly, dodging several times, and once again escaped the officer’s grasp. Arthur and the officer clashed briefly, a quick exchange of grabs and dodges. The officer was professionally trained, an experienced policeman, and yet he couldn’t catch Arthur! After a few rounds, Arthur seemed tired of the game. Suddenly, Arthur turned around, his long leg sweeping out, and he forcefully kicked the officer away! With a loud "bang," the officer crashed to the ground. This sudden development shocked everyone present. How did playing a surveillance video lead to a fight between the police and Arthur? The other officer standing beside Arthur, through the scuffle, wanted to intervene several times but held back due to his doubts. The attacking officer was his colleague, and this operation to catch a thief had been initiated suddenly after he received a message and brought them here prematurely.
