My Best Friend’s Brother Was Never Supposed to Taste Me
♡ Mia's pov ♡ This wasn't fair. Waking up so early just for the sake of school. "Mia get your butt down here in five minutes," Mom yelled from the other side of the closed door. "I'm coming," I groan, turning around and burying my face in my sheets. I just need another five minutes of rest and I'll be up and ready. I heard her soft padding footsteps disappearing and I smiled, pressing my cheek more into my sheets. Peace and quiet. Almost in the midst of dozing off, I heard the door opening with a soft click. Too tired to even turn to see who entered, I laid there like a dead woman. Until the mattress sinks with the weight of someone and a pfft sound echoes close to my ear. My eyes widen as they connected to Austin's spider man boxers. His ass was literally in my face. That little devil. My palms pushed against his bottom, hurling him off my bed. "Austin!" I growled but regretted it when his fart smell entered my mouth and caused me to start gagging and coughing. Austin weight thuds on the floor but instead of crying, he roars with laughter. "Rise and shine sissy!" He yelled, got off his ass, and dashed out of my room before I could hurl something at him. This was his usual routine and I should've gotten used to it by now. Sadly I hadn't. I coughed, forcing the toxic smell out of my lungs. What the hell did he eat? I could taste it. Nasty. Disgusting. I grunt while throwing my covers off my body. The cool air hit my bare legs as I jump out of bed and raced to the door with not much of a care in the world that I looked like I was electrocuted. My eyes were still tired from sleep and most of my matted hair was covering my face."Austin you little shit!" I yelled, opening the door and rushed out only to stumble forward and slam into a hard chest. I freeze. That scent. I peeled myself away from him quickly, my eyes on his tatted chest. That was an ink load of tattoos. After that moment in that dressing room, I've been avoiding Kade like he had some sort of rare disease. It was difficult seeing as he lived with me and literally slept in the room opposite to mine. So to avoid him as much as possible, I binged Riverdale in my room. When it was time for dinner, I didn't really have to avoid him seeing that he wouldn't show up but stay lodged in his room the entire day. "Watch it," His hiss made me flinch back. What the hell crawled up his ass and died? I know today he'll technically be the new guy in school and must be anxious about it, but that didn't give him any right to speak to me like that. Brushing my matted hair out of my face I scowled up at him. His hair is messy from sleep but his eyes shone very brightly for someone who just woke up. The blue always seems to knock the breath out of me. "No, you watch it!" I snapped. It was way too early to argue with him. His eyes narrowed and the blue nearly disappear through his almost closed lids. "You're the one who slammed into me," He grunted. My jaw ticked. I was irritated by his sudden anger. "You're the one who got in my way!" I argued, pointing a finger accusingly at him. Huffing, I brushed my hair off my shoulder and snapped. "Now if you could excuse me, I have a toad to catch." With those words, I left him staring at me. I was well aware of the target my cotton short caused but I wasn't going to pick it whilst his eyes are still glued to my back. _ "Mom, please save me!" Austin whined as he tried to remove my finger from his ear. I pinched his ear harder, twisting it until he yelled out in pain before dropping it. "You two need to stop this childishness. Mia, you're a senior now you must act your age. " Mom huffs, no doubt annoyed by Austin and I's bickering. To be honest, he started it. If he hadn't disturbed my rest with his toxic gas, he wouldn't be spotting a red ear right now. "You're one to talk, you still treat me like I'm a child," I pointed out, rolling my eyes as I settled on the stool. French toast. Yum. She looks at me then shrugs. "Well, that's because no matter how older you get. You're still going to be my baby." "Smells good baby," Dad walks into the kitchen, his hands fixing his tie as he bends down to kiss mom then comes over to us to kiss Austin and I's forehead. "The big day. Senior year," Dad takes off his hand from his tie and only to ruffle my already matted hair. "Dad," I whined, but don't move away. He retracts his hand with a laugh and goes back to fumbling with his tie. Dad would always struggle with his tie and Mom would always come to the rescue. Sometimes I think it was a tactic of his to get her closer to him so he'd quickly slip in a kiss. "Where's Kade?" Dad's brows furrowed as he looks around. There was no sign of Kade. "Must be fighting villains in his room!" Of course, it had to be Austin to say the stupidest shit ever. I snorted. "More like he's the villain and the heroes finally caught him." Austin folds his arms and he huffs. "You're just jealous that he's way cooler than you." I glared down at Austin who stared at me in defiance. Why was he on Kade's side? He's supposed to be on mine! "Will world War three happen in our kitchen babe?" Dad turns to mom and tries to sneak a funny glance our way. "It will if you don't get that tie right." She laughs and walks over to him to help him with his tie. Dad smiles lovingly down at her and I refrain from gagging. Seconds later, the sound of heavy approaching footsteps near the kitchen. And just like that, my confidence diminishes when he enters the room. I couldn't understand why his mere presence was affecting me so much. He barely speaks to me, in fact, he hasn't held a proper conversation with any of us from the moment he came here. Mom pats dad tie and smiled up at him before turning to give Kade her attention. "Good morning Kade. Did you sleep well?"Kade only grunts and comes to sit on the stool beside me. I was now cocooned between two devils. I stiffen when the heat emanating from his body touches me. Thankfully he had the decency to put on a shirt. Still, I couldn't help but peek at the tattoos on his arm. Beautiful art. Beautiful face. Ugly attitude. Not wanting to give up, mom chirps. " Hope you're excited for your first day. I'm sure Mia will show you around and you'll get comfortable with the school in no time. Put on your seat belt though, she can be a little reckless driver sometimes." Wait, Kade's driving with me?
