My Best Friend’s Brother Was Never Supposed to Taste Me

Chapter 325

Arabella Rivera "Where are we going?" I asked for what felt like the fifth time, I don't know, it could've might as well been that much. Haiden doesn't take his eyes off on the road but a grin spreads across his face. "You've been asking that quite a lot baby. The answer will still remain the same. It's a surprise." I huffed folding my arms across my chest. "I hate surprises." Haiden only chuckles in amusement and doesn't respond. After a few minutes, he slows down a few blocks before a light blue food truck. "I'll be back." He said and sends me a cheeky smile before getting out of the truck. My eyes stay glued on his broad back as he stalks over to the food truck that seemed to be famous seeing how many people were lined up to order. But instead of joining the queue, Haiden walks past the line of waiting people and straight over to the backdoor. My brows furrowed in confusion as I lost sight of him. My phone pings and my attention is drawn to the lit up screen. It was a message from Gwen. I forgot to answer her back and quite frankly only just remembered that I had to. I swiped my thumb over the screen of the phone and opened her message. I read the text and my heart skips. Gwen: Just washed the black dress I borrowed you on Friday and noticed some dried white substance I'm familiar with on the front and back. Did you lose your virginity at the party Arabella??? My fingers trembled as I typed a quick response. Arabella: No! Someone spilled something on me. I remember it was some white substance. I'm not sure what it was. Gwen didn't remember much from the party last Friday. The only thing she apparently remembers was my ass rubbing on her front when we danced. Apart from that, she had no recall of seeing Haiden inside her house. Or him holding her and I'd like to keep it that way. To control my anxiety I started biting my nail as I waited for her to text back. Gwen: On both front and back? I may be dumb Arabella but not that dumb! Come on spill the tea.My heart literally jumped out of my chest. I didn't want her to know about Haiden, not until I understood what was going on between them. The hatred that made a wall between the two, was too high to climb to seem as though it was just them being petty. Something was going on, and I have everything intention of getting to the bottom of it before she knew about Haiden and me. Arabella: There's no tea to spill. Come on do you really think I'd be stupid enough to lose my virginity at a party? Gwen: Every teen loses their virginity at a party! Come on spill the beans, I'm this close to coming to your home to find out myself. Her not giving up made me grit my teeth. Arabella: Well not me. I would appreciate it if you'd just drop it Gwen. There's nothing I need to 'spill' I huffed and put my off phone. I wasn't about to make her ruin my night. I didn't want to think about anything other than Haiden tonight. I'm startled when the driver's door suddenly opens. My eyes fall on Haiden's worried face and I let out a sigh of relief. Smiling to reassure him I murmur. "Is this where our date will be?" There was nothing wrong with having a date here, unless a homeless person tries to steal your sandwich from you. Haiden enters and that's when I realized the bag he held in his hand. "Nope. Just bought us some food to go. Can't have my girl hungry on our first date." He slams the door shut and places the bag behind his seat. His words made me smile. Never had I expected him to treat me so well and we have only been dating for a few days. "Weren't those people mad at you for skipping the line?" I nudged my head at the line of people who looked impatient. The line didn't seem like it was moving fast enough. Haiden snorts. "The owner and I go way back." I turn to him and he laughs. "I swear not by something illegal! Just helped him fry some hot dogs a couple of times." Surprise lit my face."You frying hot dogs? " I giggled. "Never would I have imagined that! How didn't I even know about this? Everyone knows everything about you, and this? You must've been good to hide it away from those obsessed girls at school." Haiden rolls his eyes yet a small smile emerges on his face. " How's it so hard to imagine me frying hotdogs? And just to let you know, I didn't once burn them."I giggled as he started the truck, pulled out of the parking space and drove down the road. The entire ride I couldn't get that dumb grin off my face. Never had I felt so happy and carefree before. _______________ "Okay, this reminds me of some thriller movie where the boyfriend brings the girlfriend somewhere that's far away from civilization. Is this where you bury my body?" I joked and turned to Haiden. We've been driving for more than thirty minutes and right now all I could see were trees and more trees. Haiden smirks and my heart flutters when he spoke. "Hmmm. I had been contemplating that, but you see why would I want to kill off my future?" Maybe he hadn't realized how heavy his words were or how much it meant. But I grew tongue-tied when he let them out. "It wouldn't be a good idea now would it?" He stole a glance at me quickly before returning his eyes to the road. He turns into a small dirt road. I bite the inside of my cheek as I fight off my smile. "Turning into a small creepy road isn't exactly helping your case." Haiden chuckles loudly and his raspy voice makes my heart beat faster. "I promise to never hurt you Bella." "Don't make promises you won't be able to keep Cross." I murmur and turn to face the front. The trees had finally cleared up until there was a flat open plain. A dead end. But what surprised me was the sound of waves crashing on rocks and the smell of the salty tang of the ocean. "That's a promise I'll fight to keep," Haiden answers truthfully before making a turn and backed up until the end of the truck faced the ocean below.
