My Best Friend’s Brother Was Never Supposed to Taste Me

Chapter 416

♡ Mia's pov ♡ I looked at her, feeling the blood drain from my face. She was the last person I'd ever want to see me like this. When did she even get in here? Was I spewing out my entire breakfast down the toilet so loudly that my ears failed to pick up on the sound of her footsteps which I was sure was loud given those heels she wore? I cleared my throat, willing to play this cool so she'd not suspect anything. "Ate something bad." I grimaced, walking out of the stall completely and strutting over to the pipe so I can wash my mouth and hopefully move that God awful taste of puke. Her eyes tear away from me, she digs her hand in her small purse and pulls out lipgloss. Looking back at me, she mumbles. " I don't care for your problems Mia and you don't have to explain to me why you were puking out your guts in there. It's not any of my business. " Rolling her eyes, she started applying her lipgloss. Well then. That was at least better than her acting like she cared and throwing questions after questions my way. I opened the faucet, staring at her from the corner of my eye. I see her let out a heavy sigh, snapping her gaze my way. I tore mine away quickly and cupped my hand under the water before bringing it to my mouth. I gurgle the water and spat it out. "Our coach usually tells us to drink coconut water when we have an upset stomach. It helps." She grumbles as if she wasn't sure she wanted to tell me that piece of information. I nodded as a silent thank you. Brianna hasn't talked to me much, not since I had ignored her after she said those nasty things about me. So I didn't really care to think much into her sudden facade of trying to be helpful. "If that doesn't work, you should try some warm milk." She then adds as if waiting for me to answer her using my actual voice and not nodding like a robot. "Food poisoning can be really bad- I turn to her, not at all surprised that her smile didn't quite reach her eyes. "Why are you trying to help me?" I asked, giving her my full attention. She really did resemble Brian a lot and it was hard to imagine that such a sweet guy like Brian had an envious rude sister like her. "We're friends are we not?" She asked with a shrug. I narrowed my eyes. "I don't think we are." She didn't look one bit startled or hurt by my words, in fact, she looked quite neutral. "Well, I should think we are, given that Kade and my brother are close. Kade and I are also quite close too if you've failed to notice. It's only right that we call ourselves, friends." She said dryly. I raised a brow, fighting the urge to snort. "Not because your brother and Kade are considered close doesn't mean we are. You're no friend of mine Brianna." I bit my tongue to not say more. She didn't know that Kade and I were in the bathroom and heard every word she said to Sheryl that day. She didn't know that I could see right through her act. She looked at me coldly for a few awkward moments before smacking her lips. "Well." She pushes her lipgloss into her purse but takes out a gum. She unwraps it and looks at me. "I would've offered you one, but seeing as we're not friends, I don't think I will." She pushes the gum in her mouth and chews it obnoxiously loud. She gives me one last cold stare before walking away, but before she walks out the door she stops. "You should really try the coconut water." And with that, she closes the door behind her leaving me in the bathroom on my own. But I wasn't alone for too long, soon other girls barged in, some looking at me in confusion and some just didn't bother to spare me a glance. I mean I suppose I get why I received confused stares, I did look like I was crazy just standing there and looking at my reflection in the mirror. ___ I chewed the sandwich, swallowed, and then brought the coke to my lips and gulped it down. "Remember to take your time to eat before you actually choke." Colby snorted while pushing a good amount of fries inside his mouth. I rolled my eyes opening my mouth to take yet another huge bite. I was starving and that may have to do with the breakfast I had puked out earlier. I had been counting the minutes till lunch ever since. "Stanly invited me to the game this Friday." Colby suddenly said with a mouthful of mushed fries.I cringe but don't bother telling him how gross it was to talk while still chewing. Swallowing I nod. "I was also invited." I tilt my head to the side as I thought of the awkward exchange of words between Brian and me before I had the urge to vomit. "By who?" Curiosity was heavy on Colby's tongue as he finally swallowed the fries. "By Brian." I shrugged nonchalantly not really seeing it as a big deal to mention his name. A tray smacks down on the table opposite mine. I jerk a little at the sound and lift my head up. The school's tie, white shirt straining against toned muscles, a little fading of hickies on the neck I remember giving last night, sharp jawline, lips lined in a frown and eyes that spoke of annoyance. "Why are you two speaking about Brian?" Kade tries his best to hide his jealousy by plopping down on the chair, but even that was rough. "Brian invited Mia to the game this Friday," Colby said looking between the two of us. He never did seem to catch on to our secret relationship which I was thankful for. Kade's jaw ticked. "Oh really?" His eyes connect with mine and I can see his irritation clear as day. Not at me but at Brian. "He also invited me. Told him I'd think about it but seeing as my boss will close the shop Friday to attend a wedding, I suppose I'll be off. I think I'll go." He grumbles, taking a chicken nugget off his tray and biting it off harshly. I nearly winced for the poor thing. But seeing Kade so worked up always made me feel a little troublesome. He did like to fuck me harder when he was jealous. I shivered a little by the thought of how hard he'll fuck me if I go. " I think I'll go to. Never gone to a game before." I shrugged, looking at him fixedly knowing I was working him up already. Kade's fingers around the nugget turn deathly until the poor thing breaks off and lands back on the tray. "With Brian?" His voice had a tone of anger that made one think he had eaten something bitter. I shook my head. "No, I'm merely going as support because we're friends. Well sort of. I couldn't say no." I caved when both Colby and Kade sent me weird looks. "Well since you're also going, we'll go together." Kade nods as though he made all the decisions for me already. I narrowed my eyes. He may be my boyfriend but that doesn't mean he can tell me what to do."You seem to already have made up your mind for everyone." I huffed. "I'm definitely not riding with you two. Every single ride, you both argue like a damn married couple. And it's bad enough that the argument never makes any sense." Colby grunts, pushing another handful of fries into his mouth.
