Stronger Every Time I Die
It was merely a brief encounter, yet Yoder was convinced that Arthur would achieve greatness! Not only that, even his master had nothing but praise for him! How is this possible? Arthur had met Yoder? And possibly even Yoder's master? How could this be? Both the Gray family and everyone else were shocked. He, a man disowned by the Gray family and scorned by everyone, a man who had almost been thrown out of the banquet, how could he have such encounters! Though Yoder wasn't a businessman like them, his prestige was undeniably no less than any of them present! His designs had gone international, eagerly sought after by renowned global brands. In South City and even throughout Lioran, he held significant prestige. And now, he was speaking so highly of a castaway! Not just him, he even claimed that his master held Arthur in high regard! That's a notorious failure! John couldn't believe what he was hearing and thought he had misheard. He must mean Zac! "Mr. Yoder, what did you just say? You mean my son Zac, right? He's very talented, and I believe he will certainly make a mark in the future!" John hastily pulled Zac closer. Zac, pushed forward by John, could see that Yoder might not be talking about him. But with the ball already rolling, he still clung to a sliver of hope. Being praised by Yoder in front of everyone would elevate his status among the elite! Zac tried to muster a polite smile, making himself look as presentable and courteous as possible. Yoder frowned and gave Zac a quick glance. The scheming deceit in Zac's eyes, although fleeting, did not escape Yoder. Facing John's eager gaze, Yoder's initial amiability faded. "Mr. John, your adopted son is deep in schemes, accustomed to deception. Not to mention his future achievements, even his heart towards the Gray family may not be pure." Yoder's tone was mild, but his words struck the Gray family like a heavy blow! How could this be? John's face turned ashen, his hands trembling, unsure of what to do. The rest of the Gray family felt the same way. Although it was just an unfounded statement, they all understood the significance of Yoder's words. As a highly respected fashion designer with a keen and discerning eye, both revered and feared, his insights were known to be incredibly sharp. He could often see through most of a person's intentions with just a single look. Many even considered him a sage, bringing their children to meet him in hopes of receiving his guidance. But now, he had publicly demeaned Zac so harshly! He said Zac is deep in schemes and accustomed to deceit, and his heart towards the Gray family may not be pure! How could this be possible! They dared not look at Zac, the child they had cherished for ten years! Zac gritted his teeth so tightly in anger that he almost broke one! As he observed the changing expressions of the Gray family, a sense of unprecedented crisis overwhelmed him. He had thought today would be the day to destroy Arthur completely with Yoder’s help! He had even prepared the most damaging accusations! He never expected to lose the first round in just a few words from Yoder! The crowd's murmurs had already exploded! "Oh my! How could this be! Could Mr. Yoder have made a mistake?" "That's Mr. Yoder! His golden words and keen eyes see through everything, how could he be wrong?" "Yes! I once asked Mr. Yoder to assess my child, and everything he said was spot-on!" "Deep in schemes, accustomed to deception, his heart towards the Gray family isn't pure, isn't the Gray family just inviting trouble?" "Come to think of it, Zac has always been suspicious. I remember the Gray family used to adore Arthur. It seems like ever since they adopted Zac, Arthur has disappeared from our sight." "Right, and when he did appear, it was just one scandal after another." "Favoring an adopted son over their own, driving away their biological child, that’s already against common sense." "Now that I think about it, Zac really does seem off!" "Do you remember Zac's birthday party two years ago? I felt back then that Zac was too cunning! Before Arthur produced evidence, he acted so innocently generous, as if he was considering Arthur’s interests."
